While having the Truma retrofit done which usually takes two days, we opted to book a two night stay at Meriwether’s Retreat Bed and Breakfast. This is without question one of the best B&B’s we have ever stayed at. Miss Melissa the owner is an amazing sweet gal catered to our every need and then some. The homemade breakfast Quiche, fruit, granola and all the personal touches that she provided were top shelf! Our stay was excellent. We wanted to pass on this awesome place to stay if your going to need accommodations while your Ollie is being taken care of! Patriot🇺🇸

@Katjo A beautiful Ollie interior and zero criticism here as you certainly have a talent and tasteful eye for jazzing up your Oliver! Don’t let ANYONE on here steal your joy with critical comments. 😏 Thank you for sharing! Great work!! Patriot🇺🇸

Eric, Reach out to Oliver Sales and they will locate an owner in your area and arrange a visit. Most owners are more than happy to show you their Oliver. As for towing you will receive a variety of many different opinions. Only you can decide what comfort level and safety level you are happy with. Consider safety in stopping distance, cargo capacity, and and long range driving comfort that 3/4 or 1 ton trucks have to offer. There is no comparison in our experience. We initially pulled our Ollie with a half ton and quickly realized we were splitting hairs on cargo and tongue weights with our gear and Ollie ready to camp. So for us the half ton was just not going to work. Best of luck with your choice! Patriot🇺🇸

An Oliver Rally!

💯 agree with all the above.

Haha! yes to all the above! The temp here right now is perfect. We can see why it stays pretty booked.

@Tom and Doreen My 2020 rear bumper is rated for 150 lbs according to the warning sticker Oliver placed on the bumper. Are the 2023’s only rated for less than 100 lbs? I am interested to know if this has changed. Patriot🇺🇸

Ollie in the Wild! After a very successful service visit and Truma retrofit/install we left the Oliver Mothership and are now camped at Monte Sano SP near Huntsville, Ala. It’s a reeeeally nice SP and we highly recommend it! Nice large sites with full HP. Only 55 miles from the LGSP Oliver Rally. A nice place to chill until we head out to the Rally. Even a little Bluegrass music under the Pavilion this evening. Happy Camping! Patriot🇺🇸

Let’s hope so. Oliver has addressed this with Truma. It may take a number of end user complaints to Truma get Truma to move forward. Time will tell.

A beautiful rig and a very happy new OLE2 owner! Congrats!! Patriot🇺🇸

Steve, We are really considering a National Luna twin and are hoping to see yours at the rally if you’re open to showing it to us. Our TV is 12v ready and would just like to get a visual on the size. Would you be willing to let us take a look at your NL90? This NL is on our radar -https://www.equipt1.com/products/50l-legacy-fridge-freezer?ref=yotpo_93 Patriot🇺🇸

Oliver Travel Trailer Service Truma retrofit install

I wanted the ES left in in the Penguin. The buyer of my Penguin wanted it as part of the sale as he has a small genset. Oliver removes the ES along with the Penguin during the retro fit. Patriot🇺🇸 -
Oliver Travel Trailer Service Truma retrofit install

@MobileJoy That is not the OEM Dometic digital thermostat you see in the photo. I made a suggestion in April to Oliver to consider using this Honeywell furnace only digital thermostat in the below link. It was approved by their electrical engineers and is now an option when having the Truma retrofit done. Otherwise you will get the Dometic mechanical thermostat. So no Oliver is not using the original dual control thermostat. I much prefer the look, fit, and finish of the digital Tstat below. This ended up being particularly helpful to me as I presold our Dometic Penguin prior to the retrofit being completed. I needed the original thermostat to sell with the Penguin. here- https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00H6ARNXO?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details Patriot🇺🇸 -
@SeaDawgWe were advised by Jason Essary that the Truma factory warranty is 2 years. Oliver submits this warranty information the day the install is complete and the customer takes delivery. As @MobileJoymentioned it’s highly recommended by Oliver and Truma that new replacement filters are installed every 12 months. Also pointed out during our visit with service, Oliver and Truma do not recommend an easy start on the Truma. Installing one voids the 2 year warranty. Patriot🇺🇸

John, We just had our Truma installed and the (6) screws that are counter sunk holding the Truma cowling onto the unit is a design flaw which Oliver has addressed with Truma. These counter sunk holes will collect water which could result in a leak. The fix- Per Oliver service these counter sunk holes are now filled with a sealant by Oliver to preempt water intrusion. All new Olivers and retrofits get this sealant. This sealant is not permanent and can be removed to access the fasteners. Unfortunately, I don’t recall the name of the sealant. I will try and ask Oliver Service staff the name of the sealant they are using tomorrow. We are still at Camp Oliver giving our newly installed Truma a two day shake down before departing. Will this sealant require regular visual inspection and maintenance? My guess is like any other sealant yes. Patriot🇺🇸

@Brian and Brandelyne As promised, I did check the air flow and the air flow is equal on both sides. Patriot🇺🇸

I believe it’s a Virginian Tiger Moth. Maybe hitching a ride to the Rally! 😄

Using a generator solely for charging the Ollie batteries
Patriot replied to HDRider's topic in Ollie Boondocking
Based on years of trouble free experience with Honda generators, motorcycles, and mowers, I trust Honda products. -
@johnwen Thank you for posting up your issue with the condensate tubes. We just arrived at Camp Oliver for the Truma retrofit tomorrow, Tues and Wed. I will hopefully get a little time to talk with Jason in the morning making sure to preempt this issue from occurring. We plan on giving the new Truma a really good shakedown next Wednesday afternoon and evening before leaving Camp Oliver Thursday morning. We’ll also be at the Rally for 8 days and if we have any issues we’ll just return to Oliver and get it addressed. Look forward to meeting you John. Go Air Force! Patriot🇺🇸
