Casablanca found "akeside Wild", too!

We're at Mouse Tail Landing SP just north of Linden, TN and about 10 miles south of I-40 right on the beautiful TN River:

...all for strength, honor, and freedom!

Travel safe, rally go-ers!

Cheers!

Good Morning from Watsadler COE CG on Lake Hartwell. Site 17 will always be very memorable. A cool 52 breezy degrees here last night which made for a perfect nights sleep. Something special about the lake front camping.
We are early risers and caught this new day beginning. We will depart this beautiful spot shortly and make our to Lake Guntersville SP on roads much less traveled.

And a ""Good "Starlink" Morning"" from Casablanca at Primitive Site # 8 in Mousetail Landing SP along the TN River...  Happy feet enjoying mid-60's temps this AM with a couple Knuckleheads and some Blackbeard's Delight Black Rifle in the mug:

We found an exquisite site on our way to Alabama! Curiosity is gently illuminated by the stars, err, sodium lamps, with the sound of a rushing stream in the background. I mean asphalt. Our 23 day 2024 “Lake Hopping Tour” - It started on the coast of SC and then onto Lake Santee SP for a few days. We left Santee SP and booked a lake front site on Lake Hartwell in Gawwwga. After enjoying a few nights at Lake Hartwell we motored over to Lake Guntersville and really enjoyed a great time at the Rally. Time seemed to go by so quickly. It was so good to see old friends and make quite a few new friends.
We hope everyone got home or to their next destination CG safely.
Cheers from Blueberry Hill! 🫐

My bride & amazing navigator. We enjoyed a nice campfire just about every night.

  • 2 weeks later...

I recently spent 12 days boondocking in the Kaibab NF, near Marble Canyon, overlooking the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. FS 611 (Forest Service Road) is a combination of washboard, loose rock over sand, and some pits, but slow and steady got me there — about 5 miles up FS611 there are a few dispersed camping sites that are spectacular.

63 degrees here at home on Blueberry Hill and chilling out back. A perfect evening for a warm fire and some down time to plot and plan our next trip with XPLOR. The mountains are calling.

Should your plans include traveling anywhere near the Continental Divide - let's compare schedules, it would be cool to link up.

We're headed to "Soldiers Stone" near Saguache, CO in August, FYI...  very cool location.

Safe travels!

Art,

That sounds like a nice area. We totally loved our month in CO last year. If we head out west again this summer we’ll surely touch base. We need to get through our blueberry picking season and then we’ll be traveling again. A real pleasure meeting you and D at the rally.
Thanks for the heads up!

Sadly, I'll not be going that far south - I'm staying in Wyoming again this year (mainly around the Cody area).

Have fun though - the mountains are always a great place to be.

@topgun2 - FYI, We'll be in Cody in September, but on the annual bike ride...  Hitting SD, MT, WY, NE, and CO - about 3,500 miles worth of the Great Plains and the Rockies!

Shame I'll miss ya.

By the third week of September I'll be at the North Carolina beach soaking up some of the last rays of summer sun and enjoying the nice warm ocean waters.  As much as I'd love to be fishing hoppers during September in the Rockies, I simply have not found a way of being in two places at the same time.🤔
