Looks like they're really giving the Raptor a run for its money.  It certainly has it beat in the horsepower department, and I like that rear suspension much better.

The cost though - this thing starts almost at what the Raptor tops out at.

Ford has a new Raptor coming out, too, so I'll be interested to see what they do to match the Ram.  I know they'll have a similar rear suspension setup, so the question is what they'll do with the engine.  Some say they'll have to put the Mustang V8 in it, but personally I hope that they stick with a smaller engine and go with a big hybrid instead.  People will love the sound of the V8's of course, but I'd prefer my truck to be as quiet as a mouse.

With either truck, I'd hesitate to recommend them as a tow vehicles unless you really plan to take it offroad.  Though if the coil springs on either one lend themselves more easily to air bags than the current Raptor, then I'd say go for it.

But how fast with an Oliver in tow, now that is the question. National RV Drag championships may be in order. The off-road RV  cross country race, or not. I find it very interesting - much faster, quicker, and costly than the old hot rods of my youth.  We probably weren't as fast as we remember.....there is  a song n there somewhere.

I'll stick with my Diesel, steady and strong.

Right before my junior year at Ole Miss a group of friends and myself borrowed a neighbors pop-up camper and I pulled it to the Great Smoky Mountains to camp for a week. I wonder if my old Vette would pull the Outlaw Oliver? Doubt it.

But, I did see this at the Winnipeg Boler Rally in 2018.

Looks like something I would buy as a play toy, but not to pull the Oliver. Your either going camping, or to a Hot Rod Show, there is a difference you know.

Ford to take on Ram TRX with 750 hp F-150 Raptor, with a supercharged 5.2 l V8 and coil spring suspension.

https://www.foxnews.com/auto/ford-ram-f-150-raptor-pickup

I have to ask, how many of these 700 bhp trucks will get rolled in the ORV Park by intoxicated, under trained, over eager owners - “Hold my beer and watch this!” - and will their insurance pay for it? Most likely not.  I love watching a slow motion video of a lifted truck hooning sideways in dirt, but if the tires contact an immovable object or a hard rut, over it goes, totaled in the blink of an eye.

Off road racer rolls truck, killing eight spectators

For the kind of stunts shown in the TRX and Raptor videos, one of ......  THESE  ........ would make so much more sense. People who actually pay for their own vehicles would never drive a $100,000 truck like that. I think that the marketing for these overpowered offroad trucks is totally irresponsible.
