jd1923 Posted December 26, 2025 Posted December 26, 2025 (edited) Hello @Mark Meadows, Just search for “trailer center caps” on Amazon, eBay or anywhere. They are all aftermarket, no diff OEM except costing more. https://a.co/d/3c9VPWV If you need Oliver center emblems go to them. Many of us go no without center caps at all. Then with an infrared temp gun you can read hub and bearing temps. You might say it even looks better without. I have a full set with Oliver emblems, very good condition if you like! 😎 Edited December 26, 2025 by jd1923 1 Chris & John in Prescott, AZ | 2016 EII #113 | '01 Ram 2500 Cummins!

Mark - Do you really mean "hub caps" like the ones jd1923 is referencing or do you mean "trailer hub dust caps" like THESE? The reason I ask is that it is rather difficult for the "hub caps" to fall off but (obviously) they are rather easy to "dent" and/or that disk with the Oliver logo that is normally in the center can fall out. If/when you re-install them , you can make sure that they will never again "pop" out if you place a bead of something like "E6000" (THIS STUFF) (which is available at WalMart, Amazon, Ace Hardware, etc.) all around the back side of the disk. Unfortunately, this requires that you remove each wheel in order to get to the back side, but, you will only have to do this once. Mine are going on ten years since I did this and I've not lost a single one since. Geronimo John Posted December 28, 2025 Posted December 28, 2025 I took off my 2019 SS Hub XX + the small round pieces to look like John Davies for the express pupose of maintenance and using a IR thermal gun for brake temp measurements. One less thing to clean or worry about. I have at least two of them that I can donate for thh cost of shipping to any that would like mine. I used them for 2 years. I'll be back to Ollie in June and can inventory and ship then. Mike asked $150 plus shipping to send me a new DOT label for our hull! Ours is faded, hard to read. I had to reply no thank you, close ticket. My thinking is it should have been a no cost item! @Mark Meadows I have a deal for you! Just PM me with your shipping address and I'll send you mine, no cost. I have 4 good used and 2 brand new. If you want the full chrome centers, NP just let me know but shipping would be a little more. Mine living in the SW all look better than yours. Next time, perhaps add sealant like @topgun2 suggested. Mine were on for years NP, so perhaps yours are brushing on something. Or maybe you just take them off as I did. I'm thinking I can hammer the Nev-R-Lub bearing caps to remove the embossing, smooth the surface. Then mount some really cool emblems. The Oliver emblems are boring and these tall centers were designed for the old-style conical bearings that stuck so far out. taylor.coyote Posted December 28, 2025 Posted December 28, 2025 I like the idea of running without to test for heat with an infrared temp gun. This said, we run a lot on dirt/gravel and it's called a dust cap. Shouldn't you keep the dust caps on for the obvious reasons? 2016 Legacy Elite II, Twin Beds, Hull #124 Tow Vehicle: 2019 Ford F250 4x4 / Short Bed / Crew Cab / 6.7 Diesel Fieldbrook, Ca

The true "dust cap" is the cap pressed into the hub of the brake drums (as pictured). Yes, the outer center caps can help in deep mud but are more for cosmetics. 1 Chris & John in Prescott, AZ | 2016 EII #113 | '01 Ram 2500 Cummins!

There are a lot of us towing without the center caps for this reason, starting with @John E Davies who suggested it many years ago. I wish they made flatter centers for Nev-R Lube axles. The standard centers stick out 4 1/2" made deep for the old-style conical bearings. I believe they detract from the look of most mag wheels. I just added these emblems to dress ours up a little! I won't have to read "Nev-R Lube" anymore. Just search for "70mm emblems" and there are hundreds to chose from. Chris & John in Prescott, AZ | 2016 EII #113 | '01 Ram 2500 Cummins!
