  1. Reservations made! Looking forward to another great rally.
  2. Great photo! Hope you have a great time!
  3. Born & raised in Michigan. I can relate to what Sherry is saying. In the 70's, before Clair & I were married, we started our travels in Michigan. We had both spent most of our life very close to home so it was exciting to get out & tour our beautiful state. When we moved to Florida we spent a lot of time traveling within the state & then branched out to see most of the eastern side of the US. We shy away from cities, preferring to travel back roads & visit small communities. So far, we haven't found a state without beauty or interest. Sooo...we know that there's so much more out there to experience & enjoy! Thanks for sharing Sherry! Clair was just talking about taking a trip up into Wisconsin & over to Minnesota to visit a friend of ours. Adventures await! Kathy
  4. Checked Morbern Prodigy out today....really looks like great stuff!
  5. I think I would stay away from the looser woven fabrics that Oliver offers. I chose a Crypton fabric for our couch setup & breathable vinyl fabric for our dinette cushions. Sunbrella is a great option & I may have gone that way if I had found a fabric I liked. The new vinyl fabrics are much nicer than they used to be & may be the best option for bigger dogs. Crypton fabrics states: "Stain, moisture and odor resistant – Crypton is the ultimate performance fabric!" We will see about that! I like the fact that their fabrics are easily cleaned with a water-based cleaner and feel softer. Before you order please Have them send you several fabric samples so you can double check colors/quality. I found my fabrics at 40% off at https://www.discounteddesignerfabrics.com and I was very pleased with their service. I believe most online stores will ship directly to the upholsterer, mine did. Oliver lists a couple other online fabric stores (Miami Corp & Kovi) on their website. Note: All of these fabrics choices are more expensive than Oliver's base fabric choices.
  6. Hi Mike... Congratulaions on your retirement. We just picked up our Ollie after dreaming & planning for MANY years. We hope you can connect with Mike & Carol or Pete to see one in person. If you want to learn all you can about an Oliver, please try to attend the 2018 Rally. You will meet some great people and see lots of the options available. Non-owners are always welcome! We went to this year's Rally & ended up ordering our Elite II earlier than we had planned on doing SO.
  7. Thank you Reed! I really appreciated your tip on saving water with the Eco mode. We have no need to use the comfort mode. We didn't get any decalcification tablets with our unit and wondered if we should have. I will give Jason a call about that. Thankfully our interior switch is working as it should. We are very happy with our choice to go with Truma.
  8. Welcome Tom & Cheryl! I second Mike's suggestion to visit everybody at next year's rally! You will learn so much while there and meet some great Ollie owners. You may end up doing what we did.....We ordered ours at this year's rally & just picked it up! We are resting comfortably in the David Crockett State Park right now. BTW, we live in Oakdale, TN if you'd like to see our Ollie send us a PM. We have the twin bed model - Elite II
  9. Will try to upload couch photos now......sorry - didn't realize photos were so large
  10. Delivery Day has come and gone. We are thrilled! Special thanks goes out to Richie, Phillip & Heather for going out of their way to make our pick up day a special one. I've taken photos that I will share as soon as I can get a decent internet connection. We love the graphic decal that Phillip did for us and our couch configuration is perfect for our needs. The tables we had are working great with it & stow away nicely in our closet when not needed..I've been busy personalizing the interior with decals, bedding & pillows, etc, while Clair's going thru the exterior stuff. Richie has been great about showing us the things that were "new" to us. Now the fun begins! Photos coming soon!
  11. Hey Scotty -will be sure to say Hi to Anita. I'm wondering when you picked yours up....they've produced 100 units since then - pretty good, I think. Thanks for your good wishes. We are all packed now, hitting the road at 6A EST. Sherry, I really like the looks of that table mount! I'm going to have Clair look into how we could use it. Thanks for sharing.
  12. Hi Scotty, We thought the same as you. We found that we seldom used our dinettes in our previous tts, preferring to eat outside. We ordered a couch cushion set for our dinette, as well as the usual dinette cushions. We will put the dinette cushions & the pole in storage, may use them in the future. We are picking up our Clever Beast tomorrow so I'll post some photos. We have 2 small folding, adjustable height tables that we can put in front of the couch on rainy days. Our cesky terrier, Emma, will be very happy to use the couch for her bed, I'm sure.
  13. I don't think Hohenwald is in the path...????????
  14. Sounds like lots of fun! Need to have Clair check the area for a nice/cheap campground thats not full....or maybe his last employer would allow us to use their parking lot!!! Smiles.....Kathy
  15. OMG! Just checked out the maps and we will be able to enjoy it from our home or anywhere in this area. Nice! Kathy
  16. Hi all.....I'm sorry that some owners have had issues with their Olivers, I'm sure it's been heartbreaking but I do believe that the Oliver team will take care them, learning from their issues and helping all of us. We will be picking our Ollie up the 31st of the month. I know I've build up some high expectations after lurking these board for so long but I'm also a realist & aware that nothing is perfect. Even the most expensive motorhomes have problems! It's how those problems are addressed by the manufacturer that makes the difference. From what I have heard here and at the rally, the Oliver company truly cares about their owners and goes out of their way to take care of problems, regardless of whether they are on warranty or off. To me, that says it all. They may be having some growing pains but they'll get it all worked out, I'll bet on that! Clair & I started started out, many years ago, with a small pop up trailer. I really loved it and we had so much fun! Clair broke 3 fishing poles that he'd tucked inside when he pulled the beds out during a rain storm one night. He was not a happy camper. We moved on from that unit to a small 5th wheeler that we pulled with an under powered & very old Dodge truck. That was interesting & quite funny at times, to say the least. I enjoyed the 5th wheeler but Clair hated the siding on it. It was far to difficult to keep clean and drove him crazy with black streaks....so we moved on to a small Class C. That one was a big mistake, we both hated it! So, that was traded for a larger Class C that we lovingly named "Big Bertha". For some reason, it didn't suit us for very long but it was nice when we were showing our dogs. From there we moved on to a Titanium 5th wheeler that turned out to be a wonderful unit but we had to let it go with the economic downfall. I kept telling my husband that I wanted an Oliver when we retired because I wanted something small, easy to travel with, and easy to clean but we had a few years to wait for that. A couple years ago we decided it was time to start camping again. We wanted something small so we ended up with our 26 ft. Rockwood. It's OK but doesn't meet up to the standards of any of our others and it's got constant nagging little issues. Just little things but it's always something. On our last trip a weld broke on one of the supports holding up the gray water tank. We had cars & trucks flagging us down on that one...sparks flying everywhere. I'm very happy that we chose to go with the Oliver Elite II. I know that we will be happy even if we do have a few minor issues here and there. We want this one to be our forever trailer. There are so many things to love about the Oliver! I know it's not for everybody but it's definitely for us. We can get the same experience we had when we were in our pop up living in a classy, easy to clean, modern Ollie. I am getting so excited, can't you tell!? I have all of the bedding made and I've been pulling together the basics for inside, trying to keep it as simple possible. Clair has everything prepped for outside. Just a few more days guys and we will be part of the Oliver family! Smiles....Kathy
  17. Great job Brandi! Most of our RVs have had doors with frosted glass so I haven't thought about this. Now, I'm wondering if our "soon to be picked up" Ollie will have clear or frosted glass. Smiles...Kathy
  18. Brandi Love your "Jellybean" theme! Great cushion fabric choice too. Now the fun begins!! Smiles....Kathy
  19. Welcome Rodney & Rene! Good to hear that you are no longer lurking! Kathy & Clair (Born and raised in Michigan)
  20. Sounds like you are headed for some great adventures!! Enjoy!! Smiles....Kathy
  21. Hi John, I understand your frustration. I have just finished making fitted matress pads for our twin beds. I found some 33x75x15" microfiber sheet sets on Overstock but the fitted sheet fits poorly. We prefer cotton sheets so I will probably make our fitted sheets out of flat sheets. The manufacturer that made our custom matrresses suggested using waterproof encasements in a boat or travel trailer application so I found 28x75x10" sized encasements on Amazon. They are soft & don't feel "plasticy", plus they fit our 9.5" deep mattresses perfectly. I am re-purposing a King-sized blanket (cut in half) that we are using in our current stick built. I will be using twin quilts on top - waiting to see if they will have to be modified or not. Note: I ordered the 28" wide encasement by mistake but it fit perfectly. The mattress template Heather sent us is slightly under 29 1/2" wide. Kathy
  22. Great timing! On our way home from Michigan, using a new route & needed a place to stop for a few hours sleep. Checked out 'RV Parky' and it quickly took us to a Walmart Supercenter. Thanks! Clair & Kathy
  23. Don't be afraid to drive in & ask even if online booking shows the park is full. We camp quite frequently in Georgia State Parks. Georgia uses an online booking system & they are normally fully booked by February each year but you can drive in & they will give out the sites that were canceled or people didn't show up, etc. We pulled into Mocassin Creek SP on friday morning & got a prime site on the river side. Each morning Clair went up to the camp store to see if we could add another day. We were able the stay the entire Memorial weekend without moving from our site. Most Georgia SP sites have water & electric, clean bathrooms, a dump station & a few of the parks allow you to run a hose to their drainage grates for gray water. We enjoyed hearing the local musicians by the park's evening bonfire. Kathy
  24. Hi David & Gail...Welcome to the Oliver community! We will be picking up our Oliver next month so I can relate to your excitement. Your build sounds very similar to ours. I'm like you, hoping we have chosen wisely. I opted to custom order my cushion fabrics (because we travel with a dog) & we tend to be hard on fabrics. Heather provided the necessary yardages & we had our fabrics shipped directly to the gentleman that does their upholstery. We also decided to mix our countertops after seeing an Ollie at the rally. We are going with standard countertops in kitchen, under microwave & under the pantry & fiber-granite on the bedside table, on the dinette table & in bathroom. The only reason we put it on the bedside table was to prevent water damage to the standard wood top, since my hubby (Clair) keeps a water glass by the bed. Clair wants to put a stainless steel countertop in rhe kitchen eventually. I'll be excited to see that happen! From what we saw at the rally in May you can do all kinds of creative things to personalize your Ollie. The fun is just starting for us! Smiles...Kathy
  25. Welcome Dan! Those last 5 years will go by quickly....then you'll be livin' your dream! My hubby & I lurked this board & dreamed for a long time. We will be picking up our Ollie in July....Yippee! Smiles....Kathy
