Being a bit risk adverse, I would throw a caution flag about exceeding the 150# weight limit Oliver recommends anywhere on the rear bumper. @Rivernerd makes a really good point about dynamic load. Exceeding this weight limit could adversely impact how the trailer handles, not to mention the liability if a failure occurs. Something else to consider is any modifications to the existing OEM build might adversely impact frame warranty coverage by Oliver for newer model original owners.

Hey Art, Nothing wrong with hanging out in a cow pasture shooting the bull. π

I agree Max all great points, Comparing visually just a few early model weld photos to my welds on XPLOR there is a vast difference in the appearance of the skill level of the welder and his craft. I really donβt see this being an issue with later model Oliverβs. I have not heard or read about any cracked welds on the newer Olivers. Oliver TT clearly recognized the need for higher quality welds early on and improved on this with a much better weld. Good on Oliver! All this said it is imperative that owners inspect and maintain ALL areas of their Oliver. Olivers are extremely well engineered and well built in my owner experience. Oliver has continued and will continue to make improvements through the years. If I ever end up with a cracked weld I will simply have it fixed. I know I still own the best TT made in the USA. πΊπΈ With so few trailers impacted, I am not sure how much more we can beat this dead horse. π Happy Camping!!

A suggestion to Truma about the Aventa A/C....
Patriot replied to Mike and Jill's topic in General Discussion
You are welcome, just passing it forward. Surely there are trade offs. We originally had the βDemoincβ aka Dometic AC Penguin which was just way too loud for us. We like to be able to listen to music, talk in the phone and each other or stream a movie. We are so glad we had the Truma retro fit professionally installed by Oliver. No complaints here with our Truma. π -
How many trailers have had this weld crack or break?

Hey Max, Ask your bride to keep it under 100 while youβre in the Ollie. π

A suggestion to Truma about the Aventa A/C....
Patriot replied to Mike and Jill's topic in General Discussion
@Mike and Jill I called and spoke to a super nice Truma customer service rep named Sherry. She said that there are no plans to update the Truma Aventa AC fan to cycle off after the unit has cooled the interior down. According to Sherry, it is necessary for the Truma fan to continually run to enable the internal thermostat to measure and monitor interior temperature. So no change in the works. Honestly the low speed fan running does not bother us. We really are happy with our Truma. Other info: I asked if Truma was going to sell or incorporate a soft start for the 13.5 Aventa? She said no, that installing a soft start would cancel out any remaining warranty. Happy Cool Travels! -
Now youβre talking! πππ»

Bill, Youβre always welcome to come by and take a look under XPLOR. Yes it has cross-members.

My local Dexter rep told me the yellow paint swatch is to quickly identify a particular spring in their warehouse. I noticed the painted end is also where the leafs are steel banded together.

@MAX Burner After talking with @rideandfly I went out to the Ollie Hangar and rolled up under βXPLORβ and took a good hard look at ALL the frame/chassis welds. All appear to be solid. Like anything thing else a regular visual inspection should be a part of regular maintenance checklist. βStack of dimesβ. β

Nice job Bill! Please post up how often you need to empty your dehumidifier. We usually empty ours about every 5 days or so. Ours sits down on the floor in front of the closet door. We can just open the door, turn off the Pro Breeze and empty it.
-
Neat article, thanks for posting. David

We empty our Pro Breeze condensate tank usually about every 5 days. It has an auto shut off in the any event if we are delayed in emptying it. So far we have had zero issues with mold or mildew and we factor this into our maintenance cost keeping XPLOR mold and mildew free during high seasonal high humidity. We donβt run the dehumidifier below 45 degrees or in the winter months.

It will look better than new Bill, great work on locating a solid shop. ππ»π

John, Consider a can of compressed air to help clear the window tracks of debris. This has worked well for me in the past. ππ»

@John Dorrer John, we used a cover prior to our Ollie Hangar and pool noodles really worked well on the sharp 90 degree solar panel and rear bumper corners. I found that using a little gaffers tape to secure the pool noodles really helped keep the noodle in place. The gaffers tape is similar to duct tape but will not leave a glue residue when you remove it. here - https://www.amazon.com/Professional-Premium-Grade-Gaffer-Power/dp/B00LMNYFHI/ref=sr_1_6?dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.kVU2X4gKhAp6LTbtD0ttAYQB5ypdxczKUApEmnFt6fD5VBRqjwKwhy30PsFfnY3tcTYrM11BcDq3_tHS3JMVU0Y0RpgcHlthTbBqwkbZ52MSkiuhghrQ136AWEalaXMrLHqS5eAJFNc18IFrwDY39tAXU9ybQPGDBl6gBtuMq6PbzvatViHzFxYmxu-G9GfRH5hQlQjaT_hWOFZXUuKO0uCFgCZ7I8luHGGFBTPixWVrIxVg60NB0_uKiUtWtbYg11HMHbwCY9XoNWvjYMI9_1OWstopxowoxhg30ZgTsOc.Jql5lqpSwwFO6oKrJgeMn0-MCkddi8Kyt96QgcAVnSI&dib_tag=se&hvadid=634419446280&hvdev=t&hvlocphy=9009957&hvnetw=g&hvqmt=e&hvrand=1250299019061540131&hvtargid=kwd-10053117&hydadcr=6394_13298173&keywords=gaffer+tape&qid=1712369909&s=industrial&sr=1-6

@John Welte To answer your original question on the best portable electric dehumidifier. I am sure there are other options out there, but this is what we use and it has worked great for the last few years. We also really like how quickly our Truma in dehumidify mode works. We also keep our frig door slightly cracked open during storage while running the dehumidifier. Naturally mold and mildew usually will not thrive with moving air. https://www.amazon.com/Pro-Breeze-Electric-Dehumidifier-Portable/dp/B01HXVUT7C/ref=pd_bxgy_d_sccl_1/142-3394087-9918246?pd_rd_w=FhzcQ&content-id=amzn1.sym.2b132e63-5dcd-4ba1-be9f-9e044543d59f&pf_rd_p=2b132e63-5dcd-4ba1-be9f-9e044543d59f&pf_rd_r=S2BGQD30T201BAZKD05G&pd_rd_wg=P44kG&pd_rd_r=624683bb-794c-4efb-b5ee-829214442647&pd_rd_i=B01HXVUT7C&psc=1

According to the new brochure (linked) it shows the Truma Aventa in the photo on the OLEll at 9β 8β. Our 2020 LEll has the 16β wheels. I believe in late 22 YM and 23, and 24 YM Oliver went to the smaller wheel/tire set up which would reduce overall height. I have never measured the exact height of XPLOR post our Truma install. Given the slight slope or drop where the new fiberglass foundation to accommodate the Truma retro fit was installed, I will go with what Oliver states as the overall height being 9β 8β. This is also listed in the 24 YM info packet. here- https://olivertraveltrailers.com/travel-trailers/?gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQjwn7mwBhCiARIsAGoxjaIXJnMBHitUfd5XEnvEsEIi3T8dGClqwAk2LL7Bl9L5W_LKGy6ufhQaAvv5EALw_wcB
