  1. Silly question, foot pump is for motorcycle and small utility trailer, not for spare tire in photo. 🤣
  2. We keep Ollie in a 36'X36' hangar with three sides. It does not have power, occasionally take the solar panels or gen-set to the hangar to charge the battery in the winter. It has an asphalt floor. We have had mud daubers to get into Ollie's window drains stopping them up. Now we put tape on the drains to keep the daubers out.
  3. Agree, I like Toyota’s practice of being conservative with their weights. We never exceed original placarded weights, too.
  4. A year ago weighed the Tundra with all contents removed, current accessories installed, full 32 gallon fuel tank, and no occupants. Found Toyota was conservative with payload weight on our Tundra. Original payload of 1400 pounds from Toyota that I comply with. Subtracted current Curb weight from GVW to learn payload. Use CAT scales to be sure we don't exceed GVW, front axle, and rear axle maximum weights. For how we camp, we don't have any problems staying under Toyota's maximum weights. Very surprised by the results: GVW 6990 pounds - Curb weight 5440 pounds = 1550 pounds. Reading Truck on payload and towing capacities: https://www.readingtruck.com/calculating-your-trucks-maximum-payload-and-towing-capacity More details in following thread.
  5. Agree, hard to believe how fast these pickup trucks are with the small displacement V-6 twin turbos. When the traffic is heavy and I have a gap in traffic to "blend in", it's more of a thought pulling out from a stop sign blending in with the traffic. Even when towing Ollie, it has plenty of power. Fuel economy is good with these engines, too.
  6. That’s lots of weight. Our Ollie empty weight was lighter than yours when new. Our Ollie does not have factory solar, it only has one 100AH lithium battery, the Ollie spare tire is transported in the truck bed, and we have much smaller LP tanks installed than all Ollies come with. With different CAT scales weighing our rig over the years, weights posted are accurate. Saw the tool chest you keep in the TV, I keep a small 5 pound tool bag for repairs along with another 5 pound kit for PEX repairs.
  7. Wow! We have not had our Tundra/Ollie rig that high before. How does the performance of your rig at higher elevations compare to lower elevations? Always assumed the twin turbos would perform well at high elevations..
  8. Yep, agree. Our 1/2 ton 2022 SR5 Crew Cab 3.4L twin turbo non- hybrid Tundra towing our LE2 does a fine job for our needs. The Crew Cab Tundra does a good job when Grandchildren visit, too. On a camping trip last week on the way to the campground decided to weigh the rig. We always weigh with close to a full fuel tank, two souls on board, and empty black/grey/fresh tanks except for full 6 gallon hot water heater. This trip we took our normal camping gear in the pickup bed with golf clubs, gear, and cooler in the back seat area. We played a neat mountain course on this trip, too. CAT scales weights Tundra and Ollie connected last week. TV steer axle 3080 pounds TV Drive axle 3560 pounds Trailer axles 4460 pounds Rig Weight 11,100 pounds Normally tongue weight is around 480 pounds how we normally load, did not disconnect TV this time to see tongue weight on this trip. The ready to camp weight of our LE2 is under 5,000 pounds. 2022 SR5 Crew Cab Tundra Maximum Weights GVW 6990 pounds GAWR Max front axle 4,080 pounds GAWR Max rear axle 3,860 pounds TWR Trailer Max weight 11,400 pounds GCWR Combined TV/Trailer 17,250 lbs Edit added document:
  9. Art and David, Great photos!!!!! Love Flag photos!!!!!!!!
  10. We camped at New River State Park NC this week. Very nice campground and great area to visit: View from Mount Jefferson:
  11. Great photos, food, and trip. We have not visited RMNP yet, but it’s on our list. Please post photos!
  12. Sounds like a Great plan! Have fun!!!!
  13. Always wanted to attend the Reno Air Races, but never made it to the Races. Any word on where the Races may be moving to? Have a great time!
  14. Nice photos! Looking forward to seeing trip photos! Will you cross the Mississippi River today?
  15. Very nice installation! Look forward to hearing how it performs for you.
  16. We had the same issues with our black tank valve a few years ago. Poured Thetford drain valve lubricant in the black tank, but still continued to have the problems. Lubricated the push/pull cables and did not correct the valve bypass issue, but cable worked easier. Going from memory. Used valve lubricant on the valve during reassembly. Also used 1/4" drive set with long extension, and tape on my finger to hold one nut during reassembly. I cannot speak to the wires. It was a few years ago, but kept photos of the job. Black tank valve still working without issues. Believe I had to loosen the hose clamps and slid pipe back a little while removing & installing new valve.
  17. This reminds me of when we were visiting another couple in their camper while camping in South Carolina. They had left canned alcoholic beverages outside of the camper to keep them cool. Later that evening raccoons started running around chasing each other making making lots of noise. There were many pine trees in the campground and the raccoons started climbing and falling out of the trees, too. You could hear them when they hit the ground. We went outside and found holes chewed in all of the cans and realized the raccoons started acting up because they were drunk.
  18. We towed our LE2 for a few years with a 2016 SR5 5.7 4X4 Double Cab Tundra. Because of rear end sag with around 480lbs of Ollie’s tongue weight, installed a pair of Firestone airbags and inflated to around 20PSI while towing Ollie. The Tundra had plenty of power and stability towing Ollie out west. Only problem with Ollie connected, it was easy to reach the TV gross weight. Airbags do not increase TV gross weight. Here is a Motortrend article about towing a 7295 lb trailer that’s heavier than the LE2 gross weight with a 2016 TRD Pro Tundra. https://www.motortrend.com/features/1702-towing-with-a-2016-toyota-tundra-trd-pro/
  19. Yep, it's quick & easy hook up & disconnect on Ollie with chains, plan to keep them, too. Edit: Here's a video showing another 2015 Ollie hitch & chains in the first part of the video. Our 2015 frame is different from current Ollie frames, too.
  20. Our 2015 LE2 came from Oliver with chains, never had any issues with them!
  21. We have always had a great relationship with Oliver after buying a used 2015 LE2 Ollie during 2016. Oliver even took care of warranty work for us after Ollie was out of warranty during 2016. They told us it did not matter that we purchased Ollie used, they welcomed us into the Oliver family. Even though I perform most of the maintenance on our Ollie, still occasionally visit Oliver's service department for maintenance. I really appreciate @PAndrews with Oliver previous post in this thread confirming Oliver's future plans. Speaking of Thor Industries, they purchased Livin'Lite CampLite Camper from Scott Tuttle during August of 2013. When we purchased our second camper a early model 2010 Livin'Lite CampLite travel trailer, we did not want a wood floor in our camper because our first camper developed wood floor rot. Ollie is our third camper. In 2010 Scott developed Travel Trailers with aluminum plank floors, aluminum main & wall/roof frame, aluminum sheet cabinets, aluminum sheet covered interior and exterior walls including aluminum sheet roof. It was a sturdy and rugged camper, but to some folks had a sterile looking interior because of all of the sheet metal. Starting later in 2010 Scott started using Azdel composite panels to soften the interior looks. Later, Livin'Lite even worked with Ford developing a Ford Truck Camper. Here's a link to an article on August 2018 by TruckCamper: "The Rise and Fall of Camplite and Ford Truck campers": https://www.truckcampermagazine.com/news/the-rise-and-fall-of-camplite-and-ford-truck-campers/
  22. Would never tow Ollie on the highway with our 2003 4 cylinder Tacoma, but it helps the Tacoma’s confidence moving Ollie around home. It has 0” sag with it’s airbags inflated to 30 psi. When towing Ollie with our 1/2 ton 2022 Tundra, the Timbren rear suspension enhancement system helps our Tundra handle Ollie nicely without ever exceeding any of the Tundra’s capacities. Have to admit we are minimalist how we load & camp. I understand why folks here like 3/4 & 1 ton tow vehicles for Ollie towing duty. For our style of camping a 1/2 ton TV with suspension enhancement works fine towing our LE2.
  23. Really like air bags on a tow vehicle. Had air bags on our previous 2016 Tundra and currently on our 2003 Tacoma for smaller trailers. Made the Tundra/Ollie rig handle with more stability. Installed Timbren suspension enhancement system on our 2022 Tundra, but still prefer air bags for towing Ollie.
  24. When I installed the EZ Flex system on our Ollie, the plastic bushings were destroyed after the original owner towed Ollie 6000 miles. The wet pins are an improvement, but agree, it could be a better system. Decided to find the easiest way to grease & maintain the EZ Flex system we have. Here’s the Dexter spring wet pin and bronze bushing used in the EZ Flex system. The bronze bushing wall thickness is .07”, have to admit I damaged one or two 😬during installation because bronze is much softer than steel. Glad I purchased extra bronze bushings. Helped a friend install wet pins and bronze bushings on his Legacy Elite.
  25. Saw this thread today, had Ollie at home today taking care of some minor maintenance before the next trip, decided to grease Ollie, too. Took about 15 to minutes to grease all of the EZ Flex fittings. Started using an AirTec Lube-Shuttle pistol grip grease system a few years ago on Ollie and other equipment. It's pricey as far as grease gun & grease is concerned, like the cartridge system. The G200EP grease meets Dexter's NLGI2 specs. Use Redline CV2 to hand pack wheel bearings. https://advancedenginetech.com/ https://lube-shuttle.us/lube-shuttle-grease-data/ Take this kit on the road for extended trips.
