Staying weather aware is so important. β I have to admit we have been through a several really rough pop up Tstorms and stayed safe and dry inside XPLOR unplugged from 30a of course. We always try and have a contingency plan such as knowing where the CG storm or local shelter is IF they have one. In cases where the weather is going to be really severe and possibly place us in harms way we may just pack up and just leave a day early. We also avoid camping in flood zones or low areas which are usually near small creeks and mountain streams. Safety first for sure. ππ» This thread is a good reminder! Thanks Mike.

I actually spoke with the CGI crew at the 2022 Oliver Rally. I think the 24x24β area in the video was likely for demo and side by side comparison photo purposes. The actual application maybe a little larger area. I agree with you it is a time bandit flying solo. I bet your Ollie will look great when you finish.ππ»

You have mighty fine taste Art! ππ» Looks like a custom Sargent seat too. This is my 3rd BMW Adventure over the years. I previously owned an 07 and a 15 YM. At 6β3 the ergos of this bike allow for a really comfy day in the saddle. I recently took delivery of this 24 YM on Mar 1st. I ride where the Buffalo still roam here in the Blue Ridge Mtn and foothills. My 15 ADV -riding the devils whip aka route 80 in the Blue Ridge Mtns.

After our last 42 day trip out west we came home with a few best practices. We want our set up gear ready to rock.π

@Badger Pete, We had the Oliver cargo box and realized we needed to make better use of this storage area. In hindsight, would not have purchased the Oliver cargo box if this was available at the time for many reasons. Here is the custom made enclosed cargo box we upgraded to made by - https://seabiscuitmetaldesigns.com/product/oliver-box/ They are located in Johnson City, TennesseeπΊπΈ. They ship anywhere in the lower 48. With lots of room, we keep all of our immediate camp set up gear - chocks, blocks, 30 amp cord, and other various first grab items we need here. David & Kristine Hess owners of SeaBiscut metal designs are just top shelf people. We even toured the Seabiscuitmetaldesigns machine shop where they custom hand craft and produce very well made high quality products. πΊπΈ David & Kristine Hess will be at this years Oliver owners rally at Lake Guntersville SP and will have their cargo boxes and more on display. Possibly a newly designed rear cargo box for the Oliver as well. Welcome to the forum, we are here to help so ask questions, and Happy Camping! PatriotπΊπΈ

John, Enjoy the land of the Kentucky Derby, bourbon, and beautiful horse farms. Kentucky is a gorgeous state. Safe Travels!

Just spoke with Mike at OTT Service. This new 2β receiver will not retro fit or swap out into the existing bolt holes on your bumper. It has a wider bolt pattern.

Best instructions yet Mike. ππ» -
Being a bit risk adverse, I would throw a caution flag about exceeding the 150# weight limit Oliver recommends anywhere on the rear bumper. @Rivernerd makes a really good point about dynamic load. Exceeding this weight limit could adversely impact how the trailer handles, not to mention the liability if a failure occurs. Something else to consider is any modifications to the existing OEM build might adversely impact frame warranty coverage by Oliver for newer model original owners.

Hey Art, Nothing wrong with hanging out in a cow pasture shooting the bull. π

I agree Max all great points, Comparing visually just a few early model weld photos to my welds on XPLOR there is a vast difference in the appearance of the skill level of the welder and his craft. I really donβt see this being an issue with later model Oliverβs. I have not heard or read about any cracked welds on the newer Olivers. Oliver TT clearly recognized the need for higher quality welds early on and improved on this with a much better weld. Good on Oliver! All this said it is imperative that owners inspect and maintain ALL areas of their Oliver. Olivers are extremely well engineered and well built in my owner experience. Oliver has continued and will continue to make improvements through the years. If I ever end up with a cracked weld I will simply have it fixed. I know I still own the best TT made in the USA. πΊπΈ With so few trailers impacted, I am not sure how much more we can beat this dead horse. π Happy Camping!!

A suggestion to Truma about the Aventa A/C....
Patriot replied to Mike and Jill's topic in General Discussion
You are welcome, just passing it forward. Surely there are trade offs. We originally had the βDemoincβ aka Dometic AC Penguin which was just way too loud for us. We like to be able to listen to music, talk in the phone and each other or stream a movie. We are so glad we had the Truma retro fit professionally installed by Oliver. No complaints here with our Truma. π -
How many trailers have had this weld crack or break?

Hey Max, Ask your bride to keep it under 100 while youβre in the Ollie. π
