Love the shoes, Overland. And, thanks for the music. This one's not "brand new." From Norway's supergroup, Keiino, a mix of European, joiking, and rap. In Sami. Even if you don't love the song (which I do), you'll probably enjoy the scenery. The scenes filmed on Slogen (around 5,000 ft.) required a 7 hour hike, carrying gear, and an overnight stay in a cabin.

Thanks. We still like to use my 2005 Silverado occasionally.

We just picked up our trailer from Suncoast Designers in Hudson. The three side windows that we had removed, repaired, and replaced look very nice. Everything is tidy and clean. They aren't far off US 19. Big, big lot. Lots of high end coaches parked getting windows repaired. Some camping during the repairs, in their free campsites. We were the only travel trailer I saw in either visit. Followup with Maria in customer service was excellent. Cost for three windows, with tax and shop supplies, was about $1000. They include a lifetime warranty (for the owner, not transferable) against future fogging issues. I would recommend them.

Since the vinegar (very mild acid) solution helped, you may want to try the Starbrite cleaner next. It's also mildly acidic, but stronger than vinegar. I wouldn't use a combination wax and polish til I got rid of the black streaks. You'd just be sealing anything left behind with more wax. Anything beyond soap and water or vinegar, I'd try in a small area first, and rinse well when done.

Yes. You need to know the RAL number for your trailer. I know the white on our 2008 is different than newer trailers, as Oliver had to order it for us especially when we had some repairs done. Just for future reference, it might be something to ask now, and add it to your documentation for future reference. Years down the road, the white may change slightly, too, from uv. So, even then, custom may just be "very close." I will say, I can't find the repaired spots in ours, and they were done 9 or 10 years down the road.

I was at fiberglass coatings in St. Petersburg today. They do custom gelcoat match, minimum one quart. They would need the RAL (color) number from Oliver to custom match.

Great little 3 step stool for accessing your TV roof
SeaDawg replied to John E Davies's topic in Mechanical & Technical Tips
Great idea. We carry a little Rubbermaid folding stool, that allows my short stature to reach into the truck bed. I gave up on standing on the tire some time ago, except in emergencies. Your ladder gives a lot more height/reach. -
Sounds like typical reality TV. Keep the crisis suspense going. What else can go wrong??? Thanks for the info, though. I'll have to watch it, for the scenery. Paul's dreamed about renting a 4 wheel drive van and camping in Patagonia for years. It's on his bucket list. Camp on the ice in Antarctica, camp around Patagonia, visit Easter Island, and on to home.

And, the follow-up interview. CanAm has built a business of creating proper hitches for all kinds of vehicles. Just be aware, this is Canada, not the US. But, this is very interesting, at least, to me. I've said it before, and, I'll say it again. I'm looking forward to the day that we can worry about how to charge our ev tv from solar, boondocking. Instead of how to run ac. It will happen. Probably, but maybe not, on my lifetime, but it will happen. At least for now, I can charge a local ride on solar. Who knows what the future will bring?

So, rainy day at home, surfing youtubes. Check out a Model 3, pulling a 27 foot airstream. Impressive. Will it go far? No. Does it go well. Yes.

You'll get there, Dewdev. Like I said before, mildest first. Once you get the stains off, and get some coats of good wax on, your Ollie will be shiny and bright. If you have to go beyond vinegar, or vinegar solutions, with microfiber scrubbing, starbrite cleaner is probably the next mildest step. Like vinegar, it's mildly acidic, so should work well if the problem is alkaline hard water. Keep us posted .

Well, that explains why we couldn't find it. I'm so surprised that a highly rated product would be discontinued. But, a lot of people do prefer liquid for ease of application. We'll continue with the Collinite.

Just go camping! Winter comes soon enough.... imo

Awesome work, @Pat Maundrell. And, I've read that those are, indeed, awesome chairs. Congratulations on making the perfect fit for them.

Requesting Ideas - Camping NE of Hohenwald
SeaDawg replied to connor77's topic in Campgrounds & Parks
Anderson Rd. campground looks like it's pretty close to the airport, and fairly close to a lot of interesting spots: the new Opryland (25 minutes?), Gaylord hotel (awesome gardens, indoor, and amazing Christmas decorations from November on), and, of course, the reservoir. There used to be a restaurant not far away (Darfon's) with excellent food, if you don't want to venture into the city. Traffic can be problematic on that section of the freeway closeby from 4 to 6 or 7. But, it's still not far from the fun in downtown Nashville, which we love. Wander from bar to bar, and enjoy music of all types. It's a wonderful town. Lots of parking for a truck in downtown lots, just a few blocks from the fun. -
It's raining here. Watching the swirling winds. At least it's filling the cistern. We're nice and dry on the deck, undercover. From my childhood. I hear this song in my head, when it rains.

No worries. You're not hogging the thread.

There are a number of threads on waxes. It will be hard to pick. We've used 3m ultraMarine for many years. With supply issues We've changed over to Collinite marine. It's a little tougher to apply, but great protection, and a high per centage of real carnuba. Btw, search doesn't work on three letter words. Try waxing, instead of wax, if you'd like to read more posts (til your eyes glaze over....)

Can anyone recommend a small portable inexpensive TV antenna.
SeaDawg replied to Imelda's topic in General Discussion
That's a great resource, @Jim_Oker I used a similar one setting up my mom's antenna in Missouri, years ago. At least you know how many channels to expect, with the best. God bless your uncle, the tree climber. -
Since everyone is talking about (older) Tacoma, I thought you might like to watch this video, comparing the Tacoma and a Ford Ranger in a challenge. (Read the comments if you have time. Some good info here.) The guys used a 5,000 lb true weight utility trailer, so more than the Elite, but less than a II. BUT, a lot of squared off frontal area on the utility trailer. Do you have a Ranger? I test drove one in 2019, and really liked it as an around town, sometimes tow vehicle. Some great features, lots of payload for a midsized, (depending on features), and 7500 lbs tow rating. Very comfortable cab and seats. I don't know about a II, but I think it could be fine for many Elite owners. Especially if they were mostly flatlanders. flatlands. You don’t have time to watch the whole thing, slide on over to the 14 minute mark. That's the Ranger part of the test, and the comparison is at the end.

I really like the idea of the old camera tripod. -
I've been thinking about your trailer while I was lubing and repairing cushion zippers, and cleaning the blinds I removed from the trailer last week. We should probably start at the beginning. Is your water very hard? Do you use soft water to wash and rinse the trailer? Which soap? I think beginning of season, you may have to wash the trailer more than once. After waxing, you're going to want a more neutral soap that doesn't remove wax, but my guess is you don't have much wax on yours. You may want to use a tougher soap, like turtlewax (NOT the combo wax and cleaner, pure soap.) This stuff can be hard on wax, but you're going to do two coats of a really good wax when you're done, anyway. I like the yellow microfiber cloths from Costco and Restaurant Depot. They're cheap, and they really do a good job at removing dirt and bugs. It's really best if you can rinse with softened water. Good luck. A photo of the spots you're talking about could perhaps draw better suggestions. The general rule is to use the mildest products you can to achieve the desired results. Even 3m polish is a mild abrasive, but it may be needed to get the dirt out. Once you're on top of the maintenance and waxing, you'll find all the stains come off more easily.

If vinegar doesn't work, give one of the marine cleaners a shot. Like the one Patriot posted. Or, a lot of people like Starbrite products. Here's a review article from a long time ago, practical sailor. https://www.practical-sailor.com/boat-maintenance/practical-sailor-tests-22-hull-cleaners-on-scummy-brown-waterline-stains-to-find-the-best-remedy-to-the-icw-mustache If these don't work, as Topgun said, you may need a polish, not a full blown rubbing compound. 3m makes a very good one, that's very fine, and doesn't remove a lot of surface.
