  1. Great idea, thanks!
  2. ...getting a bit "stinky-slinky envy" going on here 🤪
  3. We like the bleach step, for sure and for certain....
  4. Same here. Never had a problem with them...
  5. Definitely correct. Should have been more accurate in the previous discussion - my bad. We use the OTT-provided black tank flush to fill the tank 3 or 4 times until viewed clear effluent is observed in the plexiglas port. We don't use the back flush hose adapter on the unit for exactly what JD is describing above... We use the device when dumping at home because of the long run from the trailer to the dump head - just makes it more convenient and easy having it closer to the valves.
  6. Excellent point - great way to tweak the load fore/aft depending on your load-out for a particular trip. We target roughly 6 threads behind each of the Anderson chain adjustment nuts. We start there then tweak as needed. To get a good idea of actual tongue weight we use one of these - real easy to get a quick data point; especially if you're configured differently than the previous trip (tank levels, bikes, etc.).
  7. Always had good luck with Iridiums. They're a bit spendy but the plans are fairly reasonable. With a clear view to the southern sky, I've had reasonable contacts on the opposite of the globe - easy peasy.
  8. Same here - The Flush King works great. We get no odors after flushing clear - takes 3 to 4 fills.
  9. Not only are lithiums a perfect match for solar - they're also a perfect match for a DC/DC charger... Your TV's alternator generates a goodly amount of current (probably north of 180Amps) which cannot make it to the lithium bank via the standard 7-pin connection. The DC/DC charger allows the lithiums to charge with that current produced by your TV while traveling in addition to the solar (if you're pulling during sunny times of the day).
  10. We've got one that looks like teak wood but is actually synthetic wood. It's the same height/thickness as the teak wood option - so if you're more than 73 inches your head hits the fan... (had to double check my spelling on that phrase). Its nice to have a clean surface to shower on, but bumping your head is a concern for some... Just say'n.
  11. Totally concur with Steve's assessment. But it was an interesting article anyway. It would be good to have one written about the 10 best TV's in the past 5 years, IMO.
  12. Same here...
  13. Very cool. Congrats on your OTT acquisition, Doug! Let us know if you're coming down our way, south of Santa Fe/north of ABQ. We've got a flat site w/30amp and well water, if needed - FYI...
  14. We'd sure like to see more OTT owners that live in the Rockies/SW US on the forums, we know they're out there - lurking, somewhere... HA!
  15. HA! 🤣 Funny, but good question. The closest I could get to the center for that Smart Shunt probe is the positive terminal of the middle BB. Been out of the country the past 2 weeks also, Mossey - headed back late this PM, FYI. I'll be installing a Victron DC/DC charger in the Casa Blanca after I shake off the jet lag this weekend. Plan to start a post on that one, too.
  16. FYI: We made a table for the Lagun mount from some available red oak we had in the woodshop. The mount is centered on the nightstand. The underside of the table is "grooved" and can be fitted on the bed rails so our 55lb husky, Magnus, can curl up between us at night. It is serving us well so far - Magnus seems to like it too. The table and mount is stored/bungie-corded on the left side closet bulkhead. transitioning to the "dog-bed" mode above. View from below with table grooves on bed rails above. Table mode - can swing over either bed or centered in aisle for a secondary workstation....
  17. Being the "cheapo fabricators", we re-purposed an old poly cutting board from our junk/recycle shelf in the shop to mount the main battery cut-off switch and positive bus bar... Significantly reduced the battery connections down to the 4/0 cables plus a mid-point battery monitor for the Victron Smart Shunt and a batt temp probe. Placed it on top of the Battleborns - seems to work fine.
  18. Same here! Maybe need to add an LED "diffuser tab" as JD mentions...
  19. @Patriot: Sano install, brother! Enjoy your time in the Rockies - beautiful time of the year to explore them. Stay safe and press on, regardless!
  20. FYI: The plates are in fact flat aluminum, they look like diamond plate because they're reflecting the diamond plate floor mat that the trailer is positioned on. The second photo shows the plate finish without the reflection.
  21. Installed new carpet treads a couple days ago and planned to clean and lubricate the step mechanism with CV-2 grease. FYI: Just a small amount of CV-2 applied to the rail slots make deploying/retracting the steps quieter and much easier with a lot less effort. Noticing that the leading edge/forward aluminum step frame had been quite hammered by road debris after 6+ years of usage, we decided to address this situation with an angle grinder fit with a polishing wheel and green rouge. Here's what happened after about 30 minutes of effort: We're liking the results and should allow being able to keep this area cleaner over time... Cheers!
  22. Very cool! Looking forward to meeting you and seeing how your new OTT turns out! Cheers!
  23. Those lithiums should only lose about 3-5% SOC per month... You should be fine.
  24. @Coastal Aggie: Congrats on collecting your new OTT! Shoot us some pix of that new beauty! Safe and fun travel are now to be had... Cheers!
  25. We've been using USAA for over 40 years - only have had to use the "RV rider" once while on the road. Towing our AS, the Suburban's alternator went out randomly on our way back to NM when we were about 45 miles east of OKC on I-44. Called the USAA roadside assistance number, waited less than an hour and they showed up as promised. The tow truck driver kept the AS connected to the Sub, lifted the steering axle, and pulled the whole mess to a local GMC dealership. Easy peasy. The dealership even gave us a loaner to get around with while staying in their parking lot that night. They had us back on the road by 10am the next day.
