1. We have always used the DC setting while towing. We let the tow vehicle supply the power, it's running anyway. What we have found is that DC will not cool down a refrig., but will keep it cold. We cool it with either AC or propane. We cool it,switch to DC, and go. We have seen propane "blow out", and just to be on the safe side, we turn it off. We know it is vented to the outside, but also know propane is heavier than air. So to be safe, off it goes...

 2. We use propane normally during travel. Except when we travel through tunnels or some restricted highways where the propane must be turned off, then we use the 12VDC to power the refrigerator.

 3. Thanks very much for the info. I agree 100% that Scepter cans are wonderful if you can stomach the cost, but there is nothing wrong with using high quality steel NATO cans. I was cautioning mfantich to not use a "plastic jug". My steel cans are 30 years old and the only thing I have done to them is touch up the outside paint and add new gaskets. As you pointed out, you won't find Scepter fuel cans sold at any USA source because they are not CARB legal. There are many sources for legal and affordable milspec steel cans. I can't recommend the $30 Chinese knockoffs in any way. Watch the torture test video at the bottom. It includes 2 minute flame testing but they don't leave it in a burning environment until it blows up. http://www.roverparts.com/Parts/JC3009 A good source for good (but not the best) steel cans follows, but these are not CARB legal and are labeled Not For Fuel. They also have gaskets and spouts, and free shipping if you order a set of four cans. These are slightly thinner steel but still certified, unlike the Chinese junk. http://deutscheoptik.com/cart.php?m=search_results&headerSearch=Y&search=Jerry+can I've seen countless pics of jeeps and overland rigs and I can't recall ever seeing Scepter fuel cans on the back or roof. That isn't to say they would not be a terrific choice, but there is no need to get that extreme to have safe and reliable fuel storage. John Davies Spokane WA

 4. As of March 1, 2017, we have 28 travel trailers and 40 rally attendees registered for the Oliver rally. We have lots of plans scheduled and will soon post them on the Homepage under the Rally tab

 5. Hello Stuart and Nonie, Like you, we also looked at Airstreams and there is a dealership not to far from our house. We went down there a couple of times and knew exactly what we wanted, a 25FB... But after watching their forums and seeing all of the maintenance issues, along with needing to tow it with a larger Gas Guzzler that we have, our choice was easy and for the last 2 weeks, we've have been happily living in our new Oliver Elite II named the Lil' Nugget and we're still getting around 20mpg. Yesterday we made it to the Atlantic Ocean for the first time ever and we had started out on February 3rd from all the way over in California. So you can see that we travelled along way to pick up our new Olli and this was after many hours of researching all of the different brands that we knew of. In the end, it was Airstream and Oliver that were left standing, but there was really no comparrison between the 2. Oliver won, hands down, well ahead of any other competition. We wish you the best of luck in your search and you have found a great place to get started :)

 6. Hold the phone! The Oliver cushions are not cheap cushions… When I sat on it for the first time I could do nothing but smile. They're not cheap trailer cushions! They are high-quality, with great comfortable density, and I think you could get away with a 2 inch Tempur-pedic cover to make it the most restful sleep you've ever had. Thank you

 7. We bought the 3" Temperpedic for ours from Costco and you can't feel the seams in the cushions at all. This gives us the ability to roll up the Temperpedic with sheets, blankets and all on rainy days and have people in to play cards or what ever. We did put an actual queen size mattress in our Casita and then added shelves on one side. Unfortunately we never took a picture of it but you can basically see what we did inside, in the beginning of this video and we have the same set up in our Lil' Nugget, right now. It was very comfortable but with the Oliver Latex King upgrade, coupled with the 3" Temperpedic topper, our mattress is in need of a new home now. The shelving unit is still at home along with the rest of our gear, and that will be going in when we get home in another month. It's held in place by the cushions and it's simply a U shaped circular PVC frame with a piece of 12" x 48" shelving attached to it. It was another accessory from Little House Customs that works really well.
