  1. Our son-in-law goes 3 nights on the Goal Zero Yeti 1000 that I gave him. Their site claims 15 hours @ 65w.
  2. Spike, I have built BB/Victron systems. If it'd help to stop by and see/discuss your various options on your way home, PM me and I'll give you the address. We're west of Phoenix. Charlie.
  3. Sunrise on BLM land near Congress, AZ Charlie.
  4. I'd prefer a new Airstream without screws, staples and rivets. Wait! I have one. It's called an Ollie!
  5. It depend on what you like to refrigerate/freeze. Our 2013 Airstream frig was so small that we needed to carry a portable refrig/freezer. Now in a 2020 Ollie with the 4.5, we haven't needed to take the portable. My wife is much happier. We can easily go 5 days without needing additional provisions. The recently survey asked if a larger optional frig would be desirable and our answer was no - not that the larger frig wouldn't be nice - but, because raising the microwave to accommodate the larger frig was not desirable (she's vertically challenged.)
  6. Good to hear! I guess cutting off part of one bump stop flange and removing wheels for convenience are the hard parts of DIY installation. Charlie
  7. John, Air Lift requires 5 psi, too. These units are bags with bump stops inside - they are not installed within the truck springs - they replace the OEM bump stops. The Air Lift wireless onboard compressor I ordered won't be available from the manufacturer until summer, so I'll use one of the digital compressors (Skil, Milwaukee, Dewalt, etc.) at valve stems coming out of the top license plate screw openings until the wireless compressors are available from Air Lift. Charlie.
  8. This is what I ordered to install. https://www.etrailer.com/Vehicle_Suspension/Air_Lift/AL88375.html Charlie.
  9. Frankly, I love the eTorque system and IMO your salesman doesn't know what he is talking about. Maybe he's referring to the new eco 6. BTW, I understand 2023 is the last year for the Hemi ☹️. Here's a link to a YouTube where a factory engineer explain the multiple things the eTorque system does. I have no negatives at this point, but I only have 3k miles on the Ram. Take a look at this one - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nwnw452p2ZA Charlie.
  10. I guess it's time to report on our TV. No crew cab models will fit in our garage! That really limited our choices! A Ram Quad cab will fit in our garage - barely. I like the Laramie trim, but Ram has decided to nix the Laramie trim in the line up of 2022 Quad cabs. After a couple of months our dealer found one acceptable to us - a new 2021 Ram 1500 Quad 4x4 Laramie 5.7 Hemi eTorque with tow package. Love that Hemi ! We have pulled the E2 about a 1000 miles now. We have averaged 14.4 mpg in Arizona - that included all types of desert/mountain terrains. I typically do not drive over 65 mph. While this Ram tows well and the Ollie behaves well behind it, I'm going to add Air Lift 5000 bags. Not because it needs it, but because I'm old and lazy. We're planning three long "destination" trips this summer (almost 10,000 miles) and I'll be using "overnight pull throughs" whenever possible. In doing so, I'll simply adjust the air bags to suit the front/back leveling issue with the partially filled shallow tanks while still hooked up to the TV. Yah, I'm lazy.
  11. Birds & Barrels Vineyard near Willcox, AZ - a Harvest Host overnight stay 1/13/2022.
  12. Hey! Don't forget the metal for the emergency release that typically hangs lower than the door when opened.
  13. Here's an article saying the same thing at https://www.rvtravel.com/rv-electricity-companion-bonding-plug/ and it points to Amazon links for pics.
  14. The required protection systems (alarms) are always on - propane detectors, etc.
  15. John's Sooo correct here. I guess the theme I'm try to communicate is find the "system" that allows you to add components to as you build. Example: when you add the Victron MultiPlus inverter/generator to the system, it eliminates problems before they happen by controlling multiple energy sources. Additionally, stored (battery) energy can supplement other sources - like shore power or generator power when needed - the amount is up to the user. I chose 8.5 amps as the limit from my stored energy when plugged into a regular outlet in my RV garage - the surge needed to run the RV AC. I also found the Victron apps got me well acquainted with the when, how and where as energy flowed in my previous RV.
  16. It sounds like you want to go first class on your upgrades. Before settling on your current intentions, you might explore the expanded benefits of a Victron solar controller and a Victron Multiplus 2k inverter/charger. After having upgrading to these items in an Airstream, I find I miss their capabilities in our Ollie. I know that I'll be changing our 2020 Ollie setup in the near future. I hate to spoil your plans, but I'd hate it more if I didn't point you toward the alternate options that I'll be making (again.) BTW, I think the Ollie is Sooo much better than comparable Airstreams!
  17. The lowered tailgate on our 2021 Ram 1500 Laramie came within an inch of the top of our receiver 😑. Too close to suit me, so I flipped the receiver and cut off the bottom couple of inches to keep it from bottoming out when boondocking in desert ridges. That worked for me.
  18. I think your son was astute in recognizing what pleases you. I liked that you were humble in recognizing he now knows things you don't. Been there... 🙂 Charlie
  19. Congratulations and welcome to the Elite.
  20. Love the idea and would attend... But, our problem is the timing as we typically stay at a Southwest Colorado site with friends the second half of June. So sadly, unless they decide against going this year, we'd pass on the group site ☹️ Charlie
  21. John, Take a look at the schematics within the manuals for the 2019s and see if they help you. Charlie.
  22. We have one if you are interested.
  23. Personally, I'd just visit your Ollie more frequently. I hear they can get lonely.
  24. CnC, Hull #617, Dom 11K Have yet to use this one. Used the 13.5 K our MB Airstream (Sprinter) twice in 6 years. Note that too frequent cycling usually means the humidity isn't being controlled because the temperature is being satisfied too quickly. Additionally, the slower the fan speed the more humidity is removed.
  25. Bluetooth typically is good for 30 or so yards. Sorry, but I know of no reasonable way to extend the signal. When in the house and our unit in the barn, I've gotten connection by manipulating my phone's position (near a window, etc.) Love Cochise county 🙂
