Absolutely @topgun2! We dumped this AM at the house after returning from Mexico yesterday PM... We've always released a small amount of grey water before dumping the good stuff. It may also assist in moving the black effluent down what would otherwise be a dry hose. With the OTT wastewater holding tank flushing feature, (we didn't have this in our previous RV) we're now in the habit of running a wastewater holding tank full of freshwater to dump through the hose after the gray water's been eliminated. A final step that seems to work for us - on many levels. HA!

Spur of the moment trip to Old Mexico.... Boondocking here near Columbus, NM - enroute today to Palomas, Mexico. Beautiful WX, with a nice thunderstorm last night and good rain we're finishing up Bfast and headed southbound. Cheers! A & D

Same here, Brian. We sold our (2nd) AS to a cool couple from Temecula, CA in early 21. We had over 75k miles on that one and heavily modified it to meet our style of "travel trailering". The next major upgrade was to be the replacement of the banana wrap and belly panels - we didn't want to go there. So, we sold it and started learning about Olivers. We had a Casita for a year before we bought Casablanca - although there are a few features of the AS we miss, we are 100% happy with Hull #226.

Our 311 came with a chintzy light weight lid that just feels "cheep". Know what I'm saying? I'm liking the concept of a HD/slow closing lid - can that part be ordered separately from Dometic? -

Been carrying a similar device as the Anderson Rapid Jack since we had a blow-out on our AS back in 2012. Its not light, but like @Brian and Brandylyne noted, it saves time and the rear jacks. Cheers, GO NAVY beat AF!

We run our Coopers at 50psi cold - nary a problem with items, components, or fixtures inside. But we're ALL envious of the 15-16mpg, that's amazing! I'm happy as a clam with 13.5 in the Rockies!

Right? Could you imagine your insurance company finding out that you've overloaded the "not to exceed" weight after their investigation into your recent rear-ender? INSURANCE COMPANY RESPONSE: "Well... if you had not exceeded the placarded weight restriction, you may have had enough distance to stop before impacting the other vehicle. Sorry, we can't cover the damages." Maybe a stretch, but why push it? We'll stick with our 1150lbs of CR*P and keep piece of mind intact, just say'n.

We got a similar result when measuring the TUNDRA's curb wt last week at the CAT scales. Our curb weight came in at 5370 giving us a payload weight of: (6990 - 5370) = 1620lbs "useful load". Still, by keeping our payload in the 1150 range (which is all the gear we need) we're conservatively below the placarded 1400lbs payload Toyota printed on the drivers door sticker... Its good piece of mind knowing these weights!

@HDRider: I seem to remember reading a post some time ago from @ScubaRx where he installed electrically actuated cold and hot water valves in the shower plumbing feed PEX lines under the port rack, but I've slept since then - so... This mod would allow for eliminating water in the PEX lines close to the outside shower - better protecting them from freeze cracks in colder weather conditions. We're thinking about doing the same mod in ours as well... Anyhow, maybe it was his post that you were referring to. -
Exactly, Bill - I really try watching that, but occasionally the TUNDRA finds itself in the "Sport" mode... Holy C**P! It's like going into "Max Burner"! What's the placarded "not to exceed" payload on your Ford Eco? Just curious. My buddy was hauling his new 25-foot AS with his '22 Nissan turbo-ed Titan on this CO trip from NM. A much heavier TT than the Ollie, his mileage was about 3mpg less than ours - but his tongue weight was almost double ours at 975lbs. We brought our tongue weight scale along with us and measured his yesterday before leaving CB. We quickly discovered he was a couple hundred pounds over his max payload of 1200lbs. Ugh! Not good.

That's exactly correct! Just a bit south and west of Sergeant Mesa along the Continental Divide Trail where the "Soldier's Stone" is located. We've been up there on our dual-sports and it's breath-taking; on many levels. "SS" is a monument dedicated to ALL those that gave their lives during the entire Viet Nam war, FYI. The turbos increase the rarified air at these elevations to slightly below sea level - the little V-6 thinks its grinding up a hill in San Diego instead of a 10+k' slog in the Rockies! Just a perfect match for the OTT...IMO. We boondocked THU - SUN last week using Renogy's 200-watt "suitcase" portable solar modules - our 3 Battle Borns would consume between 10 - 15% SOC during the day and with roof plus portable modules, we were back up to 100% SOC before 11AM on this sunny weekend, FYI. Headed down to Columbus, NM then across the border to Palomas in Old Mexico next weekend - totally opposite end of the WX spectrum in less than 7 days! Cheers to all!

We're in Crested Butte, Co this weekend and have had a wonderful fall-colors tour. Our Tundra took us smoothly over Wolf Creek Pass (10,800') and Buffalo Pass on CO 114 (10,300') with no signs of struggling at all. We travel fairly light - used less than 1150lbs of our 1400lbs useful load. Tongue weight right at 495lbs. Fuel mileage for the 748-mile trek came in at 13.5mpg. Casablanca at Buffalo Pass... The Tundra is a good match for how we travel with our OTT, IMO. Cheers!

Wonderful WX here in Almont CO right along side the Gunnison River - phenomenal fly fishing... Currently mid-60's, no wind and wall-to-wall sunshine! Magnus and D got their bike ride in this AM - 3+ miles at 8,100'MSL.

@John E Davies is right on. We've got 5 feet on the street side (wish there was 6) about 3 feet on the street side (wish it was 6!) that's the side where the work bench is located. 6 feet of clearance in the back but 18" of that is floor to ceiling shelving. With the minimal clearances we have, equipment, bikes, folding tablesaw, etc. can barely be moved around with the rollup door closed. Our hitch is only a couple inches from the rollup when closed - but we can step over it to get to the entry door. Your detached garage needs to be bigger by the way you describe its size. Get a CalMark cover and park it next to your "shop" - maybe add an over hang to the shop for added protection.
