Unfortunately I have owned the Yamaha since 2020 so my only recourse would be to sell it and by the Honda. I might do that if I end up using the generator more in the future. John

I did install the easy start on mine, however, my Yamaha 2200 has issues starting the AC when it is in eco mode. Normal mode works fine. John

Did a quick 2 nighter and was able to do some testing. I had a full sun day just southwest of Atlanta and using the truck bed, portable setup and the Oliver panels I was able to pull in 5.82KWh over the whole day. I lost sun due to trees at around 5PM so I could probably hit 7KWh in the clear. At the peak the total network power on the Victron showed about 822 watts. With the Houghton running I was only showing a 222 watt deficit but since the air cycles the batteries would catch back up. Over all I am pretty satisfied. John

Yeah, I went through different configurations and panel sizes in order to make that happen. I didn't want the panels to hang over the back in case a stray rock flew up while underway but it could only go so far forward to allow fully opening the cover. In the morning and afternoon that angle can take the truck array from around 230 watts to 290 watts. Every little bit helps.😬 John

I put this setup together to augment the one I built for my trucked cover. I can connect all the panels in series/parallel for a total of 940 watts. (including the ollie roof panels) These are BougeRV 100 watt 9bb panels. Much cheaper than the portable offerings from Zamp. Hopefully I will be close to net zero while running the Houghton AC in full sun.

Great...more government trying to "do what's best for us". Laws like this are conjured up by some dips**t politician pandering for donations to keep themselves in office. Macro changes occur when something better comes along. We aren't using a horse and buggy on a large scale anymore because cars are better for transportation. You don't drive across the country for a business meeting, you fly. My wife has a Telsa and it is a great car for how she uses it. As you said though it wouldn't work for pulling a trailer full of hay out in a field. The other problem is cost. You can't force Joe six pack to spend a years pay on a car, but I'm sure the state has a plan.🙄 John

Calling all easy start experts. So I received the Houghton and here is what I have found under the hood. So the red wire comes from the start position on the compressor and goes to the run capacitor. There are no other wires on that terminal so I will connect the orange wire to the same terminal with the red wire. The other terminal has 2 white wires. I will check continuity to determine which wire comes from the Run terminal on the compressor and disconnect that wire from the capacitor. I will then splice the white wire that I just disconnected to the brown wire from the easy start. Since this compressor is under 3 tons I will connect the white wire from the easy start to the same terminal that I removed the white wire that I connected to the brown wire from the easy start. The brown wire from the control board goes to the overload protection device on the compressor and then is jumped to the C terminal on the compressor. So will I need to splice the black wire into the brown wire somewhere before overprotection device. What is the best technique to do that? I was thinking of using a 3 way wago connector. I appreciate all the knowledge here. I don't want to fry my new AC unit. 🤑 John

Well I ordered a 13.5 BTU Houghton today. I am planning on installing the easy start that came with the trailer. So I might have some questions on that in the future. I’ll post my experience when I get it and get it installed. Anyone sold their used Dometic unit? What did you get for it? Mine is only 7 months old with very little use. I guess I’ll start trolling Craigslist and eBay. John

The Recpro website has decibel rating for both the bigger one is actually a little quieter. There is a $400 price difference. Not sure how much I would use the heat pump portion of the system. So is the houghton 3400 still the quietest most efficient replacement that we know of for a DIY project? I have one in my cart on the recpro site but wanted to make sure that everyone is still happy with their installs and performace of the units. Has anyone done the 9.5 btu unit on an elite 2? John

I would delete the app and reinstall it. When you scan the code make sure you cover up the bar code and only scan the QR code. The ones I bought from summit did the same things until I took these steps. Also if you choose offline check you you can scan all the codes at once and then hit validate all codes. Works a little faster that way. John

I would start by charging the batteries until they go into float. While charging you will see voltage go up to around 14.5 then start to drop back down to round 13.5. Once you are in float mode I would give the cells a chance to balance. You will see a status code on the Lithionics app if the battery cells are balancing. Then apply a load to the system like a small space heater. Allow this to run while periodic checking the SOC for each battery. They should be relatively close. You can allow the batteries to drop down to their Low voltage cutoff which is controlled by the BMS. You might have to check the inverter settings before doing this since the inverter also has a setting that will stop discharging the batteries at a preset voltage. If I remember correctly mine was set higher than the BMS setting. Also be aware that the batteries will not all shut off at once so you have to make sure the load you are using doesn’t stress the system when you get down to one battery. John

I installed a Victron 100/30 solar charge controller in the Oliver and connected it to the zamp outlet to test the truck bed solar. The panels on the truck bed are wired in series so it is only around 5 amps which allows for using cheap 12 gauge landscape wire. Panels were flat until around 2 pm when I raised them up. The truck was facing southwest and I am located just south of Atlanta. Total yield for the day from just the truck panels was 1.77 KWH. This will be plenty to run the iceco fridge and add additional power to the Oliver batteries.

Looks like they fixed that issue on my 2021.

I would advise calling a couple days before making the trip to pick up your Oliver. When we arrived to pick up hull 887 we were apparently double booked and our trailer was still sitting on the side of the facility unwashed with no graphics on it. Our delivery experience was less than stellar considering we are paying a premium price for a premium product. While growing pains and the whole Covid debacle could understandably affect things I felt that our delivery experience was an afterthought. YMMV... John

The Girard awnings have the same type of seal. I removed mine today. It left some residue behind that I removed with an auto trim removal tool.

Yes. It will support up to 6 tires. I just need to buy a another sensor. One more thing on the todo list.... John
