Yesterday evening I purchased this HF cordless buffer/polisher and honestly was very skeptical about how well it would work despite the very solid reviews. I thought for $30 why not give it a try? I had light to medium oxidation beginning on the street side front roof top corner and all along the top of the street side roof which I wanted to remove. I have to admit my wife and I were both really surprised and pleased at how well this 4.83# buffer removed ALL the oxidation with ease using Meguiars #67. Our Ollies roof top now looks as good if not better than the day we took delivery. Note- I never needed to replace the lithium battery during use. As mentioned I used Meguiars #67 with a terry cloth polishing pad on this little buffer which easily removed areas of oxidation. I then followed up with a buffing pad after applying Meguiars Premium Marine wax. 💯 % satisfied and happy with the final results. Letting the buffer do the work, I really prefer to work smart not hard.😎 The buffer is light weight enough that you can actually use it with one hand (perfect). The ergos of the handle felt very comfortable as I never got tired of using it while working up on the ladder. Another thing I liked is I was able to use the buffer under the solar panel over hang a plus. A 💯% keeper. Thanks to everyone’s buffer thoughts and suggestions, I have found what works really well for me at a very reasonable price. I would not hesitate to purchase this buffer again as it really brought the shine and beautiful luster back to our gelcoat and saves a ton of elbow grease. Happy Camping and Happy Polishing! 😊 A few photos - This area had the beginnings of oxidation…it’s gone now. The shadows are reflected shade from our trees. Very happy with the luster of the gelcoat completely restored to our Ollie. Just clears the solar panel. 👍🏻 Terry cloth pad -

Mod idea needed for exterior panel warping

@Cameron Just a follow up on this minor repair. I received the new frame and vent today from Oliver - wow fast shipping. Removed the old vent and frame, cleaned off caulk and applied 3m tape to the inside of the frame (pic) and reinstalled the frame (tip- do not tighten the S/S screws so tight that it tweaks or warps the frame, just snug them down do not over tighten. The old frame may have been tighten down to tight on the assembly line which resulted in the warp on the original vent door and frame just not matching up.) Now no more bow in the vent door. Reinstalled the insect screens and done. Thank you to Oliver parts department for the super fast shipping. -
Oliver Service Center Visit June 2 - Thank you!!
Patriot replied to Patriot's topic in General Discussion
I have no interior service area photos. The hourly labor rate i believe is $125.00. We did not ask to look up under the frame as it was not on a lift. My guess would be they don’t want owners hanging around the service bays for general liability reasons and the techs stay pretty busy. As for the annual service cost, I do not know. A good question to call and ask the Service Center. To my knowledge Oliver does not provide washing and detailing of trailers being serviced. -
We just wanted to give a shout out to the Team at Oliver Service regarding our June 2 service/maintenance visit. A big thank you to Crystal the front office administrator who set us up at the Service Center Campsite. What a really nice quiet place to overnight when having service work done. Each site has water and electric and there is a dump station located as you exit. We also wish to especially Thank Jason, Ryder, and Tucker for their attention to detail and excellent work attending to a few minor maintenance items we needed addressed on our Oliver. This service team was 💯thorough, listened carefully and totally went the extra mile to address any and all concerns. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

I am looking for recommendations on a really decent orbital buffer. My goal is to stay ahead on waxing the gelcoat and keep it looking good on our Oliver for years to come. Suggestions? Thank in advance! A worthy read - https://olivertraveltrailers.com/blog/everything-you-need-to-know-to-take-care-of-your-fiberglass-rv/

Mod idea needed for exterior panel warping
Patriot replied to Cameron's topic in Ollie Modifications
@Fargoman, I considered installing a few short narrow Velcro strips as well to remove the bow in the panel, and may still have to even after installing the new vent frame and panel. I looked at a few Ollies at the Rally and did not see the bowing panel issue. Hopefully a new panel will correct the fit and finished look. Good mod hack repair/suggestion if any one is out of warranty and does not want to purchase another frame and panel I say Velcro On! 😊 -Patriot -

Zarcor tinted window and blind install 2020 OLEll Hull# 634
Patriot replied to Patriot's topic in Mechanical & Technical Tips
I thought I would bump this post since I was asked about the Zarcor window shade while at this years Rally by a few new owners. It’s a nice mod passed on to me by TopGun and naturally allows us to see who is knocking at the door. As mentioned we ordered tinted glass to match the Oliver tinted windows. A top five mod of ours. Hope this helps those that asked about it at the Rally. Happy Camping! -
Here you go LorL - Foy does amazing woodworking and we have a few of his crafts in our Ollie. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1xYYE_R9dKxbNapgWqzYcaaDYCtEj_m6v/view

Cameron, Your welcome, just passing it forward. 👍🏻🇺🇸 -
Yes, Oliver still installs Cooper tires. We have been very happy with our 10 ply E rated Cooper truck tires and see absolutely no need to change out.

Agree with Bill. We had a 2014 Tundra and eventually bumped up to a F350 6.7 diesel one ton. Our 14 Tundra ran much higher RPMs in the mountains and never really felt as planted as our Super Duty. Quite honestly no comparison between the two trucks. We looked hard at the new 2022 Toyota, unfortunately with a cargo capacity of only 1400 lbs we knew this was not adequate for cargo our needs and we would be quickly close or over legal weight limits. We always pull our Ollie with a full fresh water tank and plenty of camping gear, and a generator in the bed which quickly eats up 1400 lb limit. With the F350 we are well within our safety margin of cargo weight which eliminates that concern. Also the larger Super Duty Cab we find so much more comfortable and we feel safer on long trips than we did with the Tundra for many reasons. We sold our Andersen hitch after we sold our Tundra as it is not needed with our Super Duty. The Super Duty also has a longer bed than our former Tundra which again helps accommodate all of our gear, tools, etc. Good luck with your choice!

We have stayed at Bear Den CG and also Mountain River Family CG in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Both privately owned in cooler elevations, clean bath houses, and very well run and secure. Both have full hook ups. Mountain River Family CG is bordered by the Toe River which also has great trout fishing. We simply prefer the privately owned CG’s over Federal Parks. The cost is a little more but you get what you pay for at least at these two I listed. Not at all campground snobs here, we just prefer privately owned CGs for all the amenities that go along with it. It really depends on how long you want to stay, your budget, and what type of camping you plan on doing. We try and book at least 4-5 day stays at most CGs locally. Happy Camping! https://www.beardenmountainresort.com https://www.mtnriverwnc.com Mountain River Family CG - Toe River
