Weigh Safe 180 Aluminum hitch with 3” shank, 10” drop

Field use follow up. After towing our OLE2 I can report that the hitch 3” hitch clamp worked exactly as designed. The 3” shank while inserted into the 3” receiver is completely silent while under way. Win! It’s recommended to periodically check the clamp fasteners which I did. They stayed tight the entire trip. I opted to add a short piece of plastic tubing to insulate the bottom of the clamp from metal on metal chaffing the bottom of my receiver. (Pic) It took a little while to get this tubing to cooperate while sliding it on to the clamp. I warmed the tubing up in hot water which made it a little easier. I am satisfied with the outcome. -

Passing forward this info for Truma Aventa owners- Please do not turn this into a Truma bashing thread. I have been thinking about having a soft start installed on our Truma Aventa. I contacted Truma this morning and was informed the install of their soft start has to be handled at one of their two service centers. Just wanted to mention this if anyone is considering the Truma SS install. Oliver Service also confirmed presently that they cannot order or install the SS from Truma. Email from Truma this morning. Hello David, The aftermarket installation of our soft starts is not currently approved for dealers or RV manufacturers at this time. If you are wanting a soft start installed on your Aventa, it would need to be scheduled with Shelley at either our Lakeland, FL or Elkhart, IN location. There is a slight risk of the drilled holes and new bolts supporting the weight of the marine board &inverter resulting in “spider webbing” the exterior gel coat. Hopefully with all the bouncing around running down the road or super slab with your Oliver in tow this does not occur. The glue failed on my inverter board shortly after we took delivery in 2020. I contacted service and they recommended using a strong adhesive and not drilling through gel coat to secure the inverter marine board. So I cleaned both surfaces and reglued the marine board back on with no issues since. Service did not recommend drilling through the gel coat. The adhesive on the marine board spreads the weight out across the back of the board vs just the bolts. Hopefully long term you won’t have any issues with your gel coat cracking or spiderwebbing where the bolts are. 👍🏻

We carry the Honda 3200 and it will run our Truma fine. It does require a grounding plug which I leave attached to the gen. If you have the Truma soft start installed, you can run the 3200 in echo mode for better fuel efficiency. -
Mark, If it’s within your budget, and you travel and camp enough to justify the cost, I would highly recommend considering a Starlink Mini. A 💯 game changer for sure. Not ever thinking about CG WiFi or unsecure cell phone hot spots is no longer in our travel plan. Having a secure means to send email and txts or just surf the net for destinations along the way, or pay our energy or light bill back home is worth it to us. Our MINI It also serves as a home back up should we ever loose internet. Streaming TV is here to stay and with tech racing forward at light speed it’s only getting better. I learned at the 2026 Oliver Rally we may see a dedicated internal wiring/SL plug in the 26 YM. All the mini needs is a dedicated outlet to plug into and your on!

I used small 3” round pieces of XPEL PPF to seal the (8) cowl/shroud screw openings on the Truma. This hack works great and will not leak. The PPF can easily be removed if access is needed. Welcome to the forum! Ask away with any questions we can help with. I initially began towing with a Platinum 5.7 Tundra 4x4 crew cab. A really solid and reliable truck. Soon after we sold the Tundra and purchased a 1 ton Super Duty due to it having a much higher cargo capacity. I think our Tundra had like 1460 lbs of cargo capacity which was not going to work for us. We are very happy with our present TV! Enjoy your Oliver! Patriot 🇺🇸

We have never had an issue with water running off on our roof from the either of the (2) condensate cups in the unit. We had our “Demonic” Penguin removed and retro fit with the Truma Aventa in May of 2023. At the time of the retrofit, I spoke to the tech doing the install about over flow on the roof possibly occurring. He said that its really important to have the trailer dead level when your set up and running the Truma. The condensate cups are not very deep and can fill quickly, and the drain tube handles this under normal operation. ✅ I learned that it’s really important that the (2) Truma condensate tubes do not have a kink in them. This will result in the cup(s) not draining properly into the OEM condensate drain lines. I think this may have possibly been an install concern early on. This would cause the condensate cup(s) to over flow onto the roof. The tech mentioned that he would make sure that the tube would be installed kink free. It works as designed and I have never had condensate water dripping off my roof. I am not suggesting that anyone here is not setting up their trailer dead level. But in order for the 2 small condensate cups to drain properly this is how it’s designed. If you are set up dead level and you still see water dripping off your roof, you may have a kink in one of the condensate drain hoses or maybe it’s just plugged up.

I was informed by an HD associate that if you are in the actual store and naturally want the 20% discount, order and pay for it on your phone. Then go to customer service with the product in hand, then show your on line receipt and you’re good to go. I learned this lesson today. 🤷♂️
