  1. Yep, maintenance is key! When it comes to replacing existing well working parts, I typically default to “if it ain’t broke don’t try and fix it”. I have used a gray and black tank valve lube for the blade valves each time I treat the tanks since we took delivery. It’s proven to work well so far at 6 years in, all good so far. Here ya go-https://www.amazon.com/Thetford-Drain-Valve-Lubricant I highly recommend it!
  2. Thanks John. It’s one of those things we hope we never have to use. Our power does not go out very often here unless feeder lines on the main roads fold over from the weight of trees during an ice storm. Weighing all the repair costs (to replace frigs, freezers, sheet rock, and all our plumbing) after several nights of freezing temperatures, the one time cost of the generator install seems it will far outweigh frozen pipes and all the home repairs that go with it.
  3. After having more than my fill of the latest “state of the art” weather forecasters, here is what we know so far. 🙄 😂
  4. A recent update on the weather. I wonder if this guy providing the forecast actually breathes? 😄🤷‍♂️😄 Be Safe!
  5. No regrets here! 👍🏻
  6. Just checked our forecast here and it appears freezing rain and a chance of a wintery mix forecasted with no significant snow fall accumulation. Certainly all subject to change. 3 years ago when we had our 24KW Generac installed, I still remember a few neighbors thinking it was sorta crazy to spend money on something we hope we never have to use. 🤔 The power does not go out that often which is true however, when it does it sure is nice to have a backup/contingency plan. The freezing temps are predicted to be diving down into the lower teens for the next week or so at night here in Western NC. Suffice to say, during extended power outages with no heat it does not take long for a home to cool down and pipes to freeze. Eventually food in freezers with no ⚡️will expire. For times such as these we are really glad we got our LNG fueled Generac installed. Stay Prepped, Stay Safe and Stay Warm!
  7. I hope it works out for you!
  8. I replied to this question on your earlier post. The only preowned Oliver’s for sale social media site is the FB page I referenced. You may occasionally find an Oliver for sale on RV trader. Best of luck in your search for a preowned Oliver.
  9. Welcome @TravelWell If you have not already done so keep an eye out on the FB Oliver Travel Trailer For Sale by owner page. There are some really amazing deals that pop up occasionally. I attached a screen shot of one that recently -posted. It’s highly recommend to have cash or check in hand as well kept and maintained Olivers move quickly. Disappointingly to many present forum members/owners, Oliver TT removed the ability for an owner to sell their Oliver on this Fourm. 😏 The concern it would impact nationwide dealer sales. It’s come to pass, that the dealer network really did not take off as planned and is all but limping along sorta of. Many of the original dealers selected are no longer selling or servicing new Olivers. Fortunately Oliver Service in Hohenwald is still servicing Olivers. The good news is as a result an Oliver Travel Trailer For Sale FB page was created. Turns out for those of us that use FB or FB market place now have an even better and easier media to reach out to as prospective buyers interested in purchasing or selling a well maintained preowned Oliver. You will just have to trust me when I say you can SAVE tens of thousands dollars off a new Oliver. Be patient and be ready. Also just beware of Olivers that have little to no actual documented service history. Many owners service their own Olivers as we do. We document everything we do on a spreadsheet to include logged miles, upgrades or mods or any maintenance or repairs completed by Oliver Service. Olivers in my humble opinion and 6 yrs in of long distance travel experience are the best Travel Trailers made. Like any camper they do require regular maintenance. Welcome, do ask questions, and all the best in your search for an OLE2! Edit 01/20/2026- Please note that I have redacted the contact information on the Oliver Travel Trailer Owners FB page for the previous photo in this post. I don’t want anyone “confused” thinking my in intention was to start a classifieds post to sell preowned Olivers. My sole intent in my original post was to only provide a quick screen shot or example of what an FB Oliver TT for sale by owner page looks like to @TravelWell. Advertising or attempting to sell an Oliver Travel Trailer on this forum is not allowed per Oliver Travel Trailers Inc and forum rules. See attached photo with newly redacted contact information of seller. Thanks!
  10. Glad you did not have a blow out or worse. If it were me I would immediately have a complete brake and wheel bearing inspection done on all four drums. It’s more than obvious in your photo that tire/brake was locked down. Safe Travels!
  11. I have to agree Mike, I really enjoy learning about all the latest and greatest new tech in our world as life rockets 🚀 by. Today’s latest tech seems to be old news tomorrow. I like banjo’s as well and actually owned one. Took a few lessons and practiced and practiced and played for people that could not hear. 😄 It will be interesting to see if Morning Star actually produces a 29’ model. Certainly time will tell how well this Morning Star actually performs in the field. David
  12. My apologies on my incorrect post above on cost of replacing the interior blind with a brandy new blind. I just got off the phone with Mike Sharpe at Oliver Service and he quoted me for one brandy new blind the cost is $393.00. This includes shipping to your door. (Shipping could vary a little) I mistakenly quoted pricing for 2 blinds in my previous post which was incorrect. If you want a completely new blind, you must order and pay through Oliver Service. Oliver places the order with the company who actually has to make the blind. They don’t stock them on the shelf. Once made, it’s packed up and shipped to your address. Cheers!
  13. Welcome and glad to have you on board! Safe travels!
  14. Sharp stick in the eye to repair a blind? Would this be a pun intended Bill? 😂
  15. My quote might be off now that I think about it. $400 sounds about right John. I think Mikes quote to me was for replacing two blinds.
  16. Dan, I think Mike Sharpe told me $750 to $800 per window shade. 😳 Mike said they have to be ordered through Oliver and the company will make the shade and ship it to Oliver and then Oliver Service ships them to you. This quote was last October when we stopped by Oliver Service. As @topgun2 said the price will motivate me when the time comes to DYI shade repair. Edit- I think it was $700 for two new shades, not per shade.
  17. Gene G, I have to admit that’s a first and very creative thinking! Looking forward to your pics on cover removal. 👍🏻😊🇺🇸
  18. Hey Mike, Please feel free to delete my repeat post on Will’s vid. I missed that link where CRM had posted it already. 😊 You make great points about the possible QC, obvious design flaws, over all manufacturing quality being a culprit. It will be very interesting to see how BB moves forward. As for BB admitting to any potential danger to its customers or that there is a problem even with a specific batch of batteries, I don’t see that happening. Sounds like you have had great service out of your BB’s and will likely never have an issue. 👍🏻
  19. It was mounted using an additional extension piece of “starboard” backing plate (as mentioned in a previous post) glued in with a very very strong industrial grade marine grade fiberglass adhesive. I do not know the name of the marine grade odorless adhesive that was used. I do know its used in Marine grade installs. I opted not to have my installer drill through and bolt the backing plate through the fiberglass. My concern is the “hanging weight” on the bolt through the fiberglass from the 3000W inverter/charger could/would eventually cause the fiberglass to star or splinter and eventually just crack. In my experience and discussions with Jason E at Oliver service over the years, drilling through the fiberglass is not at all recommended. So drilling just was not something I was willing to risk. So far my Victron 3000W inverter converter is still very secure.
  20. Heads Up!! A 2 day old vid. Yet another new issue with Battleborn. 🧐 Not good.
  21. Here’s a pic of the HD wet bolts. Hopefully you also ordered the HD shackles. I had Alcan install the wet bolts with the grease zerks facing under our Oliver for easier access when greasing the zerks.
  22. Alcan Spring visit and 5 leaf pack install went smooth and quick. I don’t recall the exact labor charge but it was reasonable. The install only took Lew’s team 2.5 hrs and was worth every penny, I never broke a sweat. 😄 A first class install. Still have my Alcan hat!
  23. As @topgun2 and @John Dorrer mentioned the compressed air and regular cleaning has always worked well for me. I also apply a little coating of spray silicone or WD40 on a rag and wipe down the exterior black rubber seal before reinstalling. This helps to keep it supple and clean looking.
  24. Thanks to @Ollie-Haus I scooped up this kit which will live in our TV. I also carry a small compressor. I hope I never need it.😄
