Heat is conductive, so I believe your app is all you need. If your post heats, the battery temp should go up too. Hoewever, small changes in battery temp might mean larger temps at the post. We have Epoch and I searched through their app and did not find temp (anybody with Epoch please let me know if there is temp reading). You could add Ruuvi sensors on the other two. We use these since in the fridge, freezer, cabin, trunk and on truck fridge and cabin. If I had BB I would move a couple , mount top of each battery near the + post.4 points

We use Tile Pro trackers (by Life360). Works with Android and iOS. Don't know if they are as feature rich as AirTags (don't have an iPhone) but they have several models with different features. https://www.amazon.com/Tile-Life360-Pro-Bluetooth-Compatible/dp/B0D637HWC5/ref=sr_1_19?crid=2XJAY04P3UCDH&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.bO9LSRG-Q2eHGVfY3qcVHIf7ZNIXZ0jEakdV-K7k_LsylnUuOmqcGy1y1rYMhs1V3ByTDGfVetzFThllP0vFn9iWM7HTzU4hz2ioekXd_UnjhNATNzHYQ46Y4UjAwPyAUbcFXq7FqepiYY9ZLAxqHqMm2ZKB_vP-lR5USAiQVijIddJulZNzaBQD76w6inYTfd4IfG-jbosNxodqQaPOUZoa2ehnzJbLDOfEBFpUPoU.fYN5jHbnmqMjz2TA9I1VgJJJJNhHkT9dpjResmsEYIM&dib_tag=se&keywords=tile%2Bfor%2Bandroid&qid=1765854073&sprefix=tile%2Bfor%2Bandroid%2Caps%2C127&sr=8-19&th=12 points

Look up Moki Dugway. It's a road in UT.. the most amazing road I have driven. It climbs 1,300 feet in 3 miles, hanging off a rock face overlooking Valley of the Gods. Valley of the Gods is spectacular but an afternoon drive to the top of Moki Dugway will make a little vertigo set in. and see if you can find Ollie in the below image..2 points

Oddly enough, this thread is linked in a travel video on YouTube that I stumbled across today. 🤪 Jump to 9:382 points

All things being equal, on the battery closest to the load. Though all things are never equal!2 points

We love them! Since this picture we added a Dometic CFX5 45l in the truck bed and I purchased two more Ruuvis. We're always checking fridge/freezer temps, or I'm looking at the trunk temp which is close to outdoor temps. I have one back there to know when the incoming water lines are close to freezing. I'll put one on a battery just to see but we do not have the BBs. Two years ago I purchased a 4-pack of the simple white ones (not PRO model) and from memory it was under $100. Can't find those anymore, only seeing the PRO model. I got two on Walmart.com for about $45 each recently, like these. Anybody find a deal, please let us know! https://www.amazon.com/Bluetooth-Temperature-Pressure-Integrates-Assistant/dp/B0D3MDZCWF/ Picture shows two Ruuvi app screen-prints side-by-side showing how running the A/C while towing brought down cabin temp!1 point

In all of my electrical upgrades, I went with NO physical monitors that would be wall-mounted in the Oliver. I like the cleaner look without and I LOVE the Bluetooth apps! 😎 I do have one of those sensors that came with the Victron shunt which I have in a box of extra parts. We have Epoch Essentials 300 Ah, ran two for 600 Ah last 18 months. Installing this week a 3rd 300. Given all this news, I will place a Ruuvi sensor there to measure heat for a while, but with 900 Ah I'd have to run our A/C, our Air Fryer and run a power cord to another RV to run their A/C to get anywhere the 600A of continuous power (2x for peak use) the spec of these batteries. 3x the 100 Ah Battleborns vs. 3x 300 Ah Epoch? 300 vs. 900 Ahs, we live in different worlds.1 point

Three way selector switch to the 712. One in, three options out. Would of course need three of the temperture sensors. GJ1 point

To use a Samsung Air tag with a Google Pixel Phone you would need to get the uTag App. For me, the non-gadget person, it seems to be rather involved with the steps required to access the airtag🙃1 point

For sure we KNOW where to put that temp sensor. B+ Terminal!!! Now which one. The Back of the battery bay, the middle b+, or the outside B+ .... That's a question for the Battery Smarter Owner to answer. GJ1 point

Here to date, there has not been any reason to connect the free port on the 712 system. I even have the temperature probe in my spare parts onboard. Looks like the Victron folks did us a favor. GJ1 point

Staying in the Valley of the Gods tonight. Unlike Monument Valley you are free to camp at any pullout or road spur. We were graced with a freshly graded road and parked the trailer about 5 miles in, just outside of the canyon on the east side of the 17 mile loop. We explored farther up the road. We could have made the loop but decided the sharp dips and rougher road was more than we wanted Ollie to endure. a few images:1 point

Going to ask again in a slightly different manner. Has anyone had a catastrophic or near catastrophic outcome as a result of this feature/defect with the BB batteries? On the surface, it does appear that there could be an issue that warrants close monitoring. On the other hand, if users are unlikely to stress the batteries and/or the connections which can lead to the overheating and subsequent arcing condition - I'm not sure there is an immediate need for removal or a large scale recall. As has been discussed, a recall of 400,000 batteries would probably end up bankrupting the company - although the bad press from this issue may do that anyway. Not saying this is the case, but the headlines that get you to click on a story lead to more $$$ for the person writing the article.1 point

Monument Vally We are camped in the only open campground in Mounment Valley and there are only two other rigs tonight. We are lucking out with amazing weather and empty parks. Tonight's sunset. I generally avoid shooting classic images that have been shot by 10,000 phtotogrphers that are better than me. These are so classic, I wanted the images.,.. enjoy1 point

My take… 😎 If you own one or more 100 Ah Battleborn batteries you purchased years ago, let it go and it‘s time to scrap them! For $670 (less than what you spent on one (1) 100 Ah Battleborn you can purchase the new 320 Ah LiiTime mini! BTW, so cool! Or for $1200 (I just purchased a 3rd one at 15% OFF for their BF promo) you can buy the Epoch Essentials 300 Ah battery! We’ll be running 900 Ah for 2026 and beyond, so cool! 😎1 point

These Air Tags are really cool, though I hope to never have to track down stolen property! I drove yesterday to fill the Oliver LP tanks plus two tanks we have on our deck for the grill and fire ring. So, I was at the Ford dealer on Sandretto Drive, waiting on the tanks being filled (see pic). Two tags for my keys and truck were at this address. The Oliver is shown parked at home and our GX was at an address on Lee Blvd. When I got home, Chris was already home and I mentioned, "So, you went to Trader Joe's?" She asked, "How did you know?" I replied, I tracked you!" Chris has a Samsung phone, so she did not get a tracking notification.1 point

Monument Valley tonight. Took quick and dirty images from Goulding campground. Will tour the loop tomorrow. Weather is still amazing,. 60 day time 30ish night and clear as a bell.. very nice but no clouds makes for boring photography. Slow / slack season and few people.. good time of year to visit. Dinosaur tracks off AZ Hy 160 on the way to monument valley..0 points
