  1. If there is something that any of you think will make the Forum more user friendly, just PM me. I always have a lot of work to do for all the Oliver companies and cannot stay on the Forums much, but if there is any kind of issues I can take time to fix them. I have installed a script that will automatically open external links in a new tab, so there is no need to do anything. Hope this helps.

  2. I can assure you the owners wouldn't find these issues acceptable. I will be passing the info on. Thanks for bringing it to our attention.

  3. Roberth, thanks for the info. I think many of us will find it helpful. John, the team, and especially Matt, work hard to make the site accessible and as quick as possible. Fixes can take time, with the proliferation of devices,os,and browsers. Seems like some one os or browser gets short shrift with every forum in which I participate. As you well know, a fix for most can actually slow others. Sorry if that has happened to you. This one moves faster than I can work on my tablet, lol. Our hope here for all concerned is to provide a congenial free exchange of ideas on our favorite topic here, Oliver travel trailers. For all of you, if you have an issue, please feel free to pm one of the mods. We thank all of you for great ideas and thoughtful contributions. Any forum is a work in progress, and in its new form, this one especially. Thanks for all your patience, everyone, as we move forward. Sherry

  4. We purchased a new Ollie tow vehicle today, 2016 SR5 Tundra. Really like this truck and can't wait to start towing our Oliver Elite II around the lower 48 with this Truck. This Tundra has bucket seats, rear camera, center console, 38 gallon fuel tank, spray -in bed liner, and all weather mats. Will post about towing the Ollie with the Tundra in the towing section. Here's a few photos on the way home from the dealership today:

  5. Hello, Just a heads up to everyone that places links in your posts. Right now most people link and it actually takes you away from the site. Until they enable advanced linking I will show you some basics in order to make a link to a item or another site that will open in a new window/tab so that you dont leave the site and have to hit back and what not. This example will be a link to google notice how it takes you away from the page. https://www.google.com Below is a example of opening in a different window so you never leave the forum. Trust me your readers will appreciate this. https://www.google.com If you click the link button and add your link then then click the Text button and place this bit of code in at the end of the url code it opens in a new window. Look at the below example and the little bit of code you need to add is highlighted in yellow. Now the bonus is if we can get the folks from Oliver to enable advanced link editing for posts it makes it a lot easier. At that point you simply click insert link then click the gear icon and paste your link in and select open in new window. Hope this helps everyone out! Feel free to reply if you have questions or want to use this topic as a spot to test your hand at it.

  6. [attachment file=37680] Bill: The 2016 Toyota Tundra truck is an excellent tow vehicle for the Oliver Elite II Travel Trailer. Our Tundra is a 2016 Crew Cab Limited 4x4 and it does an excellent job. Good luck with you new Tundra.

  7. Mike, Thanks! While driving the Tundra home yesterday, thinking about how the Tundra would look towing the Ollie, thought about your nice looking RAM (true story), how it would look with the Ollie too! :)

  8. Bill, great looking truck! For us it was down to a Tundra SR5 very similar to what you have and the Ram 1500 with all the same features. I wanted to go Toyota with my local dealer especially having purchased 2 trucks from them already. It came down to price and trade in with a difference of over $5K! The Ram won. Enjoy that Tundra - it will look great with your Ollie! Mike

  10. Bill Congratulations !! You made a wise choice. I have a 2003 Tundra I purchased new and it has pulled my Ollie from the east coast to the west coast. You will have more than enough power to pull your Ollie anywhere you want to go. I am envious Coy

  11. For me a Hand dolly would not fit the bill. Its not that they dont make one powerful enough because Im sure they do its because when parking mine I have to move over a crest of a hill of sorts. If the hand dolly didnt have a plug in capable of using the trailer breaks things could get ugly fast. I built a attachment for my Kubota B3300. I move my trailers around with it because it makes quick work of it. For those of us that have some land and a use for a tractor it just makes sense to use the tractor as it can move the trailer much easier that my 23ft truck. That being said anything with a short wheel base could potentially work. You might be able to use something like a hitch helper to hold the weight of the trailer and use something smaller to push it around like a 4x4 quad in low gear but I would want to be all level ground when using it for sure. http://www.mrtrailer.com/hellya.htm Hardrock the above item might even help you out to keep some of the extra weight off the front end of your truck. I would say just be extra careful. On my Toyhauler it weighed enough that when moving it with my Kubota tractor it would push me around a bit so I would recommend taking that into consideration for sure.

  12. When I was recently at the Oliver facility, I saw a battery operated trailer mover. I asked about it and was amazed the cost, rather expensive. It has extra large wheels. I was also told they were not real well pleased with the performance. I was especilly interested because I am terrible at backing into a tight space. I will pay extra for a pull thru campsite. I have a 90'long driveway, downhill, with two turns and put my Ollie into my man cave garage. I do all of this very easily with my front mounted trailer hitch. I can both push and pull the TT, turn it extremely easy in an accurate path and get it through a 10 X 10 garage door. The only downside is there is a lot of weight on the front (truck drops several inches when the TT is lowered onto the front hitch) thus when turning, it leaves black marks on my driveway. Recently while camping in Savannah Georgia, I had to park in a back in campsite. I unhitched, turned my truck around, and pushed it in. There were large overhanging trees and a few turns. I was able to easily maneuver it in. I can see clearly on the drivers/TT door side, no problems. On the passenger side, I only had to turn the truck a small amount to see on that side. I have a rear view camera on the back of the TT but did not use it. I stacked two bricks I found near by to mark my final stop and maneuvered to the brick. My wife watched for the overhanging branches and gave me a few course corrections and we got it in perfectly. Below are shots of my driveway from street curb to garage, my garage where the TT rests, and of my front trailer hitch. My simple solution for tight spaces, turns and a mentally impaired back in driver is a front hitch. It is always on my TV and works great. Coy
