We are still getting to know our Oliver now that we have a storage location close to home. We have a couple of questions about the trailer, one specific to the 2017 models and one more general.

Our trailer had solar and AGM's when manufactured and was upgraded to lithium by a previous owner. I've read on the forum that the solar panels should have a disconnect switch but I can't find one. Did the 2017's have them? If so, any idea where they were located?

Our general question is about the screen door. We've noticed that the screen door doesn't completely cover the door opening. The screen door is not centered in the door opening and only overlaps the fuzzy, latch side door weatherstripping by about 1/8 inch. It has rather large gaps at the bottom and at the upper radius curve on the latch side. Has anyone else run into this? If so, do you have a solution?

Thanks for any comments and/or advice.

Tony

Check under the street side bed for that switch - what you're looking for is a large red switch .

Pretty common with these RV doors.

Not sure about 2017 but 2020 did not. I added one when I upgraded my batteries.

Like Bill @topgun2 mentioned, look under streetside bed where you should see the big red Blue Sea switch shown left in the picture. You likely have the same Blue Sky solar controller too.

Our screen door has a 1/4" gap all the way around it, but it does touch the fuzzy edges and seals OK.

Yes,  I have noticed that all the screen doors on the Oliver trailers (many different year models)  do not match the curve in the fiberglass.  This is what I used when going to Alaska to keep the mosquitos out.

It is weather stripping (furry stuff that is on the screen door from factory).    I just put some on the opposite surface where it does not meet.   Worked well and still on the trailer 2 years later.

Thanks for the responses. I've looked under the street side bed/seat and didn't see the big red switch. Don't remember seeing the Blue Sky box either. I'll take a picture of the under seat area next time I'm at the camper but perhaps it wasn't installed.

The screen door is almost worthless as is. It would stop the cicadas flying around now but small bugs would come right in. I had my Four Wheel Camper in British Columbia one time and the mosquitoes were so bad you couldn't stand outside. I killed all the ones that followed me in and 15 minutes later the camper was full again. This cycled a couple times before I discovered the bugs were coming into the camper through the frig. vent. When they're hungry, they'll find any opening and our screen door has lots of openings!

Not sure what I can do but I'll work on it next time I have it at my house.

Thanks,

Tony

@QuestionMark Thanks for the suggestion and product link. Did you stick it to the inside of the screen door or the door jam. Or maybe on the screen door edge. I'll give this a try. Thanks again!

Your trailer will not have a Blue Sky Solar Controller. If you have factory solar, it will have the Zamp system instead.

On the screen door.   I will take a photo of it next time I go out to the trailer.   Also, when in Alaska we asked the locals what was the best way to get ride of the mosquitos once they get into the trailer as they are extremely hard to "get" with all the curved surfaces in our trailers.   Answer we got and we have since proved it works great is "Windex spray bottle on mist.  Knocks them right out of the air and it smells good at the same time".   Also, helps keep the trailer all nice and shiny inside when we wipe it clean.  LOL.

Thanks @jd1923 and @ScubaRx, yes our Oliver has the Zamp. I should have known that from look at the display inside the camper. I'll look for the switch under the seat again next time I go to the camper. We're working on a project at our house for the next two weeks (weather dependent) so it will be after then before I can do much with the camper.
