Truma Aventa owners, cowling counter sunk fastener holes
Patriot replied to Patriot's topic in Mechanical & Technical Tips
It will be interesting to see what Truma does to correct this design flaw if anything. Yours being brand new should be clean as a can be.👍🏻 -
Truma Aventa owners- a mod! I learned from Oliver Service that the Truma Aventa has a design flaw where the (8) fasteners that hold the AC cowling/shroud in place will hold water when it rains. This could result in a leak if the cowling screws are torqued too tight and the plastic cracks. Oliver has made Truma aware of this concern and has also taken steps to preempt water intrusion issues with the counter sunk screw holes by adding a self leveling sealer to each counter sunk fastener hole in the cowling. (See in pics) All new Olivers with Truma Aventa AC units have this self leveling sealer installed at the plant. Today I opted to take sealing these counter sunk fasteners to the next level with some 8 mil XPEL paint protection. I cut 8 small circles of the XPEL PPF and simply covered each of the 8 fastener holes. It took longer to trace and hand cut the 8 small circles from my PPF than to do the install. This PPF can easily be removed for access to the screws and then removal of AC cowling. The PPF will completely prevent any water intrusion issues even if the self leveling sealer should fail. I also covered the Truma side decals in PPF to prevent weathering or peeling over time. The PPF also has a UV protection which should also help keep the sealer from degrading under normal full sun light. This XPEL PPF is very tough material. We have had it installed on our cars, trucks and even 10 mil sheets installed on the front of our Ollie with excellent protection results. Mod On!!⚡️ Patriot🇺🇸 A few pics - These pieces were cut from scraps of 8 mil XPEL I had in my shop. Once installed they disappear. IMG_8826.mov

New Honda eu3200i Security Mount now available
Patriot replied to Patriot's topic in General Discussion
@SeaDawgGreat question and TBD..😊 a work in progress. Where do put your fuel container when running your gen? Hopefully sooner than later I am actually planning to install the www.hutchmountain.com new 3200i LP conversion kit. That will take gas out of the picture. I am on the waiting list we’ll see. If not I may attach this mount lock onto the non exhaust side of the cargo basket to at least lock the roto pax down when running the gen. I guess if someone wants the gas bad enough they will just siphon it. here- https://www.amazon.com/RotopaX-RX-LOX-PM-Pack-Mount-Lock/dp/B008S9QRH0/ref=sr_1_4?hvadid=636053578030&hvdev=c&hvlocphy=9009915&hvnetw=g&hvqmt=e&hvrand=12750849366801851103&hvtargid=kwd-59998714017&hydadcr=7467_13278794&keywords=rotopax+mounts&qid=1685500874&sr=8-4&ufe=app_do%3Aamzn1.fos.006c50ae-5d4c-4777-9bc0-4513d670b6bc -
New Honda eu3200i Security Mount now available
Patriot replied to Patriot's topic in General Discussion
After installing my Honda 3200i generator security basket in the Oliver cargo tray. I decided to get a little creative and add a 3 gal rotopax spare fuel container. (Not a fan of gas fumes in our truck bed under the camper topper). I made sure to leave 5.5” of width between the rear cargo tray and the gen during the security install to accommodate the 5” wide roto pax. This allowed the 5” wide rotopax to fit comfortably in this space. You can just barely see the rotopax in the full front photo. Now I am waiting on the custom heavy duty gen cover I ordered for the 3200i to finish this mod. ⚡️Power On!⚡️ Happy Camping! A video dem of the 3200i running in the security basket from last Thursday. IMG_8731.mov -

Wayfinder, Propane Wing Nut Mod. The forum search window is your friend. Here you go - Patriot🇺🇸 -
Touch light replacement just completed over the dinette. It’s important to note that the TL’s I have replaced have all been working fine. I do hope Oliver finds a higher quality touch light. These are cheesey at best. Hopefully they will last. Loosen the light cap by turning and remove it. Drill out the existing rivets, cut the white and black wire as close as you can to the old light. This will leave you plenty of wire to connect your replacement. Connect the new TL wires by braiding the wire ends to each respective color. I used electrical tape and heat shrink tubing for the finish. Tuck the extra wire back into the wire opening in the hull ceiling. Install the light base with new rivets and attached the light cap. When using these touch them gently. Don’t ask me how I know. 😎 Let there be light! Patriot🇺🇸 Pics- New light with heat shrink tubing. If for some reason you need rivets you can purchase these at Ace HW. They work fine.

@chiwald Please post your Hull # and TV information in your signature block, it really helps members on here assist you with a solution.😊 Thanks! Patriot🇺🇸 -
I actually learned that it’s not a rumor. Oliver is moving away from touch lights in the 2024 Ollies and likely beyond. The light will be a little smaller than the present light and from what I also learned won’t allow a retro fit into earlier models. Patriot🇺🇸

@Ollie-Haus Great find! I just happen to be replacing a touch light over the dinette. So I took a photo of it. Thanks for posting the Amazon link as they look petty identical. Probably the same company in China just a different supplier. I purchased (3) spares on our recent trip to Oliver. I hope this replacement lasts! This is the third touch light I have replaced. 😏 Oliver TL Amazons version -

has anyone tried the new Dometic fresh jet 2200?
Patriot replied to Roadlotus's topic in Ollie Modifications
@SeaDawg Here is a little closer photo of the new fiberglass foundation that the Truma Aventa requires given it has a much different foot print than the Dometic. I learned Oliver will no longer allow Truma Service to retro fit Truma Aventa AC’s. Long story short, Truma Service attempted to do the “free” Truma retro fit on an Oliver and the trailer ended up back at Oliver Service for major and very expensive fiberglass repair work. Another reason we wanted our Truma installed only by Oliver. The entire fiberglass foundation you see supporting the base of the Truma is all new. Look closely and you will see 3 tiny weep holes. They are simply there to allow any moisture out of this interior sloped area of the roof. Patriot🇺🇸
