  1. It's also interesting that Thor's Airstream brand is installing Battleborn Gamechanger 3.0 and Victron products in some of their offerings. The RV/Boat energy market is getting more and more competitive. Charlie.
  2. Amen. That's the corporate world I'm familiar with... Charlie.
  3. The protective tape Oliver uses around the pantry edges would be a good choice - haven't looked for it but I bet it's available on Amazon. Charlie.
  4. Scary? We previously owned an Airstream 24' Sprinter - that was much more scary when it was windy or when passing/passed/meeting semi trucks. JMO. Charlie.
  5. In five years of using Battleborn lithium, we have never taken our batteries down to their bottom settings on purpose. They did go "dead" once while boondocking and we had to plug in our portable Yeti 1000 (emulating shore power) to initiate the internal BMS. This is from BB's blog: "Some batteries, including Battle Born batteries, have a low-voltage disconnect feature built into the BMS. This is a safety feature designed to protect your batteries and help ensure they last as long as possible. The low-voltage disconnect mode typically kicks in when a battery reaches 10V, and it’s important that you charge your battery as soon as possible. Within five days is best. The only way to get a battery out of low-voltage disconnect mode is by resetting it, which means charging it. You’ll need to plug into shore power or alternator power or get a charge from solar panels. If you can, charge them back up to 100% and allow the batteries to balance all of the cells." Charlie.
  6. While the reach is problematic, removing and replacing the condensation layer, the heavy latex bed, foam topper and the bedding is the bigger problem solved. Oh, do I dare mention the 5 pillows my wife keeps on the bed? Charlie
  7. There have been several solutions to the dreaded fresh water tank drain valve location. I had not seen this DIY "fix" to the problem. Now it's easy to drain the tank when needed without lifting and straining to reach the valve in the bottom of the hull. By leaving the factory valve in place, it can be used if winter weather becomes worrisome. Charlie
  8. Take a look at my post above from February 2022. Charlie.
  9. I agree, I'm too poor to buy anything else. Charlie.
  10. Well, I LOVE that initial wheel turn in our Ram eHemi when towing. As a past president of the Arizona Energy Assn, everyone needs to chill on electric and let it just happen. Geronimo John has it correct - power production is an issue and the grid is even a bigger issue. Charlie.
  11. They don't kill rattlesnakes in Arizona! Charlie
  12. We use "Snap Caps."
  13. I installed a 32 LG Smart TV and I wrapped the cords in a WHITE cover - like Oliver should have done 😉 Charlie.
  14. No. I have installed it in other RVs that we've owned but bulked on installing it in the Ollie 2 because of limited space. I installed the Victron MPPT and the Victron shunt in it, but stopped at going further because I'm getting too old to stand on my head. Charlie
  15. Personally, I like the clean look of your setup! Charlie.
  16. Campendium and Campendium360 provide insight to those near the National Parks. Go to https://www.campendium.com/national-parks and then you can use the "near" filter to find those close to the "real deal." Charlie.
  17. Well... "Ollie" works for us (and I'm sure for many others 😁) Charlie
  18. We have both the Proven (shown by John Dehne) and the Bulldog lock (shown by Mike & Carol) . The Proven is very heavy and requires a bit of a head stand to unlock it. Hence, we use the Bulldog most often 'cause it's just easier to use. I think leaving RV parks with folks around the Bulldog is my preference. I think leaving a remote boondocking site the Proven is my preference. Charlie.
  19. We first leveled our Ollie2 on a concrete surface, then mounted the battery operated Bluetooth unit inside the garage opening on the vertical forward panel. That way we can switch it on/off easily before and after manipulating the rear stabilizer up/down switches located there. Charlie.
  20. Cancellations happen. We cancelled our order for a new Ollie2 in 2021 after finding a 2020 for sale near us. Oliver was quick to send us the refundable portion of the required purchase down-payment. That says a lot about the good people at Oliver 😉. Charlie.
  21. FYI, we scale out at 6200# with full water and a week's worth of boondocking stuff. Charlie.
  22. If it doesn't apply to an Oliver, why post it here? Charlie.
  23. We have the latex bed option... the very comfortable, heavy latex bed option. While we like them - we hate them. We like sleeping on them. We hate making them up everyday or moving them to access the basement. It has become a chore. Sleeping bags are not an option for us. Does anyone have a light-weight option they'd recommend? Charlie.
  24. An electric fresh water drain valve would be a better option than the optional grey tank separator valve in the bathroom... just saying. Charlie.
  25. Jason said: "I requested that"... and told us why. It's nice to know that the Oliver staff pays attention to us! THANK YOU! Charlie
