  1. This is such an unfair comment. “They all seem to leak”? Come on Ahattar, maybe few do but the vast majority don’t. Nan bought used and inherited some problems, we don’t know how well the previous owners did preventative maintenance. Your generalizations are not helpful to anyone. Mike Edit: ours is over 4 years old, 60K miles, never leaked.
  2. Ditto above. An example - the Weber Q series propane grills come with a regulator. They won’t work off the Oliver quick connect unless you remove the regulator and replace with a quick connect fitting. My Q1000 has been working fine off the quick connect. I have another propane grill but the regulator and hose are permanently mounted to the grill. So, if you get a low pressure stove with a built in regulator make sure you’ll be able to remove it. Mike
  3. I’ll check with Oliver Service. Is it the same Atwood model? If there was a Camping World close by I’d check there, I’ll check their web site. I can’t find the same model on Amazon.
  4. We ordered ours with “dark red” and “dark gray” colors. No fade after 4+ years. I did add our own front logo that has the same colors. No fade. This shows our stripes earlier this month when I was installing new porch lights.
  5. Our CO/Propane detector has been randomly alarming this last week. I put a fan blowing on it and it still wants to go off. It woke us up this morning at O-dark-thirty and is now sitting here on the dinette table. It was going off yesterday with the door open, windows open and roof vents open. It was good all night until early this morning. Both roof vents are still open and one window was partially open while we ran an electric heater (mid 30s right now). Our Atwood is hardwired, the wires are soldered onto the circuit board, so I snipped them. I’ve been looking on Amazon for a replacement, either hardwired or battery. There are a couple of Atwood’s and some MTI models. Has anyone replaced theirs yet? Since our smoke detector is also a CO detector it seems that a propane only detector would be ok. More models available without the CO detection. Mike
  6. Welcome Chuck and Sandy! With a little patience you’ll find the perfect used Ollie. Carol and I graduated from Leavenworth high school, so we’re very familiar with KC! Mike
  7. This one is pretty heavy duty. Just $8.99 on Amazon. I’ve had it on at least a couple of years. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07GJHD3PD/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
  8. The things you learn on this forum. I had no idea... I better check my torque! Mike
  9. We have the Dometic fridge and have never run it on 12v. If we don’t have shore power it’s on propane. Mike
  10. Bill, I’m glad your window was a good fit, like I mentioned I had to shim mine up about 1/8”. It’s been one of the most useful mods! Mike
  11. If the speaker issue is when watching TV check the cables on the back of the television. We had one come loose and we lost audio on one side. Mike
  12. The plastic trim comes off fairly easily. Then just take out the screws and slide it out.
  13. I used the nav on my new truck on the way home from the dealer. It was already out of date.
  14. We have those concrete barriers on I-10 where we live near San Antonio. I guess they’re necessary so construction can happen but they are dangerous and cause accidents. Coy, I’m glad your tire issue ended well, it’s always in the back of my mind when going through those chutes that a mechanical issue of any kind could be disastrous! Mike
  15. This is good advice given to us 4 years ago by Steve. We use legos and blocks to keep jack movement to just a few inches. I also have lines marking the up position so we don’t raise jacks to the click-click-click point. Had a jack come off the track once doing that and had to get the jack handle out to get it going again. This was taken at Gros Ventre Campground at Grand Teton last year. You can see the block on the legos and the jack down just a few inches.
  16. Funny article. Funny because there is some truth there. We’ve mostly had good neighbors but have had bad ones too. Other annoying things are folks that want to talk while you’re backing into your site or while you are going through your set up or breakdown routine or when you are dumping. Also, neighbors who build a smoky fire when the breeze brings the smoke into our site, then they leave to go do something. Being a good camper has a lot to do with being considerate of others. Mike
  17. On our drive today from Roswell to Durango I noticed there is a reflection on the 12” display. The thing is, when you look at it you see the display. If you adjust your focus you see the reflection. So, I don’t think it’s an issue, but if you focus right you might see a reflection. Mike
  18. We have all mirrors and like it. I’m surprised they don’t offer it anymore.
  19. Reflections haven’t been an issue. Lots of sun in south Texas. It’s also fine at night. The screen is glossy, but doesn’t seem to reflect To the driver.
  20. The 12” display is nice. We’ve grown to really like it. I usually split it and have my iPhone (CarPlay) on top with a map and media on the bottom. The Nav that came with it is useless, out of date on day 1. We didn’t want the sunroof and wouldn’t get it again but it’s been nice on occasion. Mike
  21. That fitting looks like what I used. It screws on after you remove the regulator. Here’s a picture of mine.
  22. I found the conversion parts for my Q1000 on Amazon. It doesn’t take long. I left my Outland fire bowl as is and use a separate 20lb tank for it since sometimes we use it in the Clam is can be a ways away from the trailer.
  23. My BF Goodrich tires have been stellar these last 4 years/50K+ miles. But, being able to check both pressure and temperature before we start and while underway does provide peace of mind. If I have a leak due to puncture or any other reason I should know before we’re at a crisis situation. I’ll know about a blowout almost instantaneously. Mike
  24. I used a Rhinoflex for about a year. There were a couple of issues I had with it. First, it developed a small leak (drip, drip, drip) at the end joint where the cap or 90 degree fitting goes. I couldn’t find where the leak was, very frustrating. Second, the hose wasn’t easy to collapse into the shorter, non-extended length for storage in the bumper. I’ve been using a Valterra Dominator for about 18 months and like it a lot. When stretched or compressed the length stays exactly where you put it. That also makes it nice when I don’t need the full 15’, I can stretch it out to what I need and it stays that way. The Rhinoflex tended to want to stretch out. My Rhinoflex looked like the picture T-Oliver posted. The picture from WhatDa looks more like the Dominator I use. It is black with red end fittings and comes with a clear 90 degree fitting. Mike
  25. Roy and Mary, welcome! The sun will come out again and you’ll be able to enjoy your Oliver. You’re pick up will be just in time for the rally, I would recommend attending. You’ll meet a lot of owners and Oliver staff. It’s a great place to learn about your trailer, ask questions, etc. Mike
