We just returned from Colorado through New Mexico. I had hope to stay at NM Parks or COE but everything there was still closed. I looked at staying at Turquoise Trail but changed our route at the last minute and headed south through Roswell. Stayed at RD Barn RV Park - small, family run, $28. Recommend it for an overnight stop. We’d been running our heater in Colorado and then hit the heat in NM! Fuel prices are great right now. Have a good trip! Mike

Bath faucet/shower end replaceable?
Mike and Carol replied to Bobfirst's topic in Ollie Modifications
The Delta faucet I used in our kitchen is not an RV faucet, just a regular house faucet. It fit fine. Mike -
We bought the Motorola T100’s. They are small and work well for backing up when we have no cell reception. They stay in the console in the truck.

My tires will be 5 years old in a few months and should be replaced. I’ll probably get a full size spare and then just cover with some kind of fabric cover since the larger Oliver cover won’t fit my trailer. Mike

We used regular twin sheets for a couple of years and just tucked in the excess. They worked fine. Then we ordered mattress pads and sheets from AB Lifestyles. They are good quality sheets and fit very well. I had cut 2” foam toppers for our mattresses that worked fine with regular twin sheets but the AB sheets won’t fit around both the topper and mattress, so we just use the mattresses. I think you can ask AB to size the sheets for a topper if you want to use one. Mike

Thanks, John. We enjoy being here so volunteering to moderate isn’t a hardship! Traffic has increased a lot, both new owners and those interested in becoming owners. This is a nice community to belong to. Mike

Bath faucet/shower end replaceable?

I should have been more specific. I replaced the kitchen faucet with the Delta. -
Bath faucet/shower end replaceable?
Mike and Carol replied to Bobfirst's topic in Ollie Modifications
Good luck, I hope it works out! I replaced the original faucet with this Delta model. It has been a very good mod. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B012I44QG4/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 -
I think my dog is sad, and wants to go camping
Mike and Carol replied to SeaDawg's topic in General Discussion
That’s about how I’m feeling. We should be out on the road! We did just get back from a couple of weeks in Colorado, Durango and Pagosa Springs. It was more of a family support trip to help our son during a family crisis. We planned on taking our time coming home by camping New Mexico. Unfortunately, state parks in NM are still closed as are most other public campgrounds. We decided against pricey commercial parks and just came home. Now I’m moping under the dining room table. Extend the tongue - best methods?
Mike and Carol replied to John E Davies's topic in Ollie Modifications
I would PM ScubaRX (Steve Landrum #50). The early Elite II’s had the adjustable tongue, the later ones are fixed so I really don’t have an answer but he will. Mike -
Yep! Looks great!!

Welcome, Peter. When we didn’t have our Oliver we stayed once at Fall Hollow (great breakfast!) and once at a B&B at a local winery. That was about 5 years ago, not sure what is available today. If you’re going to camp on your way home be sure to bring what you’l need to do that. We had a truck load of stuff to camp with a couple of weeks on our way home. Bedding, kitchen items, grill, chairs, etc. Recommend camping close to Hohenwald the first few nights, there are lots of good options. If you have questions during the process you’ll get lots of answer here. Good luck! Mike

Congratulations and welcome! An Oliver will get you where you need to go to see lots of birds and lots of other wildlife. We lived in Augusta, SE GA is a pretty place. Mike

I couldn’t agree more. I have the adaptive cruise control on my Audi S3. I can’t override it so I just don’t use it. The wipers on both the S3 and my Rebel never seem to wipe when I want them to and do wipe when I don’t need them too. Some things are better automated, some things are not. Mike

I’d be interested in this. My AGM’s are still healthy but can’t last forever.

Just ordered our Ollie, picking up in October
Mike and Carol replied to Nancy K.'s topic in Introduce Yourself
Congratulations! Let the fun begin. Hope to meet you at a rally or on the road. Mike -
We had Lone Star Oliver on our trailer for years, I finally took it off because folks thought it was made in Texas and had other confusing questions we got tired of answering. It was like a broken record! It was a consistent conversation starter though!

General Water Leak Discussion
Mike and Carol replied to ahattar's topic in Mechanical & Technical Tips
This is such an unfair comment. “They all seem to leak”? Come on Ahattar, maybe few do but the vast majority don’t. Nan bought used and inherited some problems, we don’t know how well the previous owners did preventative maintenance. Your generalizations are not helpful to anyone. Mike Edit: ours is over 4 years old, 60K miles, never leaked. -
Quick Connect (QD) line pressure
Mike and Carol replied to BuckandConnie's topic in General Discussion
Ditto above. An example - the Weber Q series propane grills come with a regulator. They won’t work off the Oliver quick connect unless you remove the regulator and replace with a quick connect fitting. My Q1000 has been working fine off the quick connect. I have another propane grill but the regulator and hose are permanently mounted to the grill. So, if you get a low pressure stove with a built in regulator make sure you’ll be able to remove it. I’ll check with Oliver Service. Is it the same Atwood model? If there was a Camping World close by I’d check there, I’ll check their web site. I can’t find the same model on Amazon.

We ordered ours with “dark red” and “dark gray” colors. No fade after 4+ years. I did add our own front logo that has the same colors. No fade. This shows our stripes earlier this month when I was installing new porch lights.

Our CO/Propane detector has been randomly alarming this last week. I put a fan blowing on it and it still wants to go off. It woke us up this morning at O-dark-thirty and is now sitting here on the dinette table. It was going off yesterday with the door open, windows open and roof vents open. It was good all night until early this morning. Both roof vents are still open and one window was partially open while we ran an electric heater (mid 30s right now). Our Atwood is hardwired, the wires are soldered onto the circuit board, so I snipped them. I’ve been looking on Amazon for a replacement, either hardwired or battery. There are a couple of Atwood’s and some MTI models. Has anyone replaced theirs yet? Since our smoke detector is also a CO detector it seems that a propane only detector would be ok. More models available without the CO detection. Mike

Just put the deposit down on an Ollie Elite II
Mike and Carol replied to RoyW's topic in Introduce Yourself
Welcome Chuck and Sandy! With a little patience you’ll find the perfect used Ollie. Carol and I graduated from Leavenworth high school, so we’re very familiar with KC! Mike -
This one is pretty heavy duty. Just $8.99 on Amazon. I’ve had it on at least a couple of years. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07GJHD3PD/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
