Yep, on the Oliver side, 4 AWG everywhere, front-to-back from the Anderson connector to the rear dinette area. B+ to the Orion in and B- to the ground bus. The Orion B+ out to the new HD +bus and the Orion ground to the Oliver neutral/ground bus directly adjacent to the harness ground. On the TV B+ all the way to the battery. B- to the rear frame. Then two short runs at the starter battery, B+ directly to the alternator and B- to the front of the same frame member as grounded at the rear. Remember, I got 30A charging when the Orion was set to 30A max and I got 40A out when it was set to 50A, with Cummins diesel idling at 800 RPM. We're leaving tomorrow to camp at the NW corner of the Prescott NF. If the road is good, my plan is to camp west of above the Apache Creek Wilderness area (see map). For 20 years we've gone dirt riding in the Prescott NF at the Sheridan Mountain-Smith Mesa OHV area and up to Camp Wood. This time we're heading further north and we do not plan to see a sole once we get up there! Should be an awesome adventure and we also have a brand new Starlink Mini to try out. Plan to activate service today. It will be my first driving test of the Orion 50A charger. There's only 23 miles of paved road at 45-55 MPH, then about 25 miles of dirt, 90+ minutes one-way so not much time to charge. Chris will check the Victron Connect app as I'm towing. We'll get a picture of the charge rate while towing. These are the Motor Vehicle Use Maps that they have of all NFs in Arizona. Not sure if the neighboring states have these or not. Wherever you see dots alongside the Forest Service (FS) roads dispersed camping is allowed. The trick is that some FS roads are good enough to pull a trailer and some are NOT! We'll see when we get there. 🤣 County-5 is Williamson Valley road out of Prescott which is a well graded and maintained road after it turns to dirt. County-125 heading west through Walnut Creek should also be a graded road and I'm hoping that the offshoot FS roads in that area are passible and not blocked by fences since there are patches of private land here and there (the white-out areas on the map).

Installed and tested. Works as intended. I tapped the wires going to the 12V receptacle and installed a cutoff switch which you can see in the photo. I’m not sure if the POE injector consumes power all the time or not, but installing that LED switch guarantees it and the router are off when I’m not using it. The injector has a chassis ground terminal, and I ran a wire back to the common bus. (The instructions said this would help reduce signal interference.) I did have to do ethernet cable surgery on the end going into the waterproof connector at the splitter going into the dish. After many bad words and prayers for forgiveness, I finally got the tiny wires in the right order and pushed through an RJ45 shielded connector. I probably could have got by using a cable intended for indoor use, but I purchased an outdoor rated cable made to the same Starlink standard. The protective boot over the connector was too big to fit inside the waterproof connector, so I had to cut off the end and put on a plain shielded connector.

The early registration might have only included a smaller set of sites. I’d go ahead and try to grab a site. It looks to be a pretty big park, we haven’t camped there yet. I should start another signature map with just Texas State Parks!

Dc to Dc charger Victron Orion 12 I 12 - 30
johnwen replied to johnwen's topic in General Discussion
Hi GJ, Wiring from my vehicle is all 6 AWG to the charger and wiring from the charger to B+ and B- busses are all 6 AWG. I could have used 4 AWG if I trimmed some strands to fit receptacles on the Victron charger but I chose to use 6 AWG on advice from installers. The terminals on my 30a Isolated Victron (4 terminals) will allow up to 6AWG, thus the need to trim strands if larger wire is used. I'm certainly not an expert in this area but this is the way I ended up installing everything. Hope this helps. John -

And I "ASSUME" that you have run a #4 AWG all copper cable from the frame to the B- terminal as well. I have to adopt a different set of charging parameters, and once done will check performance. If it does not improve, then I will likely try adding such cables to the anderson connection at the TV rear bumper and battery. Would certainly prove your hypothsis. BTW: Assume is often spelled Ass of You and ME. LOL -

Ty J: Is this a drain tube? If so it would be simple to penetrate the hull on both sides and pipe them down via the existing Dometic drain tube. GJ

Here’s an interesting fact: In further researching the origin of the Atmos 4.4, I learned that Dreiha also offers 2.5 and 3.5 models, 7.5K and 11K, respectively. However, these units are primarily manufactured for European markets and are 220-240v with R410A refrigerant, but still have the same ‘SANZ’ connections as the Atmos 4.4; German designed and foreign made at one of the aforementioned SANZ Clima facilities. I’m even more convinced there is no China connection with these Dreiha products!

Ty, I’m intrigued. So how have they performed? My hull 292 also did not come with Solar. Would love to drive down the road and charge. Gary -
Victron Multiplus II 3000 - Installation Xantrax Removal

Great info. Getting ready to buy the Victron Multiplex II. Should I get the GX model? I will have 2 280Ah Lithiums (they arrive tomorrow) ‘the 4045CSV replacement board arrives Monday, and I have 380 portable Solar with the controller that came with the panels. Went on Victron site and saw they have 2 boat install vendors in St. Pete, across the bay from Tampa, where I live. The video is great, and let me know this install is above my pay grade. I will reach out to them for install price, so I am good to go for the April Rally. -
With my auxiliary outlet installs, I choose duplex receptacles with USB charging ports, as well. For example:

Metal brackets that hold table up.
Coastal Aggie replied to Olive2Roam's topic in Ollie Modifications
I live alone in my camper so I have ample space on the bed but I made a shelf that is supported by those brackets. It was just a live edge board I had laying around roughly 7 inches wide. Cut one end to match the curvature of the curb side wall and the other end goes just a couple inches past the road side bracket. A piece of aluminum angle iron is what hooks into the brackets secured with the same thumb screws used for the table. Ended up adding a small triangle gusset to keep it from sagging. Once I'm not traveling and have a chance to clean up I'll post a pic. I tend to leave a bunch of stuff kinda shoved under the shelf, as a full timer I never seem to have enough space to store everything while on the road. -

We are currently camping at Mt Madonna County Park near Santa Cruz. Our plans to visit Yosemite were derailed by snow at elevation. We visited Santa Cruz today and will go to Monterey on this stop. Some lovely hikes in park too. From here we will venture to Marin County north of San Francisco for a couple of days to visit my brother-in-law who is a golf course architect and has a job there. Thinking of taking the 101 north from there to Redwoods and into Oregon. Any thoughts on pulling Ollie up that route? Redwoods camping is booked so we would welcome any other ideas.

Hull #527 additional outlet. Some people were asking about adding an additional outlet for 120v possibility. I chose this location over others and I think it turned out well! Happy drilling.
