Pat Radack Posted September 10 Posted September 10 Anyone tried the Onnais version 3 keyless locks? Anyone express any issues with the RVLock V4 keyless locks? One being more or less keyless than the other... Any issues or concerns with customer service available from either? Neither uses laser cut keys or other types of keys that most locksmiths will not duplicate. I wonder if either allows you to select your own frequency for communications between your FOB and the lock wireless receiver (I wouldn't enjoy the door unlocking during the night when a neighbor is locking/unlocking their unit). Failing that, will either allow you to turn off the FOB functionality? I wonder how many possible frequencies these FOB have the ability to use? Thoughts? Patriot Posted September 10 Posted September 10 (edited) We have had the RVlock V4 lock on our Oliver since we purchased new and this is year 6. It has worked flawlessly since I installed it post purchase. Just make sure you replace the batteries timely. The lock will let you know when the batteries are getting low with a lower tone or faint beep. RV lock was very responsive the one time I needed to replace our key pad with the new and improved silicone key pad. The RV lock key fobs are ok. We primarily use the key pad. RV lock is a Chi/com product and you get what you get. If someone really wants in your trailer the door lock is not going to stop them. You might want to call RVlock and ask about frequencies. No, you cannot turn the fob off unless you remove the battery. The fobs are hit and miss…some work well for a long time and some don’t. We keep a spare set of keys locked up in our TV should we misplace or loose our keys. The key pad has worked great for our needs and I would replace our RVlock with the same model given our field experience. 2 hours ago, Pat Radack said: Onnais version 3 keyless locks? It’s been a long time since purchased and I installed ours. Blueberries were at rest this season. We pruned heavily last fall. Next summer we hope for a good crop! 😊 Safe travels as you make your way back to SC! Tom and Doreen Posted September 11 Posted September 11 We've had two RVLocks fail, on the first one a circuit board failed, the second one had a mechanical failure which we were advised (by the manufacturer) to loosen the internal screws that held a metal plate in place; I don't have a lot of confidence in the second fix but it seems to be working for now. Lot's of people seem to have this lock and are happy with it though. 2 Tom & Doreen • 2023 Elite ll • Hull #1321 • 2023 Tundra Platinum Crew Max • Cheshire CT

Pat Radack Posted September 12 Author Posted September 12 Got an email from RVlock today. They are trying to get me the correct battery for the single, non-functional FOB I have. They stated quite clearly that their keys are laser cut and can not be copied. Perhaps that is what they are currently using. The key I have was just duplicated by my locksmith. He wouldn't, however, duplicate the key that locks/unlocks the FT. Knox Locks puck that covers/secures the bulldog on the # 1189. I will ask again and send a photo. 2019 RAM 2500 Limited 4x4 Crew Cab Black. Hull # 1189 Pat and Amy

No issues with key duplication. We keep a spare Oliver door key in a compartment in our tow vehicle. Low tech, but so far, no issues. 6 Hull #1291 Central Idaho 2022 Elite II Tow Vehicle: 2019 Tundra Double Cab 4x4, 5.7L with tow package

We also read here regarding many failures to the touch pad and batteries loosing charge at just the wrong time. $220+ for keyless entry, sorry no thank you. Our hull being 10 years old, the door lock is still working as designed but gear mechanisms and striker parts do wear out over time. I found this on Amazon and at the time it was only $50, same lock in a nice white powder coat. It's for when we need it or when we may upgrade our entrance door. And yes, extra keys are easy to have on hand too! Just match the code on your key to your order. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00S2IELG6?ref=fed_asin_title https://www.amazon.com/Pair-Keys-Global-Link-Precut/dp/B0BQWVR6YP/?th=1 Edited Monday at 04:22 PM by jd1923 3 Chris & John in Prescott, AZ | 2016 EII #113 | '01 Ram 2500 Cummins!

On the other hand, I had to replace the lock anyway, so keeping in mind resale, I decided to upgrade to the keyless entry lock which many people like. When I sold my previous camper, the buyer told me that all the accessories that I had added was a key factor in their purchase. Plus the lighted keypad looks really cool! 😂 1 Mike 2021 Tundra DC SR5, Improved Racing MHX-514 transmission cooler 2023 LE II - Hull #1420 - "Hank the Tank", Truma A/C, Furnace and WH package, AGM/solar
