2026 YM Oliver awning style windows and other changes
srthomsen replied to Patriot's topic in Ollie Modifications
I like the exterior look. The interior side, especially the valence? Not so much at all. To be honest the limited opening would seriously make me think twice about purchasing the trailer. -
We used to live down in the Coachella Valley in Rancho Mirage for 5+ years and during that time drove through once! We did not own the Oliver at that time. I did however, frequent the park may decades ago while in the Boy Scouts. It is quite surreal in many places and ways.

When did Oliver begin the manufacture of the Legacy Elite ll ?

Remove the ball & ball mount from the receiver and replace them in the receiver upside down. Then use your favorite hammer and let gravity help. -
Why is it 5033#? I thought the standard D52 meant 5200 LBS. Here is a blurry pic of what I was able to capture on my phone yesterday. I do know that the axle itself may be rated at or to one spec but that the actual numbers can be less if, for instance, the D52 5200lbs axle is outfitted with leaf springs that are rated to a lower #
-
I have no idea. The tag on the axle on my trailer is located on the top of the axle tube and I wasn't able to get a decent photo of it. The photo that I did get shows a capacity of 5033 lbs.

A 2023 LE1 owns us also. Number 1403 and it too has a 5033# rated D52 axle with 12" brakes and Never Lube bearings. The main leaves number 5 and there is what I consider a spacer at the bottom that is only the width of the lower spring mounting plate and does not extend in length beyond the width of that lower spring mounting plate. Yes, you are correct; there are not many of us out there.

Ilike that design. The bezel looks good and the slim profile is good too.

We are happy to hear that you were all OK. We were staying a bit away from there in Bandera, in a park bordering the Medina River which also rose quite a bit, but to nowhere near a level that would have threatened us despite the campers in the lower section of the park being relocated to the upper section. It was and remains a very tragic event.
-
I"ll drink (in moderation of course!) to that. I try to utilize the park power when availaable to raise and lower when needed.

I would think that one could source some thin pliable plastic material (or even a thin metal) that could be hand formed to cover the top then project out and down past a point on the lense that would more efficiently direct the light down toward the ground rather than being directed outward. Maybe a 'shield' of sorts that would encompass the entire light and be mounted behind the light could be 3D printed. Just a thought.

Was the dinette topper custom made or were you able to find one with the correct dimensions? -
As far as I can tell, the systems are all maufactured in Germany and / or Italy. I cold not find any information pertaining to a Truma manufacturing facility in the USA. This, if true, certainly could account for some of the lack of availability of components with which to repair the defective heaters. Developed in Germany, produced in Italy: Our Products come from a single mold One of our most important success factors: Within the Truma Group, development and production come from a single source. This means we can optimally coordinate manufacturing and production. The development headquarter is part of our German parent company, located in Putzbrunn, Bavaria. Together, we set new standards with coordinated, continuous improvements in development and manufacturing. This enables us to manufacture high-performance, high-precision products that delight our customers and add the greatest possible value.

I haven't watched any of those videos but I do have a question. you (she) stated that the Ethanol Shield product absorbs water better than Stabil however what was ssid, if anything, what happens to the water that was aborbed? It's still in the tank or storage device.

I do think that he missed a very good point by not mentioning the rigidity of the aluminum frame structure. When I took a tour of the factory while there to pick our Elite up; the frame structure on its jig for layout and welding was one of the top selling features for me. It's a beefy piece of aluminum art.

One of mine fell off in our driveway yesterday. No broken tabs and it's not damaged in any other way. I'm going to try some type of adhesive to see if I can make it 'stick'.

Excellent! Question for you; how did you find the city parks that you did stay at? Were they 'listed' somewhere OR, did you just run an internet search for towns on your route and investigate from there? City halls ??? Chambers of Commerce ??? -
Re the 30# propane tanks vis-a-vis the Elite. The Elite will not carry the 30# tanks in the factory front mounting location. They also are not an option on the Elite
