  1. I need to measure the tray - seems the 12V 400AH 5DM Module | Lithionics Battery will come close to fitting the space. Two 400 - hmm the future looks interesting. These folks have a lot of good product data and systems info. Thank you for the heads up.
  2. And two for the celebration!! Good adjustment. Never seen the bottle capping system on spirits before - just my beer creations. Nice. I've toted bikes all over most of the USA - hanging off the rear of the Ollie. It can be a dirty, destructive environment. I moved my more expensive and "fragile" bike to under the topper shell of the truck - the more robust MTB's - fare fine in the muck of the Ollies contrails. I have threatened to make a waterproof cover that fits two and is easily installed and removed. However, it is on the list, the list, somewhere, on a list. RB Edit - I am sure the new Ollie design is fine for intended purposes, I firmly believe the old, original design, is much more robust., and pliant to my - not intended uses.
  3. Same here - was a nice brisk evening at 7PM. woke up to 1/4 inch of the white stuff - roads and most solid surfaces clear. Soon, very soon, it will be springtime in the SE, lovely - yet - soon my son will have gone from verbally poking / bragging about 80 degree winter days in central AZ to complaining about the hellish heat of the coming summer. Nice pics Bill.
  4. Alternate viewpoint - If the delivered pressure is set to the max spec as a design requirement- fine - perhaps Oliver should cover this during delivery. Full disclosure would help alleviate the concerns of new Oliver owners - many often new to the RV trailer world. Tire pressures are clearly posted on the GVWR/Tire load ratings label pasted to the Outside of the Oliver shell. Perhaps - we as Owners- new or otherwise - have a responsibility to be better self -informed on our purchase The central point of my comment - was directed towards the roles of service as it pertains to Manufacturing roles and responsibilities. I have and will continue to point out where the two cross - in error - in the Oliver world. This forum - to its credit- is very open to the feedback of customers, past, current, and future. A reoccurring theme - and real-time in many instances- are customers with real concerns - some minor, some not, and some abhorrent. A brake system not complete and disconnected is a major miss where as tire pressure - within the design range- not so. An emergency brake disconnect cable - to short to accomplish the original design intent- knowingly delivered to the customer, is somewhere in the middle - it will work, but it was not correct. I fully realize - it is possible- an issue of concern, may not have been accurately portrayed here to the forum readers. Part and parcel of participation. As good as Oliver may be in "quality" clearly there is room for improvement. One could make a case that Oliver has "historically" experienced lapses in the production process, and relied upon Jason and crew to make the repair. Still, Oliver ranks well in the RV universe. We all hope they continue to earn the status. For my part - tire pressure is an objective design spec - that is subjectively applied to the situation at hand. I made no recommendation as to appropriate settings - only to the issue of responsibility. I would guess- an experienced guess - the supplier has their specs for delivery, Oliver may or may not verify, and the tires/wheels are installed, and the unit goes on its merry way. Does Oliver have a second level verification, not my concern. In any case - add the subject to the delivery process - and the new informed owner can tell the well meaning crusty 60 year young observer - perhaps 80 psi seems high, but its in the design range - I'll need to adjust as I get more acquainted with my new unit. A confident and informed Oliver owner is a satisfied Oliver owner. Off my soapbox - moderate away. 😉 Respectfully, A certified, well meaning, almost Old guy. Edit - I target 55psi in my EII- run tire pressure/temp monitors. And visually inspect tires/wheels/ chassis most every stop.
  5. For reasons mentioned - I prefer the standard - non moving. One less thing to quit working, adds a little more protection, and I actually like what they add to the Trucks looks. And for the title of this thread -the best TV - 3/4 ton - is with out a doubt - one that's paid in full!! RB Come on Spring - I am so done with winter - and yet it is just a TN winter.
  6. That got right past me - In my former life - auto manufacturing - Tire pressure was simply another quality spec to be met and monitored. Oliver is certainly missing the boat here. It is a production issue - service should verify - but the manufacturing folks own this.....its similar to torque specs - inherent to the process. Unless Oliver has no spec - then its a complete miss. Perhaps the only requirement is the tires hold air. 😬😬 Miffed. RB
  7. Welcome to the club -Andria. We are here to help... RB
  8. And that is why - TN is such a bargain - one less income reduction drag, my stuff is mine - without state rental fee, etc... Regardless of expenses - (I will not argue with your assertion here - maybe over an adult bev one evening) ) TN somehow seems to keep within the income - expense equation. TN's don't expect as much - per capita - as some.... Not to dip into investment income theory - as long as I keep my income low - the feds get little to fuel your concerns - wealth creation is not always taxable - upfront..... And with the recent fed give backs - I may come out within earshot of even this year ....🤑🤑🤑 And My Oliver is still a great RV - Don't tell any one in the Fed - it may become something of note....
  9. As I thought !!!! I expect the write up post haste.
  10. Ok - you guys just kill me - never satisfied - I like it. But if your gonna change to a new braking system - seems a regenerative - lets charge the batteries every time I slow - system. I'm sure some one is thinking about this as I type - Yeah - pull the brake/motors off this wrecked Tesla - they will fit just so, install a discombobulater recombiner thingie - and presto - My home built LI system is fully charged every time I come down the other side of the mountain..... RB
  11. TN - you pay sales tax up front - tags are about $30 year. No Income tax , no personal tax, very low property tax. Sales tax - 8-10% depending on location. Hard to beat. RB
  12. Interesting - As the other guys have entered this segment - the offerings have a little for everyone. I must admit - after looking at a new Ram (I can't get past Dodge - ) the options, fit and finish - are just so far improved from trucks of just a few years ago. Competition is great for the customers. I do get a kick out of seeing folks (younger dudes) in my area - driving a new $90 K Raptor - or clone - knowing the only off road they usually see is the dirt road to the lake. 😄 Were I in the Southwest - My GMC 2500 would be looking sad - as I replaced it with a more nimble desert/rock sled...... FORD: No need for a hybrid - we got 800 ponies under the hood........ Just kills me - the engines we have today are amazing. RB
  13. I too thought about building my own battery - that is how I found Will. As for $80 K a month - more power to him. I have way too many irons in the fire as it is - but just learning about and understanding the technology is cool - and I will say from what I've found - Battle Born is very transparent and open with customers and the industry - my kind of business. I understand why they have a ten year warranty - experience. RB
  14. Interesting - the insides of the Battle born $950 "Battle Born" Battery Tear Down - YouTube
  15. My experience with the Honda gen sets has always been positive. But if you can't get one - For the $$$, and availability problems - Champion Power Equipment 2500 Watt Ultralight Portable Dual Fuel Inverter Generator-100899 - The Home Depot or Champion Power Equipment 2500-Watt Recoil Start Gasoline Powered Inverter Generator with Champion 79 cc Engine-100889 - The Home Depot fit the bill. HD say they can be had within a few days and they are 1/2 the price of the Honda. Seems a good choice given the availability issues. HD is damn good about returns. RB
  16. Sheri, Take some time away from the forum - go read the Owners manual a few times. Perhaps a few of your concerns will be answered. It is especially hard to trouble shoot an issue remotely - Oliver folks on this forum are pretty good at doing so, however. Although Oliver has installed at least two different brands of Refrigerator, all of them are three way powered, and operate in very similar manners. AC power (Shore), DC (battery), or propane. The code you say you have indicates it is looking for AC- and there is none to be had. It must be set on AC power. Could be other issues - start there - but make sure the AC switches in the panel are on, and all fuses are good. Highly unlikely they are the issue. You should have it set on auto - unless - you specifically want it to run off a particular energy source. Verify you have at least one energy source -no AC, have propane on - turn both tanks on. DC - look at the Solar display - (That thingie I showed you on the rear upper wall) does it show at least 12 volts. You should be good to go. Does your manual on the Norcold refer say anything about a reset - if so follow the procedure. Otherwise - do what the manual says to do for each phase of the trouble shooting guide. No guide do the following. Turn it - the refer off, let it sit a min - turn it back on, set to auto. You may need to hold the button down for a few seconds - If not working, try setting to propane, no work, try DC. I would not bet money this is Oliver's fault. I have made a few misjudgment's on my own unit - and after study found I was just not doing something correct. As for what RV to purchase - I am not on the payroll - don't care what you buy. The Escape folks - well they are fine people - I'm told. Oliver RV - you decide. Most all here have done so at least once. Good luck We are all pulling for you. RB
  17. Let us know the outcome Nan. I am interested. RB
  18. Richard, I cannot remember what the interval quoted in the manual states - but I grease mine at least twice a year - depending on mileage, and once a year - again depending on mileage, - clean and repack the bearings. As for authentic Timken's - I would find a reputable dealer - most auto supply house will probably have to order, a good bearing supply dealer will have them. I used Amazon- will not next time. I replaced one side because under inspection I found a slight deformity - in all reality it would most likely have been fine. Some folks are more inclined to shorten the interval, some go the other way - I just try to use distance on the bearings to decide the interval. Quite honestly - if I was not running about the country - and stayed relatively close to home - I would double this interval. I have yet to do my farm use tandem axle bearings - in 7 years - greased them a few times..... Mike pointed you to the posts. with all the needed info. Good travels RB
  19. Yep - JD I did not consider that point. However, when I install 2 of the 400ah behemoth's - problem solved. But that is in my homebuilt earth roamer - currently under construction in the recess of my mind. By the time I get to needing BB batteries - perhaps they will have fixed your issue with cell monitoring. RB
  20. I have thought about this feat of engineering and execution for a few days now, and I must assume you have access to a machine shop or the equipment to make those wonderful PVC blocks, and press fit terminals. I too wondered about the stress on the terminals - but then the original wire is not all that compliant either, so perhaps only time will tell. My hat is off to you sir. I vote your effort as mod of the year - solar division. 🤑 Now - if we can get Battel born, or a competitor - to just manufacture a single 400 amp hour LIfepo battery - with just one set of neg/pos terminals , that fits neatly into the standard Oliver tray - our lives will become much improved. RB I must not have the correct app to open the attachments - any help?
  21. Depending on date - you should be able to reserve additional days - I would use the system to just add the additional days - It is a really nice and well maintained Park. RB
  22. Just depends- I don't recall any excessive pressure at any of the places we have used the water. However, mine is just part of my set-up, which also includes a filter. At my home - the pressure is about 110 - better have a reducer - the hose will not last long - esp in the sun. I have full pressure on the outside faucets
  23. The contents - In a plastic bag - to the closest trash receptacle/container. About every three weeks when in use. Love my Natures Head "honey" composter.
  24. I really like Overland's setup - but it doesn't work for our situation. I went with a Leer top. I can store my road bike (or any bike) out of the weather. Plus I have a place to store almost anything we need. Endless possibilities on how one sets up their storage and hauling setup. And with another rack on top - my kayak and other water craft have a place to go. I think it all comes down to personal preferences.
