  1. The Anderson, as stated, mounts under the fiberglass, to the frame - the only WD that seems to work without modification to the Oliver. JD (a regular forum contributor) has a well documented tutorial on this forum regarding the switch to the larger Bulldog. I'm sure Oliver has contacts for transport to customers. However, towing across country, given no time constraint - is just a series of short hops - towards the destination. RB
  2. Well - Bill you have much to look forward towards - Have a great 2021
  3. Lauri, I am with JD, almost any security device can be defeated given planning, tools, and time. Given your situation - a questionable storage site - the distance from home for regular visuals, I would probably do as John has suggested. 1. Put it on jack stands -wheels/tires removed. Tires/wheels stored at home. 2. Best locking device I could afford installed on the tongue. Yes - this sounds extreme. Yes - it is much more work. Percentage of theft - very low-to not gonna happen. Well I suppose a really motivated thief would bring his own wheels----- Would I go this far - only once I had failed to find a storage site closer to my home base. Or - just fully insure - and forget about it. Welcome to the Oliver clan. RB.
  4. My LP alarm is fused - located in the rear port access area. Don't ask me why I know this. RB
  5. Welcome - And Congratulations. That is how one starts off a new year!! RB
  6. All should be Ok - given your heating the interior. I would have drained the WH, RB
  7. I've used them to power my portable fridge/freezer, and other DC powered thingies. RB
  8. When you pick up your unit - Oliver does a good once over to introduce you to all the various systems, and it can be an all consuming - data overload for some. Try to take your time, take notes, and insist on reviewing anything you don't fully understand. As you go through the review - look at everything - fit, finish, action, workability, - anything that catches your discerning eye - make a note of it - and come back to it at the end. Run every system you can - Oliver will/should take care of your concerns. If possible take advantage of the night in the local campground - and test every system - make sure it works properly. As you are just down the road from the Service shop - any issues can be remedied quickly. Take time to read and review the owners manual - it is amazing what happens when one reads the instructions (note to me!!) As I think back - There would have been a few issues to clear up - all minor. I did have an issue with the furnace (didn't run it at delivery) - which required a return. Over time there have been other issues - but most were not initial quality failures. Luckily, I'm just a few hours drive from the Oliver factory - and every issue has been taken care of by the service folks. I am a satisfied customer - were I to purchase again- I would do just as I have posted - but mo better! RB
  9. Good to see the numerous replies with real world examples. I don't ever recall any posts that indicated a Toyota Tundra, or Sequoia, were not capable TV's for the EII. A good many referenced suspension upgrades and minimalist carrying characteristics - (payload), I find it interesting a Magnusson supercharger is now on the docket for KatanaPilot's Toyota. That should make a real difference. I am positive - there are a few forum members- who having read these posts- are musing to themselves - ahh the inevitability of it all - Mr. Anderson. (Neo) Happy Holidays all. RB
  10. Same to you Bill.
  11. Interesting - a generator disguised as a Ford Truck. I find it amusing - as many seek out alternative means of energy to replace the old carbon based systems- too often the consequences of said "new clean" energy source are ignored. A turbo powered, carbon fuel based engine to power an inverter system - to supply the electrical current needed to run an RV, a worksite, a whatever - are are all wrapped in a package of coolness - labeled a hybrid - A pig with new age lipstick. I suppose one could use the PTO of a similar new age truck to mechanically run a generator/inverter - add some brightly flashing gauges, a few cool monitors depicting power usage - add a battery bank as a buffer (stored under the bed) Yes it would not be as efficient - but none the less - its the same thing - massive overkill in cost, and fuel usage. No luddite here - just a common sense, rational thinking human. It is a long and winding road. RB
  12. Give it about 30K to break in......
  13. Ummmmm, No . You couldn't handle the return inspection review........
  14. For all but ambulance/wrecker/up fitters the 220 is plenty - . If you intend to do some upgrades with heavy amperage requirements - the added cost is minor in the whole. You get two batteries with the diesel anyway. Air suspension - no idea - I tend to go with simplicity - regular suspension has been fine on my GMC - but perhaps a few forums out in the WWW will have some reviews or comments as to its effectiveness and reliability. Good travels.
  15. I'll add - I really love my 2500 diesel -however - Ford and GM have new large displacement gas engines out this year - Ram can't be far off. Give them a few years - I may look at the gas powerplant - GM still mates it to a 6 speed - due to availability- About 450 hp and torque - at 5k rpm vs 2k for diesels. Why- initial upfront $$ of diesel (ok I've eaten that,,,) is a bummer - gas is mo better $$ Less $$ operating - between oil changes, fuel filters, DEF, the gas engine is more economical - fuel mileage a little less, but fuel is cheaper.... And when the world opens up again - diesel is a little less available north and south of the US. BUT - my current TV is really perfect, and it paid for so....
  16. According to JE Oliver service - its an problem code . Mine did similar - its an error code- all the monitors are wired in series - one goes bad - they all read/go bad. Ended up being a bad connection on the black tank sensor. I used that area for storage - seems it somehow caused an intermittent signal loss - and the error code. I was not able to located the exact place in the wire that had the issue - I simple took the stuff out of the area, and all has been fine since - I can recreate it by applying force to the wire loom. Not worth the time to tear it all apart - for now. I don't use black tank - it contains nothing but AIR- for whatever reason it has always read out as 10% full. I would surmise its the monitor "thingie" on the tank not reading correctly. Oh well. McB - check the connections on/at the tank locations- black/grey/fresh. One of those has an issue - or somewhere in-between. RB
  17. I'm with JD here. It may seem efficient and $$ wise as a design, but has no real redundancy. Were I to redo my system - JD's plan would be the path I took. As for Xantrex - my experience with them- on another Oliver's inverter troubles was nothing short of explemporary! They did everything possible to help the customer. On another note - I ran my inverter solid for about a month - powering a portable freezer - never waivered.
  18. On the Sprinter forum (few years back) - one system outlined and used a 2000w inverter, running off the TV system, to power an AC NOCO smart charger. Now - it was all contained within the Sprinter, the inverter wired appropriately - per MB specifications- within about 2' of the Battery/DC buss. The charger was located near the house battery. It worked fine - but- seems a little iffy trying to run an AC circuit between a TV and the RV/battery charger. Properly wire and fused appropriately - perhaps. I'm still in the cheap gen set arena. I can see that changing in 3-4 years - given the rate of techno innovation. RB
  19. Love it - had to do search- From a not so boondocker : Campendium review: "Why anyone would want to actually camp there, other than for a wilderness trip, is beyond me. That's why the FS deactivated it. There are tons of better spots including the FS's Turpin Meadows Campground just down the road. There are tens of thousands of acres of pure Forest Svc dispersed camping all over Togwotee Pass. If you want to get away this is the place!" Therefore - its on my 2021 list - its right up my alley - is there good fishing near by?? RB
  20. As 2020 quickly approaches its end - thank you- my thoughts wandered off to 2021. Putting aside - for a moment- the "rona" implications - planning for the next journey - had me thinking on where we have been - and which was the most satisfying - where scenery met serenity- and was overall an great camping spot. There are many we really enjoyed - but for 2020 - boondocking off a county road - perched on a bluff over looking the vast valley leading into Dinosaur National Monument - was the number one. It was tough choice - one with great competition. What was your number one.
  21. I agree - the Webber is one of my most used accessories - I now line it with HD aluminum foil - makes clean up very easy - I reline only when it gets pretty - cruddy. The dual propane ports - second only to the solar - on options. RB
  22. Nice - I like it - I thought about doing a wrap - suggested to me by a friend - it was however- anathema. Not sure how much it would cost me to completely wrap it in - an aluminum sheen, a silver tint - - held together with well spaced painted on rows of loose rivets, with a dent here and there. I could then call it " Abomination."
  23. That is why I verify voltage, polarity, at the source. Then hook up to Oliver EMS. It is also valuable if your gonna run AC is to watch voltage drop under full load - I've seen it drop from 118 to about 112. That's not a real healthy situation.
  24. Yep. It only keeps the vehicle charged to design - less draw - better efficiency. Need an isolation - and appropriate charge system. Your examples are spot on. TKS.
