I won’t be running our Truma off a 2200i as I don’t own one. Most importantly it’s not recommended for the Truma. So why bother taking a chance and having an issue? I doubt the Truma warranty dept would come to anyone’s rescue. Maybe I am missing something here? Patriot🇺🇸

Inverter Generator Trivia - Warning - Nerdy Engineering Post
Patriot replied to Frank C's topic in General Discussion
I suppose any of the above will make do. Oliver Service highly recommends a minimum of a 3000 watt inverter gen. And now with those that choose the optional quieter new Truma Aventa a 3000 watt generator is required if you want to run the AC. I am partial to Honda gens as they have always served me very well. My 02 cents worth. 😊 Patriot🇺🇸 -
I presently collaborating with a family owned steel fabrication company in developing a “puck lock” security tray for the new Honda EU3200i. The design is very similar to the Honda 2200i. A bit if rough draft work measuring and many photos of the new 3200i. It’s a bit larger than the 2200i with a different bottom where the rubber feet are located. The numbers and design are now in the CAD stage. It will be crafted from 10 gauge metal and powder coated black. This will allow the me to lock the gen down in the Oliver cargo basket during travel covered of course. And the option to actually run it in the cargo basket. I am hoping to have the first copy in a few weeks so I can conduct a fit and finish test on the our 3200i. My measurements have been redacted until final development. I was hoping to have this Rally ready and installed however the timing is not working out. We are headed off to Oliver soon, so it will be after the rally before I can post up a few pics. A link to the Apple Air Tag hack. A how to disable the AT speaker.
-
Looks like I will be washing our new Truma filter's. Thanks for posting. Patriot🇺🇸

Here is an interesting video which gives a pretty straight forward way to disable the speaker on an Apple Air Tag. Removal of the speaker eliminates the continuous audible chirp after 72 hrs. Removal of the speaker will not allow a bad actor to hear the chirp, then find and disable the AT by removing the battery after he/she locates it. For example an AT hidden in a car under the seat or in the trunk. Or in a piece expensive camping equipment say a portable generator or even an Oliver TT. The bad actor will eventually figure out there is an AT on the stolen item tracking them if they have an iPhone. Without the speaker chirping it will be more just a bit a lot more difficult to find. A common misconception - the map location is not the location of the air tag, it’s the map location for your truck or campers air tag that would have been the location of the persons phone who parked or walked or drove by close enough for their phone to hear the air tags broadcast. Yes Oliver now drills awning brackets to mitigate the pooling and facilitate drainage. They drilled ours with what I measure as a 7/16 hole and here is a pic- -

I just tilt the Oliver nose up a little and just use a strong nozzle water hose and honestly just about everything washes out after a few rinses. A battery blower would work as long as the leaves are dry. Most dry debris flys off the roof when under way. My little HF battery powered blower. A great little toy, I mean tool. The broom is retired as this travels well and is fairly quiet. Just go buy one. -

From an observation stand point of watching how water flows when washing our Oliver, I would not recommend installing the EZ gutter above the awning seal. I honestly do not think you would be happy with this mod post install. If you install the bulb seal properly and it adheres well you should not have any side streaking. Also consider drilling your awning brackets to keep water from puddling. This made a huge difference after Oliver drilled ours out. My other thought on installing the gutter guard it will be a very tedious job to remove if you are not happy with it. Naturally debris falls from trees or leaves or pine needles dropping. I try to not park under pine trees or weeping trees when possible. We wash our Ollie regularly and as much as I don’t enjoy climbing ladders I try and keep this area clean and waxed. Patriot🇺🇸 -
@MobileJoy A quick google search - You could try ordering these. I would check your model numbers in any info you have for filters prior to ordering. Also shop around you may find a set for less dollars 💵 cabbage. here- https://www.rvonline.com.au/products/truma-filter-set-aventa Yikes this vendor seems to high. https://apollorvparts.com/products/truma-aventa-filter-set-pair Patriot🇺🇸

Maybe give a quick call to Mike Sharpe at Oliver Service, I feel sure he could assist you with ordering replacements. Or where you can order them? I don’t think Oliver stocks filters from the new Truma, great question! Patriot🇺🇸

If you contact Mike Sharpe or Jason Essary at Oliver Service they could assist you with providing a recommended RV Service Center in your area. Oliver in the past has been selective on what service centers they recommend to perform work on Olivers. For any fiberglass work I would highly recommend Oliver - just MHO. Please consider listing your Oliver Hull# and tow vehicle in your signature area IF you own an Oliver. As members we can assist you better with questions on maintenance or other questions. Welcome and Thanks! Patriot🇺🇸

What else could go wrong? 😅 Adapt and over come is the flavor of the day! Always try and have a back up plan. One is none and two is one! “Whatever can go wrong, will go wrong” into something that only YOU can do something about. You did well! Patriot🇺🇸 -
Noted..I will follow suit. Thank you for the reminder.👍🏻

We had our bulb seal replaced by Oliver under warranty as it was not sealed to the roof properly. Oliver dropped the seal down a bit and drilled holes in the awning mounting brackets to allow water to drain quickly instead of puddle between the brackets. Now it works as it should. It does require up keep and periodic cleaning. Trade offs for sure. Patriot🇺🇸 -
I ordered a set of (4) AT’s from Amazon and I too am interested on how well the AT will track a vehicle or a camper etc. We’ll be leaving our Oliver at Oliver Service for a few days next week having the Truma Aventa AC installed. I will leave an AT in the Oliver to get an idea of how well it tracks it location. I am also going to place an AT inside our new Honda 3200i run it for awhile and see if it will hold up under the heat of the internal engine compartment. Apple says ATs will operate up to 140 degrees. We’ll see its survives or cooks. I will report back my findings in the next several weeks. Patriot🇺🇸

I saw that and like it but wondered if it could be modified to work with the Honda eu3200i? I am thinking it’s a no go given the specs. Maybe they will come out with one for the 3200i. I may reach out to the manufacture. Honda 2200i specs - 20.0" x 11.4" x 16.7" Honda 3200i specs - 22.5”x 12.0”x 17.8” Patriot🇺🇸

A concern I had with the use of Air Tags is would heat from running the gen have an impact on the AT performance? It appears Air Tags are ok from -4 up to 140 degree mark. Naturally you would not want the AT secured and hidden around the much hotter exhaust end of the gen. Air Tags are not considered anti-theft, merely a tracking device if an item should grow legs 🏃🏽. I don’t see us leaving our Ollie without our gen secured and out of sight. On the other hand, at $30 per AT with no monitoring fee this seems like a reasonable way to track items of high theft value. There is an easy hack to disable the (speaker) pinging feature of the AT so that the thief will not hear the ping. This audible pinging sound starts after 72 hr window has closed after the tracked item has gone missing. Even Mr. Magnus woof 🐕 as @MAX Burner mentioned. 😄 https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0932QJ2JZ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0BZHLR988/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1 https://support.apple.com/kb/SP840?locale=en_US Patriot🇺🇸
