Welcome to the forum, and congratulations on finding #215. Looks like a really nice unit! If you search the phrases "lithium upgrade" and "lithium install", you'll find a lot of info, which will in turn trigger lots more questions, I'm sure! So many people have swapped out to lithium in the past few years. I'm not yet one of them, as our agms probably have another year or to of life. (I hope.) Here's one thread to start with: Are the agms in the 2017 not holding a charge?

Awesome! Most of us can just dream of a scenic spot like that for our ollies. Mine squeezes (literally) into a 12' wide side yard, with overhanging roof and trees . You have a super setup.

I took a screenshot of John's checklist. You can edit it for your trailer by using his link in the thread he referenced.

@marsharini How do you like the Froli system? Do you think it adds comfort as well as airflow?

How to Replace a Broken Bathroom Door Mirror?
SeaDawg replied to DonnaDuane's topic in Mechanical & Technical Tips
I love the extra visual "depth " of the bath mirror door. If I ever gave it up, I'd probably look at matching formica or other brand panels, for the bath door and fridge. Imo. -
When we store our Ollie, in cold or heat, , we either plank the cushions on end, or remove them. Same with the boat. We don't have mattresses. I'd at least angle them, for more airflow

Mice have to get there, first. Get a creeper. Look under your Ollie. Engines are wide open. Ollies aren't.

How to Replace a Broken Bathroom Door Mirror?
SeaDawg replied to DonnaDuane's topic in Mechanical & Technical Tips
@Pat Maundrell sounds really pretty, but heavy, too. Might get away with the quarter inch veneered ply, but the towel bar, plus towels, trim, and porthole mirror may very well be too much for the frame and hinges. The sheet of mirror and plastic backing really don't weigh much, compared to what you have described. If you really want that, you may be looking at a new frame and hinges, imo. -
We have a lot of forum members who store their trailers in the country. The clamshell opening for drains are too small for mice, imo. Put the camco stainless screens on the other vents. For winter layup, we used to put aluminum window screen in the fridge panels, taped it on, and took it off in the spring. If you live in the country, you know the drill. Check for openings larger than a dime. With the Ollie, the underbelly is fiberglass, not munchable wood. Check to make sure all openings not screened with metal are closed. Including the bumper area, and where it attaches to the trailer. A lot of folks in cold country remove the cushions, as foam doesn't necessarily love subzero temperatures. At least, prop them up on end. I do that in hot humid Florida, too, as it decreases the chance of condensation wetting the fabric. (In the boat, too, off season, and anytime it's unused for a long period of time .) And, remove all food sources, .of course.

Replacing Window trim - what brand is it?
SeaDawg replied to wolfdds's topic in Mechanical & Technical Tips
@QuestionMark That looks really great! -
Spartanburg is where a Colonial depot is located, so probably better situation for them. No, we have a home depot 30 minutes closer. But the one in Spartanburg is bigger and more inventory, and the items I needed in stock. It's also close to Lidl, Costco, Walmart, and a mall, so ... It's only an hour of beautiful scenery away.

We just got back from Spartanburg, SC. Picked up an order at Home Depot. Regular gas was $2.48 at Costco. The attendant said they came close one day, but never ran out of gas. Didn't see a bagged pump the entire trip.

How Many Pounds of Stuff do You Carry?
SeaDawg replied to Mike and Carol's topic in Towing an Oliver
It was a bonus. I wouldn't have done it just to shave weight, though. Both the original fridge and water heater were inoperable and required replacement. The ac was on its last legs, and was in the way when we wanted to adjust our new larger solar panels. It is probably something to keep in mind, though, when we replace items. That, and power consumption. -
Have a great trip!

I follow a number of you tube content creators One of my favorites (along with Will Prowse) is these two young sailors. They're fearless sailors on their self-modified electric motor, (now) Battleborn battery powered sailboat. Learned as they went. Fun, bright, fearless. They've been in Norway awhile, my favorite destination. Most recent release, at a distillery above the arctic circle, in Myken. Sailing Uma

How Many Pounds of Stuff do You Carry?
SeaDawg replied to Mike and Carol's topic in Towing an Oliver
I keep posting our weight from 2009ish. But, we've also done a bit of "dieting", when I think about it . Compressor fridge shaved probably 90 pounds, perhaps more, over the heavy three way. Took out the microwave, but added a drawer and a cabinet door, so probably net 25 loss there . New ac is at least 50 pounds lighter than the old. Girard instantaneous water heater probably a bit lighter than old standard heater, but no longer carry 48 pounds of water in the heater tank. New pv panels are bigger, but close to the same weight as the old ones, when I've lifted them. A few pounds more for second controller for the portable pv system. Probably net equal there. One of these days, I should weigh it again. We should be down by over 200 pounds. Maybe more, since I purged a lot of excess "stuff" that we were carrying in the trailer. I'm really interested in the results of ridenfly's experience with one 100 ah lithium battery . Since we could actually access most of that 100 ah with lithium, and faster charging, as opposed to my conservative limits on our two 105 ah agms, I think we might be quite happy with one lithium battery. We've camped 23 or 24 days so far this spring, no hookups, and ran the genset once, when we got below 70 per cent capacity available. As far as payload, still trying to figure out our weights. It varies so much. 2 light chairs. One aluminum table. Us. 9 pound dog, 20 pounds of stuff for the dog.. Drinking water is our biggest weight hog. Each five gallon jug is 40 pounds, and we carry two or three most trips. -
We drove from Asheville to Franklin NC today to pick up some scaffolding. I only saw a few stations with bags on some of the pumps . I think the crisis is over in Western North Carolina, at least on the highways. It was a really pretty day for a drive.

Has anyone used Separret Villa 9215 Composting Toilet?
SeaDawg replied to PeteRissler's topic in Ollie Boondocking
So, I came across this the other day-- Separett's new Tiny composting toilet. As toilets go, it's rather pretty and sleek. And small. But a big capacity. And, like all the other composting toilet, a pretty big price tag. Comes in two versions, with a urine hose, or with a urine tank. Vent adaptor from Swedish 50 mm to us 1.5 inch vent pipe. Seat height is about 3" lower than nature's head. I wonder if the odor from the fan would really be any worse than the odor from the nature's head fan, or the vent stack from the Oliver black tank? I'm sure I'll see it pop up on one of the youtuber sites soon. -

You really put your Ollie on a diet. That's approaching weight of a bloated Elite I. -
Thanks for the memories, BoB. My dad loved Roger Miller.

If you like that one, here's another from a few months back. Stine wrote this, as she writes most of the group's songs:

So, it's Friday. An old song by the amazing John Prine, covered in a new arrangement and release by Norway's Northern Belle. Summer's End. https://soundcloud.com/jansenrecords/the-northern-belle-summers-end-1?utm_source=clipboard&utm_campaign=wtshare&utm_medium=widget&utm_content=https%3A%2F%2Fsoundcloud.com%2Fjansenrecords%2Fthe-northern-belle-summers-end-1 Nordicana, folk, nordic country. Whatever you want to label them...
