  1. I'd be interested in hearing what you find and decide in that direction, as it's on my list and a *never been* for me as well!
  2. I toured both models and the height was the thing that hit me hardest -- I must stand tall, because I'm only 5'7 but I felt claustrophobic due to the lower ceiling. If it had the height, I might very well have gone with the LE1.
  3. I'm a newbie too -- don't have my truck or my trailer yet. Since I was shopping the truck with the trailer already set in my heart, I had great advice and suggestions through my Oliver Sales members. Since that time, I've discovered this forum and the many excellent members who provide so much great advice. A LOT of it is already organized -- I'm still learning where to find information about topics, whether on the Oliver website or here in the forum. My tour wasn't at the plant but here in Florida, and it blew my socks off. After drooling over the website photos and videos, the in-person tour with owners model really did put the cherry on that float!
  4. I'd love to come! I'm around the bend, way way down the west coast of Florida!
  5. ... and no Anderson hitch necessary .... as recommended to me by my Oliver sales team, for my future Chevy HD 2500.
  6. As a matter of fact, it is featured in the Museum of Modern Art for it's beautiful and functional design! It's extremely easy to use and more than a pressure cooker. I was lucky to have a friend give me some very useful tips. Reach out before you buy, if you want to hear more. I saw your Nordicware wok in another (food related) post; very nice. As to dish-washing (our topic), I like your idea of gathering utensils and plates for less frequent washing. Where do you stow all those dirty dishes? I've been trying to find the good ol' fashioned Rubbermaid Tub and I can't find one locally.
  7. My Oliver salesman also pointed out that you can often find 20# tanks for sale at places -- gas stations, 7-11, etc -- but will rarely find the 30# tanks at these places. Between that knowledge and considering that a 30# tank weighs 75 or 80 pounds when full, I decided on the 20# tanks. I will carry an extra if necessary for boondocking, etc.
  8. This is good to hear, since this is my newbie experience. It's a matter of fractions of an inch on the steering wheel and suddenly my 'great' alignment is all out of whack on that landscape trailer. :)
  9. This is what I've been doing -- practicing with a friend's truck and his medium sized landscape maintenance trailer. Practice practice practice.
  10. I've been an avid tent camper for decades, about half of it hiking or biking, and half with a small 2 person tent via automobile. I'm hoping that boondocking becomes the better portion of my use of the Oliver -- I want to get out where I can see the stars (in between the satellites). Water is precious and I was taught to clean dishes while they are still moist, using a scrubby rag or steel brillo with salt or sand or baking soda. Now that I think about it, maybe that's why I have the habit of cleaning my cookware and utensils before I sit down to eat! I've been thinking about this as I assemble (in my mind) what to bring when I pick up my Oliver... the nice folks who allowed me to tour their Olivers all used disposable plates and cups, but I was raised differently, so that just doesn't sit well for me. I have some simple white Corelle dinnerware -- light weight dishes (made from 80% recycled glass) and that is what I plan to bring (plates and bowls). I don't drink anything except water and tea, so my cup is easy to keep clean. It's the cookware that I keep thinking about... I plan on my steel pan (good on any source of heat) and my Futura pressure cooker (also serves as a pot and is good on any source of heat -- it's not electric). I'd be interested in what you and others tend to use the most for cookware while boondocking. https://www.corelle.com/ https://www.hawkinscookers.com/WebPCMain.aspx?cat=FSS
  11. No way I would believe 6 weeks, even if it was already built. No matter what manufacturer. I didn't actually "order" a truck (which apparently is even slower!) -- I nabbed one that was already slated to be built and delivered to the local dealer: a 2022 Silverado 2500 HD. I lucked into it, by walking into the dealer on the day that they learned it was coming (early Nov).
  12. I can attest to this. It took several months of hard searching to find a truck that was "scheduled" for build. I put refundable money down to hold it in my name, due to the crazy market and lack of availability. My truck was built (thankfully) and is not missing any parts (thankfully), but I still don't have a truck because shipping is a nightmare after our logistics bogged down from various circumstances (covid measures, loss of jobs during lockdowns, etc). My truck has been 'ready' for delivery since Christmas. Just waiting for it to be loaded on a train or a truck; some people have been waiting for a finished vehicle for six months.
  13. excellent idea. my fabrication hasn't started yet, but they likely have material units already dedicated for it, lined up. still, worth asking. i have a question: where are you seeing a Truma AC reference? i can't find it in the survey and it didn't show up on my general website search.
  14. Thanks to you for the question -- I'm anticipating this possibility in March. I've lived south of the freeze line for decades, and lost my winter driving skills long ago. What remains are the memories of black ice, the realization that I was drifting on the road, how to stop (slowly); needing an ice-scraper to clean the windshield; putting the wiper blades up before nightfall snowfall or icing; carrying cat litter or sand in the back for extra grip. Beginning well after sunrise is a great tip; these are all good tips. Let the adventure begin!

  16. I just downloaded ($9.99) and .... don't see any settings, but see references to AllStays Pro. But when you say "under settings" are you referring to the Filter function? I think that's it, and thank you. There are a lot of filter options, including water and propane, various types of settings, specific stores, etc. Thanks for any tips.
  17. My neighbor has the same truck as you @CnC and it's a beauty. He loves his Hemi, too! Now I'm going to have to look up what an Air Lift bag is. Not that I'm lazy, but I'm solo, and I might want less work on occasion.
  18. I read that (and a bunch of other CR articles) and it doesn't sound good. The article was focused on 2021 vehicles, if I remember correctly, and stated that there was a 'refresh' that should have taken care of the issue/s. However, there is also supposedly a lawsuit for older vehicles that focuses on a gross amount of oil-consumption, supposedly an issue that was either ignored or not resolved. My ordered vehicle is a diesel engine. There are also rumors about faulty parts (CHIPS!) that might be responsible for a large number of vehicles sitting idly in lots (due to faulty chip and now an assembled vehicle that isn't running).... but those are rumors, not to be taken as facts. I'll continue to try to stay positive. A friend's vehicle is arriving from GM on Thursday; her order was a week ahead of mine, so maybe, just maybe.
  19. UPDATE on my Tow Vehicle: Nutshell version: In November, I placed money on a Chevy truck that was scheduled for assembly in December. It was built, with scheduled delivery on January 4th. No delivery yet. The dealership is frustrated but has no answers beyond what they can show me online: a vehicle with a VIN number, reportedly 'complete' and 'waiting for dispatch' somewhere near the Flint Assembly Plant. There's a "VINview" map program that supposedly shows you where the vehicle is; some days the map works, some days it doesn't but it's never showed the vehicle outside of the general area of Flint. Trains and trucks are both utilized for delivery here, from there. I'm in the waiting game. My biggest question now is what I will do if my truck isn't delivered before my Ollie is ready for pickup. I'm trying not to stress myself about this, but ideas are welcome!
  20. Is it hard to remove the basket? My order is in, I'm not sure I could change it at this point (though they aren't scheduled to build until next month)...
  21. I had a dealer contact me about a 2020 used Chevy 2500HD Silverado, roughly 50,000 miles selling for $79,000. That is a LOT more than my new 2022 same build that is 'in transit' and due 'any day now'. It is indeed crazy times.
  22. As a relative newbie, I'm not sure how this works, but perhaps Oliver could upload videos on the Tech Bulletin section? It's certainly something everyone (including future owners with Truma) should be aware of and able to inspect.
  23. Thanks to the original poster for the question!
  24. Could the older kids sleep in a tent?
  25. Congratulations --- I see that your shirt matches the Oliver graphics! I'm roughly 3 months and 100 hulls behind you. Enjoy!
