Well, we're now joining the chorus of all those singing the praises of the Oliver Service Department folks!! We dropped our Ollie off at the Mother Ship a few weeks ago for some minor warranty issues and a few other service items. At first, I thought we might be getting into a dogfight w/one of the component companies regarding a warranty matter. Of course, Jason stepped in and, suffice it to say, went ABOVE AND BEYOND the call of duty, and completely resolved the issue to our satisfaction. For all the Ollie owners out there, I know I'm preaching to the choir, but thought I should echo what many have previously said, and to publicly express our deepest appreciation for the all the great work that Jason, Ritchie, and the entire Service Department do. They truly are ROCK STARS in the customer service business!! Looking forward to meeting lots of new people at our first Rally next week!3 points

After pulling our trailer for maybe a couple thousand miles I found a little play in the bearings so I tightened the nut holding the hub on per Dexter’s instructions. See bottom of page 56 in the Dexter Axle Manual in the Oliver University. http://olivertraveltrailers.com/wp-content/uploads/oliver-university/Component_Manuals/Dexter_Axle/DEXTER-AXLE-MANUAL.pdf3 points

Exterior solar plug pictures: This is a very nice and compact 20 Amp exterior plug. It has solder connections to gold (I think) terminals. Comes with screws, gasket and chain. I posted a link to it in an earlier post. The male end fits a #12 exterior extension cord and has a strain relief nut. The plug has a twist-lock design and will not fall out. It also keeps the connection dry while plugged in. https://www.amazon.com/CNLINKO-Industrial-Connector-Receptacles-Waterproof/dp/B0795464LP/ref=pd_ybh_a_26?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=9EBPJGFS22DYCSBDBBGV1 point

If you really need reinforcement of how good the Oliver Service department is and the Overall Oliver Travel Trailer Company is then a quick read of the unfortunate situation that a new Airstream "Nest" finds himself in will only serve to galvanize your beliefs in the Oliver. http://www.fiberglassrv.com/forums/f55/airstream-nest-quality-88974.html Bill1 point

100 percent agree! Standard operating procedure for these folks. I have never not experienced their above and beyond work and ability. They just finished a two month long really in-depth trouble shooting session with my fridge as described elsewhere under the General Discussion heading. Thanks again guys!!1 point

The wheel weights are unusual, I don’t recall anyone reporting that the factory does this. Their being out of balance anyway is disturbing. You should alert the factory about this. The bearing nuts are supposed to have a very slight amount of play when cold, they are NOT torqued down hard. Tighten them down firmly, then back off until they are free and go to the nearest cotter pin slot. When the wheels are operating and the bearings are warm most of the play should go away. With a brand new set of bearings they might seat a little during travel and get a little too loose. They should be readjusted if needed. Unfortunately with an Ollie the little domed dust cap is covered by the chrome axle cover, so you have to pull the wheel off. I am thinking about eliminating the chrome parts so I could adjust the nut quickly. I have never kept these pretty covers on other trailers, I want to be able to service the nuts without a hassle, and inspect them so I know the caps are secure and not leaking.. If I ever get around to installing disc brakes I will buy stainless hubs, so they will look SUPER cool without plastic covers and they won’t rust...... John Davies Spokane WA1 point

Hello, cmdmom2 - It looks like the Trailer Valet 5k version mounts on the side similar to the XL Mounting bracket for the XL version. If you have a picture or could describe how you attached this to the Oliver, that would be great. I discussed the XL bracket with Jason Essary at Oliver and we didn't think their was room to attach the bracket would attach. It sounds like you found room? Trailer Valet told me one of the main reasons they came out with the bracket was to solve contact issues with the bulldog/other couplers... https://trailervalet.com/shop/xl-mount-bracket/ Thank you Ken for the note on the parkit 360, certainly helpful! We are getting an Elite II as well, so the bigger one would be mandatory. Thank you John. My mind had not gotten to an ATV, truthfully it would have taken me a while to get there :). From that video, crazy maneuverable looks right, very cool. Storage/maintenance are my first thoughts but I will certainly look into it. I am out traveling for work, but hopefully I have attached a photo of the front of our house from a few weeks ago. My goal, and hope is to be able to back the Oliver up the driveway. Then use a valet/dolly/ATV to pull it into the camperport, and then push it out when we are leaving. My brother and I are a bit further along with construction than this picture shows, standing seam metal roof is going on Saturday. Thank you all for your comments on this subject. As you can see, construction is well underway, so I need to make it work. We just got our hull number today...485...sounds great! Thank you, Travis1 point
