XPLOR is in the Lake Side Wild! After spending a few days at Santee Lake SP in SC and yesterday we touched down at Watsadler COE CG on Lake Hartwell. I think we landed a really beautiful spot. Itโs so nice to see all these lakes brimming full! After a have to have a campfire ๐ฅ, and a little nectar of the Gods, we really enjoyed a great nights sleep with a cool breeze flowing through XPLOR at 65d with no need for AC. Note: all the sites here are really nice and with my lifetime America the beautiful pass we paid $32 a night with one night free. Thatโs a win! ๐ So on to lake hopping across 3 states to the rally. Our next stop will be Lake Guntersville! Safe Travels All! Cheers! The solo loblolly pine in the center of this photo caused us to pause briefly and think about the โAppeal to Heaven flagโ. A signal of strength, resilience, justice, liberty, and a moral compass and relying on the higher power of God. Onward! Patriot๐บ๐ธ

Elite 2 Rooftop Reflective Canopy or Tarp
Patriot replied to NomadLife's topic in General Discussion
@NomadLife You are wise to protect your roof top. The sunโs UVs are really rough on the Olivers gelcoat, plastic panels and caulk. Maybe consider a covered commercial storage location? Welcome to the forum! -
8 gorgeous days at Huntington Beach SP for beach fun and great seafood! The north CG sites are large and quite private, the way a CG should be. Our second time camping here and we give this SP ๐๐๐๐๐. Now we are at Lake Santee SP making our way slowly lake jumping ๐๐ to Watsadler COE CG on Lake Hartwell in the morning. Then to LGSP on Saturday. Looking forward to seeing everyone at the rally! Safe Travels!

@Badger I recently sold my used cargo box and purchased the Sea biscuit custom locking cargo container and am very happy with it. If I were looking to add a cargo box I would seriously consider this option. Itโs more money but you do get a lot more dry lockable storage and itโs very well made. David Hess the owner of Sea biscuit and his team craft fine products built to custom fit to Olivers right in Tenn and they ship. There are other much less expensive cargo box options as well. If you opt to order from Sea biscuit you will need the Ubolts and plates from Oliver to secure the box. Mike Sharpe at Oliver Service can sell and ship you what you need. We store ALL of our immediate go to set up gear in this box with room to spare. It leaves plenty of extra room in our TV bed. David & Kristine Hess will be at the rally if you plan on attending. We are very happy with our cargo box! Cheers Happy Camping! https://seabiscuitmetaldesigns.com/product/oliver-box/

Yes, we always use ours. We just make it an instinctive habit.

Bent front tongue jack repair steps
Patriot replied to Galway Girl's topic in Mechanical & Technical Tips
Craig, Sorry this happened. It could easily have happen to any of us. Posting this is a really a great reminder to all of us. Glad the damage was minimal and the good folks at Oliver Service got you back on the road. Safe Travels! -
It is nothing short of chilling how ancient, how outdated and how insecure our national grid is. After 3 1/2 decades serving in the government I wish I could elaborate more. Upon retiring I signed nondisclosures. If only the general public really knew the truth. Our national grid needs to be upgraded in so many ways.

My thoughts when I see a cyber truck - the design was hijacked, looted, swiped, plundered or made off with from the inventor of the dumpster. ๐ Just not a fan.

I will chime in. The Dexter 5200# never lube axles that Oliver retro fit on our Ollie last Oct, are only the larger 12โ drums. To my knowledge I donโt believe they are installing disc brakes. Service just grabs a set of Never Lubes from the plant and installs them at the service center.

Sounds good Jason. Thanks for the heads up! -
Kathlyn - Welcome to the forum! To answer your originally post. We have not met anyone living full time in an Elite 1. As long as you are comfortable in a smaller trailer I bet you will do just fine. Personally we would not choose to full time in our larger LEll for many reasons, itโs not for us. That said, we certainly could if we had to we had to. Enjoy you Elite 1! Happy and Safe Travels!

Flat Tire Preparation, Especially for Elite I Owners
Patriot replied to Ron and Phyllis's topic in Towing an Oliver
@Ron and PhyllisFirst glad that it all worked out safely for you. And itโs always a good idea to check your spare periodically for correct air pressure IF you donโt use a TPMS sensor on the spare. As a part of our go to gear we always carry a floor jack, a tire temporary plug kit and we also have a portable compressor on board. (link) Not an advocate of running a plugged tire, but it will at least get you to a repair shop in a pinch. Safe Travels and hope to see you at the rally! https://www.amazon.com/40047-400P-RV-Automatic-Portable-Compressor/dp/B004B68XGC/ref=sr_1_4?crid=2CXF2TAPW4C19&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.Eys-V0OIft8RXPo9KyhLYMtEzTC1gVkd12IQ8QX0XsWgXT4wr-aQ3UNywG3dZFL50DToSh3Wv0fob50yoNsmRcRcgHxwz-S78KIlhwHb4OurfKZ4F-OX6GE_l_t2Ba2Wm9JIf2X1wjtHcrSxXsdwRvI16QVHnK_hFafbhZh2ZL1BsmgAMTdvek0kOlCLCHBwPe_wNBjfFxmqyyLDMtbvJSqrRbyR2UA2dkC8wSKrKlA.YXfRIKzFhg2jMU9BN2Pr1w-HMX_z-NSR68nn8Ji7Nuk&dib_tag=se&keywords=rv+air+compressor&qid=1714030907&sprefix=Rv+air+%2Caps%2C118&sr=8-4 -

You bet Ron, we all get by with a little help from our friends. I kept my appt this morning with DCT and still had all my tires balanced and rotated and stems switched from rubber to S/S. I think itโs the best path forward. ๐๐ป

For a little bit further clarification: I called and spoke with Customer Service rep Maria at the TST Office in Cumming, Ga. (770) 889-9102. I asked her if rubber valve stems can be used with the 507 TPMS bottle cap style sensors? She said yes. She went on to say, that an application requiring flow through sensors, it would require metal valve stems. To their knowledge nothing has changed in the install instructions with regard to use of rubber stems with the bottle cap signal sender. Safe Travels!

Blue water line leak; how to repair
Patriot replied to Gliddenwoods's topic in Mechanical & Technical Tips
@Gliddenwoods Along with the push to connect or shark bite fittings you will need a pex cutter as well. $8 at HF. You can also pushase 4โ lengths of 1/2โ blue and red pex at HD or Lowes. I always carry a few spares of pex (link) for quick emergency repairs of our Ollie or to help someone else out. cutters- https://www.harborfreight.com/finger-release-ratcheting-pvc-pipe-cutter-62588.html Lowes - https://www.lowes.com/pd/SharkBite-1-2-in-x-5-ft-PEX-Pipe/1000386513 Lowes - https://www.lowes.com/pd/SharkBite-Max-1-2-in-Push-to-Connect-Coupling/5014120315 Fittings - -
