OlivettiAirstream Conversion Idea... Fresh Coffee anywhere, any time

Recommended Posts

When an Oliver Elite is retired... I am not sure what I will be able to do with ours.  The Oliver may outlive both of us and a lucky buyer can make use of it for another decade or more.  Then they pass it onto someone else.  I like the thought... but an Airstream owner in Cortez, Colorado, retired the trailer, and put it to use. There was a smaller Airstream in the back lot, as well, for staging at Rodeos and Parades.  It was stolen several years ago I heard.  A stolen 'Silver Bean' will be difficult to pass it off with obvious current... modifications.

The sign on the Stolen 'Silver Bean' was great for a 'F350 Silver Bean' opportunity photo.  See it over the cab?  Geez, get with it.

Those without a Sense of Humor are bound to be bored and spend too much time torquing lug nuts.  Anyone with an Oliver Elite having a new purpose?

Been to the Silver Bean many times, got the SS coffee mug to prove it, HA!  Great Joe there, for sure.  This was in '18 while on our annual  "Spine of the Rockies" ride going through Cortez, CO:

You have mighty fine taste Art! 👍🏻 Looks like a custom Sargent seat too. This is my 3rd BMW Adventure over the years. I previously owned an 07 and a 15 YM. At 6’3 the ergos of this bike allow for a really comfy day in the saddle. I recently took delivery of this 24 YM on Mar 1st. I ride where the Buffalo still roam here in the Blue Ridge Mtn and foothills.

Yeah, if I was to buy another Beemer, it would be a K1600 for sure!
Had an '08 R1200 for several years, commuted around Austin with it. I still have an old K-75c for grins, but the only one I will keep is my '84 Goldwing Standard. Not sure how the K1600 truly rides, but this old Goldwing will outlast and be much more comfortable than any BMW 1200 cc or less, jury out on the K1600.

We've had up to 5 Beemers in the stall at one point, D used to ride too.  We had an '06 R1150GS ADV (Alpine white/blue) and '08 650GS Thumper for D.  We still have the '84 R90/6 (highly modified)...

I'm now out of the motorcycle business after some 50 years.

The 1998 R1100GS below was a veteran of over 15 "Daytona Bike Weeks" and some 6 cross country trips.

I'd consider going with a GS anytime!!!  Loved that scooter!

The GS community in the Rockies is extensive and very supportive to members.  We used to hit the rallies and runs all up and down the spine of the Rockies for many years.

Still do so - but now it's on our K-bike, 2-up.  HA!

Yep -

After the first of many cross country trips I just had to do something about the brick that came stock.  The only "problem" with this saddle was when things got a bit racy shifting weight in the saddle simply wasn't all that easy.

I would ride a west-east commute from Lakeway TX to the VA data center in SE Austin (TX-71/US-290). In a car or truck it would take you a full hour+ any morning, more in the evening, but on this beast an easy 35 min! 🤣

Loved that job, the year was 2014. I would ride the bike 2-3 days a week to work, other days in our Passat TDI. Both vehicles got 38+ MPG city.

So, we built a ramp for the R90 to get it into the bed of the "War Wagon" and would routinely take it on camping trips to have a fun mode of transport whilst boon docking with the "'Ol Rivet Smasher"!  Sadly, we can't manage that option anymore with the TUNDRA, but we still have the ramp.  This pic was taken pre-Magnus at Catalina SP near Tucson - D with our sweet "Willa"...  Kinda miss those days, but Magnus and Oscar are making up for it!  HA!

Wish I wasn't such a wuss.  I'd buy one.

Proper training and practice, plus the proper gear combine to make the sport much less "risky".

But that can be said for just about anything.
