  2. Here’s my solution External to the trailer so no winterizing issues. UV plugs into the exterior power socket.
  3. The UVC purification faucet comes with a 120VAC/12VDC adapter that plugs in to the faucet. It doesn't come with a separate 12VDC cable. You can either buy a DC5521 connector or you could cut it off from the 12VDC side of the supplied power adapter. Apparently Blutech doesn't think the unit needs to have an On/Off switch even though it draws a small current when on standby. I didn't take pictures during the installation, and now everything is hidden from view. Since we don't have a second awning, I installed a power switch where the streetside awning switch would normally go. I tapped into the refrigerator 12VDC power supply, which is already on a 30 amp fuse, and added an inline 3 amp fuse for the UVC. The wire connections are simple, but routing them like I did requires removal and replacement of the microwave oven. Our cartridge water filters and softener are mounted in our TV, a Sprinter van. Winters are mild in San Antonio. I don't bother with the pink stuff, which shouldn't be used with the filtration system. I use compressed air to clear water from the lines of both the TV filters and the Oliver. If we're expecting unusually cold weather, it's easy enough to remove the softener and filters from the TV. At the time I installed it, Blutech only offered the UVC filter as a faucet. Now they have an inline filter as well as some packages that include a UVC filter with their cartridge filters. I think their inline filter would be hard to fit under the kitchen sink, but it wouldn't require cutting a hole in the countertop. I like the dedicated faucet with UVC filter since it only runs for drinking water, so the 2000 hour UV LED should last longer than if all the kitchen cold water is run through it. Steve

  5. Got my tire pressure monitors installed today at a family run local shop, here’s how the pros do it. Just outside the picture are two stands on either side, not touching the trailer but ‘just in case’ as he said Pretty awesome having all this info now
  6. It’s mainly the height for me. Completely agree with the benefit of a narrow body. My truck doesn’t have a towing mirror option but these work just fine. I’m 6’4, my son is 6’5+, the bed length was a major concern sight unseen. But oddly it’s not at all a problem. The bed is super comfortable and I have enough room, I never think about it. Well occasionally I’ll scootch down the bed a bit and notice my feet are hitting, but that’s an easy recenter. Can’t figure it, this isn’t suppose to work 🤷‍♂️
  7. Geoff, Nice looking job! Our Ollie came with a Furrion DV 1200 unit. The DVD player and remote control operates erratically. Will look at iRV units to replace our old Furrion unit. Thanks for posting!
  8. John, my setup is pretty simple. I run a hose from the camp water outlet to a simple Culligan filter or Camco blue filter, then a short hose to connect to a small water softener, then into the city water port. On Amazon: Water Softener Mike
  9. @Steve and MA and @Mike and Carol, Would you explain your setups a little more please? I'm currently researching water filtration and softening systems and would like more info about the TV setup, how your systems work with the Oliver water system, and any challenges such as cold weather or boondocking. I have a F-150 Powerboost so I have power in my TV. I like the UV faucet idea at the sink for drinking water but would benefit from some photos of the electrical hookup.
  10. Yes the Diamondback is nice. we had one on the Tundra as well.

  12. I have a 2020 with the V8 and have never had any problems with power or going down grades. I do all my towing in "S" and "Tow Haul" modes which makes a big difference, as does having the larger drums with the 5.2k axles. Getting the trailer controller dialed in correctly makes a big difference, too... When it comes to braking, you don't have the larger margin of safety that 3/4 ton trucks do so everything has to be dialed in. I'm with you on a diesel option and would buy one the second it hit the market. Not a fan of *any* of the modern big 3 diesel options and wouldn't even consider one.
  13. Beautiful State Park! Like the Diamondback cover on your Tremor, too! We also have a Diamondback on our F-350. Hope y'all have a Great adventure!
  14. Made it down to the beach. The difference in towing was night and day. Literally no comparison. It’s almost like the Oliver wasn’t behind us. Exceeded my expectations.
  15. Yes, this truck came with the 11000 GVWR package. That gives you the same rear axle and springs as the F350
  16. @mossemi @NCeagle and others: Those of you that have done this modification, how did you caulk the side behind the hinge? I’ve got 2 layers of butyl tape on the vertical sides to offset the curvature of the cabinet. I can caulk 3 sides but not the side behind the hinge. Bill

  17. @Mroth Do you have the original manufacdtures springs on it?
  18. Thanks Geoff, we have been carrying a non-op "Dometic Type 9500E (120 VAC) Power Cassette Awning model 202(LL)(CC).003(#)", around for about 3 1/2 tears hoping to find a service center on a trip, that would have a replacement motor. I will reach out to them as well. B~Out,
  19. Thanks ! I checked the settings and mine were at 11.5. Running fine now but if we experience the issue again I'll bump the setting to 12.1.
  20. Do not buy a "Lippert" replacement part. Sales ppl will say it is a match, but it is not. Tech will say put in the 2nd screw and it will stop that leak. maybe-maybe not. As the ppl at carnivals (not to disparage any OTT owner who has done that) would tell this 10-year-old who just spent his $5 on basketball, ring toss and water pistols, in the midway, "Close, but no cigar, Son"... The upside, I may have found an authorized Dometic dealer to work on our awning... just not before we head-out. B~Out
  21. Hi Bill (et al) - Thanks for the suggestions, I will open a case. To answer your question, for the same reason Ollie owners replace their trailer's springs when they might otherwise appear to be in good shape 😀 Or maybe I'm just paranoid with too much time on my hands? Anyway, I'd like to keep them out of the trash for the time being, at least. It seems to me like they might make a good 'just in case' spare to have. They are small and don't weigh much. Thanks, best Tim
  22. Getting ready to head out to San Clemente state beach. The trailer barely made the truck squat. This truck has some stout leaf springs.I’ll keep you posted about my drive.
  23. Thanks; I'll call 'em.
  24. This is my thought as well. I have really liked having a TT that fits exactly where my TV is and does not hangout wider.
  25. This was discussed in the Escape forum, someone linked a replacement from Panther RV https://pantherrvproducts.com/3314013-026p/ You should give them a call.
  26. Hello Looking for help to source a replacement Dometic 9500E awning motor. A local RV service center (Big Country RV, Redmond OR) investigated my malfunctioning awning (wouldn't extend) and said it needs a new motor assembly. However, they said awning is discontinued (so can't find a replacement motor) and quoted $4,400 for a new awning replacement. I'm hoping to source a replacement motor and I've found motors for the Dometic 9100 awning but none that specify for the 9500 awning. Perhaps they are the same motors but I'm not sure. In addition, if I can find a replacement motor it seems I might need a special Dometic hex key tool to adjust it. Would anyone know where to buy that tool? If I can't find a replacement motor then I'd like to install a manual awning and have it use the same mounting system my 9500 has so I can avoid new holes in the roof. Any recommendations on a manual awning? Thank you, Craig 2020 Hull 612
  27. We upgraded from 1/2ton F150 with eco boost 6 for that same reason. The downhill compression breaking in the diesel engine makes a world of difference and no need for an Anderson hitch as the new truck has antiseay brake controls.
  28. For most of the country the Tundra is fine. I've never had any issues with sway at all and as you say the torque and HP are more than adequate especially with the twin turbos. Colorado however can get a little challenging on the down grades, the 6 cyl engine just doesn't have the engine braking capability that the bigger trucks have. It's too bad that Toyota doesn't offer a diesel version in the States as they do in other parts of the world, political reasons most likely.
