  1. I had similar - a little light compound and buffer took care of it for the most part - had a few spots that required some 1000 grit to get it all out. I also had the sloppy floor glue - 3m adhesive cleaner took care of it very well. And O/S also - on the outside ??? All were cover with a good wax - Meguiar's is hard to beat. Guess Oliver does this a a no cost addition to the owner.
  2. Well, I have several dry bags - small - large and XL - Will not take much to try this idea out. Worth a try - although I believe one of my numerous 5 gal buckets would work better.
  3. Wooooo.... Texas is a big state. Tip to tip (E-W, W-E) about 40+ times in the last several decades. Lots of piney woods - if that's your thing, _ East Texas - Lake of the Pines has few places, All the way down the LA/TX border, just too many to mention. Some cool places around Big Bend. It would be much simpler to know which part of the Lone star state you will be exploring. Other than a few places in West TX - Verizon is everywhere - can't remember last time I lost a signal - perhaps - Big Bend I think. I love the term civilization - one persons sample is another's desolate wasteland. One area I have on my list to explore -NW corner of the panhandle - above Amarillo. And one winter down on the SW coastal areas. You asked for specifics I know - One can spend many months there and still have much to explore. I once lost a Winnebago MH in Houston - long story - but we found it later that night - right where we left it. Ha Ha it involved Rugby and - well you can imagine. RB

  5. Fiberglass eating mutant termites - for sure, But its those pesky Martians that bother me - them and their Holographic AS spaceships - blasting around the universe (with rotting floorboards) looking for the very exclusive and scarce Oliver TT. Alien envy - my worst nightmare.
  6. Some of us Oliver owners just don't have theft at the top of our worry list - its not in my top 25...were I to have a worry list. However, to each their own. Being tech savvy or not - I suppose an armed geekie guard would work, a bit expensive, and overkill. I'm sure you will find your comfort level, and move on to enjoying Ollie. A similar concern - would be a TPS to monitor tires. Statistically a much better subject to focus on than theft. Happy trails RB My offer is still valid....

Well, I had to go back to the BOS to remember what we paid - what my wife had written on the file was incorrect - my bad. 2018 twin bed EII base (with couch cushions) = $54,100 --- 2022 = $62500 ?? Options = $11,792 - Solar, AGM's, inverter, 30LB, access door, Truma, Natures head ,fiber granite, quick disconnects, sto basket, shower track, easy start, omni antenna, elec door lock. and rear rack assembly (self installed) $call it $66k pre tax. Some what mixed apples to oranges if 2022 includes some options that are now standard - Base to base -+ $8400 for the comparison. I was off a bit - 😬😬😬

  10. I can see the $$$ adding up fast - If I were to purchase my 2018, in 2021, and add the tax - I'm over $80K.... And I would not be an Oliver owner. (we are barely in 2021) So you now wait almost a year for delivery??? A travel trailer - no matter how good - is not worth that to me - I strained (mentally) at what I paid in 2018. Add a nice TV - and your talking real money. I would be building my own Earth roamer. Seems I'm keeping mine - but any sale will reflect the new values. Rejoice Oliver owners - we made some portion of $5k this year - were you to sell. Whew - gold in them thar Oliver's!!! As a side note - how interesting - this thread morphed from there to here and around - the deer in my fields - big - small, pretty - ugly - smart, stupid, are selectively added to my freezer. They eat my vegetables - they pay the price.
  11. So the base price as listed on the Oliver web site is incorrect? it is actually $62,500? Hmmm, That is a price hike - resin must have gotten expensive - I can see how $80k is achievable.
  12. You mentioned persons dinking around your truck- my reference was to that. Perhaps they were not riff raff - my bad. Please take my comments in the manner intended: a contrast to people dinking around in your gear and the bandits - raccoons,- assaulting our campsite in ARK. They were definitely - riff raff!! One should not make assumptions about others - it is a highly mobile world, my time in TN pales in comparison with the other places I once called home. I've resided a substantial amount time above 7k', flat it was not. Montana is one of my fav's. All in good natured intention. Please accept my apologies if I offended you. RB
  13. And it applies here. Thank you John...and others down the line. As for added windows to see the riff raff - it seems we don't camp in similar places. As Jim mentioned, the 4 legged bandits seem to be an issue at times. I appreciate your query Voyager, but as it is an oft repeated inquiry to this forum, sometimes we respond with amusement and fun replies. A wet bath is just that, don't like it, purchase something else, not enough height, similar. However, want to discuss the better options: LI v AGM, v wet cell, solar or not, Truma v suburban water warmer - fine - there is a lot of good experienced answers to be had - for free. Which RV is better - who knows - I like mine, that is all that matters to me. I was serious about the folks following to see the inside. It happens - a lot. More than one AS owner left seriously re-thinking their choice. Happy trails RB - I like taking the bait...... as long as the hook is barbless...
  14. You will soon come to find - there are few on the second hand market- new are 10 -11 months out. Figure out what you want from the Oliver offerings - if anything - and perhaps a used one will pop up that fits your desire - and snap it up. If there would have been any pre owned available when we purchased ours from Oliver - I would have seriously considered one. But - like Hens teeth - pretty scarce.
  15. I asked for a nice pink and purple hued wavy stripe- it was rejected by my boss. With the current choices- seems perfect - simple choice - no choice.
  16. And I always thought it was just me. Not really a big issue for us - ever. You are correct - a really well thought out shower curtain system- makes the difference. I use the KISS principle - a few well placed suction cup thingies, along with the factory rail - keep the dry half dry, and the wet half wet. When done, it is relocated to the front port side cubby corner - and held to dry in place with the bungie suction cup thingies... takes little effort. One of these days I will custom cut the shower curtain and hem it - you know the professional look. Na- just gonna keep enjoying the day.
  17. As always - Oliver owners have great advice - from real world experience. I have always thought the Airstream interiors were attractive and well laid out - livable. But in the end - depending on your intended usage - merely lipstick on a pig. My advice - and expensive - go purchase the Airstream of your choice - live with it - use as you will. You may end up loving it and happy with the purchase. But - Don't spend a year- pulling it - the Airstream - all over the country- trying to boondock in places that are really cool and off the beaten path, only to eventually cozy up to an Oliver in the next site over. And certainly don't ask the occupant about the solar and battery system, the ease of use, towing, and overall satisfaction. Stay in the Airstream - slipstream. you don't need the second guessing. But honestly, I don't care what you purchase. I have enough aggravation with those who keep chasing me down along the road, waiting for me to pull over - so they can look at the Oliver. Airstream owners are the worst - I just feel so bad when they leave muttering to themselves. Happy trails.
  18. Check voltage at the pump - no voltage - trace back to problem. 12v at pump - hmmm. Try to visually verify there is nothing in the pump - blocking action. With pump on - tap it a few times - a swift but gentle tap - if nothing happens, its probably a bad pump.

  21. 10 month wait - WOW. And Oliver gets $$ up front - I always said it was a great business. I don't believe you will need the Anderson, for the towing, but what is the payload rating of your TV. You should take a look at that number. Not sure what the hitch weight of an E1 would be at full capacity. And respectfully - all the fanfare from cars.com is worth what they cost - nothing. The actual numbers - printed on your vehicles GVWR sticker are the legal ratings. That is the DNA. Welcome to the group.
  22. Much of my wife's family and my oldest son live in phoenix - I think they just experienced a large succession (143) of days 100 plus, and 34 above 110. Not for me....... I head to elevation when we visit. The Oliver lithium package may need a dedicated cooler in that temp set. Now the winter season - perfect.
  23. As usual - lots of experience backed replies. Oliver owners love to share. On awnings - I love the shade protection - but honestly, they are just not as usable in real time. The weather plays havoc on them - as long as your in camp - great - leave for 5 minutes (or retire for the evening) - and the wind sneaks up and tears them off....... I originally order port and starboard awnings, and cut that to just the one. Durability is not a strong point. Additional supports and tie downs are the hot ticket to keeping them healthy - at least where the wind likes to blow. I can't imagine trying to deal with two of them. The Truma - could go either way - I have the Truma- it does save me water and energy over time. Cost effective - ask me in 10 years... Bill is spot on with the counter upgrades. The composting toilet - my take is - its all about how you use the Oliver - stick to RV sites with full hook ups - not worth the change - like to boondock- stay off the beaten path - is a very nice thing to have .. I like my Natures head - it fits our camping profile. I have no use for the phone/WIFI/rear camera upgrades - Tech moves to quickly for me - I add as it improves. But I try to get away from that need in any case. Solar - for me - it is too early in the product/design cycle to do anything but the AGM's. Oliver does a good job with the actual install - adding LI later - as it improves seems the better decision. With my set up, AGM solar, compost, 30lb propane - we can stay off grid almost indefinably - water is transportable and easily pumped in, the toilet -similar - no need to move to empty, With no need for AC - don't need shore power - or get a small gen set. Propane is transportable. Honestly - this is why we enjoy our Oliver - it frees up possibility, we can go anywhere- within reason- and stay as long as we desire. Freedom. Good luck.
  24. Given the backlog of orders in the Oliver supply chain I would have to believe a new model is not in the forefront of the Oliver mindset. Increasing production and improving process throughput and improving initial quality seem much better targets. Quality is a very expensive thing to fix - after the fact. Incremental improvements in margins - especially in the additional options would be the smart move. From what I've seen, the service guys have turned the corner - from necessary product support, to profit center. Certainly nothing to complain about as a business decision. I could see a time when the Elite I is put on hold, or given specific order/production timing. Maximizing the higher margin Elite II, (my guess) developing new high margin add on options and product improvements just makes sense. Developing a new model- is very expensive, stresses engineering and design, and bottlenecks the already stressed production schedule. I am not optimistic on the idea of a new larger Oliver. However - how about some sort of new options offerings, after sale add on - improvement on OEM offering. Where is the Oliver online store? Where the additional cool stuff is available for purchase: Shower mats (yes, Oliver branded), Replacement table tops, counters , Oliver fitted bedding, fixtures, Oliver designed front end protection, rear wheel "mud flaps", and on.... This stuff would be high margin, easy to design, and have someone else manufacture- drop shipped on demand. Oh, right, When we catch up to orders, well think about it---- RB
  25. Legacy Elite II - NARV - I just now caught that JD. 😃 Not an RV - I'm curious- what do you call it- I guess I could come up with a few ideas - but I just call mine the Oliver. Haven't named it- or thought about a defining moniker - its just our $70k roving home on 4 wheels - one that does not get near enough use. I have an Oliver. I am just too simple. And to keep on point - an Oliver - towed 2500 miles is still better (In my opinion) than a "new" anything else. RB
