  1. I have been looking at ways to better stabilize our Oliver aside from the 3 stock stabilizers/jacks. I have the heavy rubber chocks behind/in front of the wheels, X-Chock wheel stabilizers between the wheels, my 3 jacks are down far enough to the point where the trailer wheels just touch the ground, and the jacks are supported on jack blocks to where they only extend maybe 3-4 inches, and still anytime anyone moves inside we feel motion. I know there are options like jack stands and scissors jacks, but yesterday I saw this possible solution on Facebook. Looks like a pretty simple solution and light weight, but will it work on the Ollie? I would imagine for this to work the top of these "wobble stops" would have to push against a vertical support like a rib or beam. My Ollie is in storage and I'm not sure we have vertical supports that run lengthwise underneath the Ollie. Thoughts?
  2. Sounds like you’ve narrowed down the issue to between the panels and charge controller. Is there a fuse between the solar panels and charge controller, or perhaps a solar panel disconnect switch that’s off?
  3. The dehumidify function is only available on the remote. Slide the slider down and press the raindrop button. Make sure the “command” is registered with the AC unit, a blue led light on the street side of the AC should light up…I think twice. The dehumidify function works very well for us.
  4. The Touareg diesel is actually a very capable tow VH, and very underrated by folks who have never owned one or towed with one. I do agree with you 100% about cargo weight, that is definitely the limiting factor for us. For full timing we can probably also say the Ollie is too small, it’s all about making compromises, definitely downsizing and keeping an eye on the cargo capacity.
  5. We also have a 2016 VW Touareg diesel, one of the best VHs we’ve ever owned and it’s a wonderful very capable tow vehicle. We towed a 2016 AS 26U with twin beds for almost 3 years, it towed like a champ (and stopping), only issue is cargo capacity, at 1180lb you have to watch what you pack. We now own a 2023 LEII and fully packed weighs approx. 6000lb with a tongue weight of 610lb. No issues so towing it or stopping. Fuel consumption towing our Ollie from Hohenwald to Guelph ON (Canada) was just shy of 16mpg. The Touareg is a great towing vehicle AND daily driver. Again, the limiting factor is payload/cargo capacity.
  6. Update...…I reached out to Avi, owner of Trailersphere (maker of the Barker jack cover) about the issue of me not being able to order the cover from Canada. He said it could be because it's being shipped directly from him and not Amazon warehouse, and that he would send some inventory to them that will allow purchase from Amazon. That was on Monday, so yesterday I was able to place my order! 😁
  7. @topgun2 I know it’s been a few years since this post, but do you maybe have a link for this mod? I searched the forum but no luck! I also want to blacken out the MaxxAir Fan cover.
  8. Yes very odd, maybe because I'm in Canada!
  9. This thread should help!
  10. I don't know what to say, immediately after getting the email I checked Amazon and it showed "Currently unavailable"
  11. Yah I got the same email but it still shows “Currently unavailable” on Amazon
  12. Haha very true and I feel your pain, I have to sleep with earbuds because of “a” loud snorer…..and it’s not me!😜
  13. Unfortunately you're correct!
  14. Same here! 👍🏻
  15. How did you measure the V at the battery....the BMV shunt? ***Disregard, sorry didn't see @mossemi already posted same question.
  16. Thanks, do you know the location of this new bus bar? As far as I know, there is the positive bus bar under the driver side bed, and the negative bus bar upfront under the rear dinette seat.
  17. @Brian and Brandelyne Brian, did you leave the charge controller “low temperature cut-off” at the default of 41°F (5°C) or did you change it?
  18. You’re a star….thanks!😊
  19. @mountainoliver @NCeagle I absolutely love what you guys did here and want to do same, however, I cannot find this shower faucet mixer/diverter anywhere! Where did you buy it?
  20. Brian, sorry another question about how you wired the smart sense to the batteries. I see you have the positive and negative wires connected to one of the batteries, not to both batteries, ie negative to one battery and positive to the other battery like your leads, will that make a difference?
  21. Mine the positive is fused then connected to the positive busbar under the street side bed, and the negative wire to the negative busbar under the rear dinette seat.
  22. Dave what mud flaps did you get, can you post some pics please?
