Oliver Legacy Elite II to be picked up September 20th
ShallowGal replied to tcandlc's topic in Introduce Yourself
Hi Tom & Linda & congratulations! Since your travel plans are fluid after you pick up your Ollie, there is a micro-rally in Jacksonville in October. Here's the link to the discussion on the forum: http://olivertraveltrailers.com/topic/oct-2018-micro-rally-jacksonville/ Hope to see you there! Chris -
Hi Ken & Judy! Congratulations! We look forward to meeting you in Jacksonville. We'll be in site O21 & have two silly doodles. Chris & Duke

Ken, are you happy with the Westinghouse generator? Duke was reading a glowing review earlier today & the $600 price is quite alluring. Thanks, Chris

John, did you use these to connect to the harnesses? They are adjustable & limit the amount of space they can move around. [attachment file=Screenshot_20180625-221906_Amazon Shopping.jpg]

Maddie and Baxter insisted I point out that GM trucks don't have A/C vents in the backseat. (At least 2017s didn't.) A deal breaker for our fluffy buddies. ;)

Beautiful! A dream trailer for sure. This cutaway graphic showing the skulling boat inside the trailer has me wondering if you could rig two tension rods (if you can get them long enough) between the floor & ceiling to use as a brace for bicycles.

@Rodger & all you adventurous AARP members, you are awesome! Great advice from all of you; here are my 2 cents to help you convince Rodger to get moving! Duke & I got married in 1995. At that time our retirement dreams were pretty far apart, & far down the road, but the common denominator was we knew we wanted to travel. (He wanted to convert an old school bus & have a tree farm in Georgia. I didn’t.) Anyway, fast forward, we are now getting all our ducks in a row to make that leap to retirement &, at the end of the year, start long term traveling in our Ollie However, to get to where we are today, the best & scariest picture painted for me was this: Get out your tape measure & extend it to 80 inches. Go head, do it. Now, point to your age in inches. That looooong distance between the beginning of the tape and your age is the life you have already lived. Now look at the distance between your age & 80 inches. THAT is approximately the life you have left to live, maybe. Duke is 68 & I am 60 & it scares the hell out of me that we MIGHT have twelve years to enjoy our retirement together. Most of our parents were depression babies. They worked hard, lived frugally, saved their money, lost their health, and then died. They did not get to enjoy the retirement they worked so hard for. I refuse to let that happen to us.

Duke took a photo of the bow mounted bike rack. It was an entry in the modification contest at the Rally. I'm sorry I don't have more information. Again, hopefully, someone who does will give us the details.

DavidS, that's good stuff & explained very well! Thank you!

Someone at the Rally had built one for the front of their trailer that was very nice. I'm sorry I don't remember who but hopefully someone will chime in who does. Bill? Jason? Foy?

ALASKA! Share your experiences & dreams
ShallowGal replied to ShallowGal's topic in Campgrounds & Parks
I, for one, sure want to hear & learn all about yours & anyone else's trip to the 49th state! Last year, after Duke & I made the decision to buy an Oliver, I started reading and watching videos (thank you Reed & Karen) to learn about the RV life. One YouTube subscription I look forward to is KYD - Keep Your Daydream. The reason I mention it here is they are currently traveling to Alaska and will begin posting videos about their trip this Sunday. (6-17-18) https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCEhJLsShZt8McryMf_DHLZQ/featured These are exceptionally well done videos - beautiful scenery, almost professional quality editing, fun-loving & funny family &, most importantly, informative. Even Duke enjoys watching them. Their past seasons have been about the Eastern US, Mexico, NW US & Canada, & SW US. Scattered in-between are videos about their rig, storage, how to get along with your spouse, boondocking fail, mods to their tow vehicle, & so on. http://www.keepyourdaydream.com/ Enjoy! Chris -

Resolving Three Issues with Ollie Window Shades
ShallowGal replied to Spike's topic in Ollie Modifications
Has anyone had trouble with your pleats not folding properly when opening the privacy section? While in storage, I've left them open hoping that the heat will help them "remember" what they're supposed to do. I'll find out tomorrow if it worked.- 35 replies

Electronic Keypad w/Dead Batteries
ShallowGal replied to BorninPalatka's topic in General Discussion
LOL! Once upon a time my car battery was dead & I panicked for a second or two (okay, maybe ten) because my keyless entry didn't work. -
ORDERING IS CLOSED for Cutting Boards and Shower Mats
ShallowGal replied to Foy_Mirna's topic in Ollie Modifications
Showing off my new cutting board. It's stunning & if it were a little bit bigger, I could use it at home too! Thank you Foy. Your craftsmanship is exceptional! -

Kitchen drawers. - keeping closed
ShallowGal replied to Mainiac's topic in Mechanical & Technical Tips
Mike and Krunch recently posted his fix for the drawer problem, but I'm unable to find it. What I like about their system is it uses suction cups and spring-loaded curtain rods and does not require drilling into the fiberglass. -
Awning Parts available (free to a good home)
ShallowGal replied to wdw0528's topic in Mechanical & Technical Tips
We found the clip on the carefree site. It's only $6 plus shipping. That appears to be the best route since it is riveted & removing it wouldn't be practical. Your arms would be best for someone who needs the entire thing - and I am sure there is an Ollie owner out there who will need them. (Hopefully, it won't be us!) Thank you for your foresight & kindness. You are what makes this community so special. Chris -

Awning Parts available (free to a good home)
ShallowGal replied to wdw0528's topic in Mechanical & Technical Tips
Oh my goodness, this is amazing! Duke & I were just discussing the need to replace the orange plastic clip on one of the braces & I popped onto the Oliver site to see if I could find out the awning specs. Is it possible you have what we need? Fingers crossed. Thank you no matter the outcome! Chris -
Oh my word, that is adorable!
