  1. Curious if the new “wet cell” option might be a sealed battery with agm technology. This could be a possibility…I’ll know in a month. Hopefully they won’t toss in the old style that’s been sitting in their warehouse (I don’t mind flooded but I’d rather not get units that have been sitting for years).
  2. Probably the same battery that @Mike D. posted awhile back. However, these could have changed to a newer version that are sealed for 2022. @Ralph Mawyer I think you will find if the straps are removed the plastic cover on half of the battery will lift off providing access to the 6 cells.
  3. No direct knowledge but according to the description via this link they might be using AGM construction…
  4. For those interested in a DB cover don’t forget to check the Outlet to see if they have any models that fit your truck.
  5. They would be crazy to offer them on the ‘22’s, they need to hold back some features to offset the price increase. A few months ago I predicted the the used trailer upgrade price would be around 3k. Now my guess is just south of $4k. I’ve shifted my attention to the Houghton 9500 to install myself for the (my projected) $3k savings.
  6. We take delivery in a month and it’ll probably be late summer before I have the time to do a lot of the modifications. I’ll probably end up doing most of the work myself unless my local shop can work me in. I haven’t purchased the dc/dc charger yet but I’d like to stay with one manufacturer and everything so far has been Victron. Thanks for the advice so far, looking forward to a fun summer of camping!
  7. I’m impressed that you could return over 13mpg with the engine holding 3.5-4k rpm’s! Thanks for the detailed report, could you provide the payload capacity shown on your door jam sticker?
  8. My plan is to run 4 gauge to just in front of the propane tanks with an Anderson connector. That line will connect directly to blue sea battery selector switch. Position one will connect to the battery bank (fuse protected) to allow 12v power outside the trailer (winch, fridge, compressor) and to connect to a 12v to 12v charger pulling from the truck alternator. Position two will connect to a Victron solar controller for portable panels. I’ll make a 50 extension with smaller gauge wires (Anderson plug at both ends) that can be used to find sunlight.
  9. It’s funny that you mention that. Oliver did away with the flooded cell solar option and made the agm upgrade more expensive. Looking at the two lithium options…the 630, because it is uniquely able to fit that much capacity in the battery compartment, is more appealing than ever. Add that to the fridge always pulling power and I could see myself upgrading to 630 for 2023 units. I’m planning on 3 BB batteries this fall. If I had a two way fridge I’d probably want more…
  10. I really think Oliver could use the next 6 months to make the transition to a new solar controller and inverter/charger. Combine that with a large 7 inch screen that interfaces everything…would be a HUGE upgrade that would cost them very little. This would help future sales IMO and would be a far superior setup.
  11. It’s an upgrade package along with the truma tankless WH.
  12. I’m a little surprised they don’t have the 3 way fridge as an option on the ‘23 units. Must be they’re going with the larger unit that is not available in that configuration. IMO this makes solar and a good size lithium bank critical for those that do not want to worry about power usage on a daily basis. For us I think the 3 way will be advantageous during our state park stays that are all heavily shaded and do not allow generator usage. Keeping the food cold will allow longer relaxing vacations for us.
  13. It’ll be interesting to see the build sheets for the 2023 models. It looks like they are combining the truma tankless water heater and AC unit. Also they might be changing the 3k inverter unit. Hopefully a blue unit can fill the void…
  14. Makes me wonder if the E2 will be updated in 2024…
  15. I think there will be some sad customers that remained on the fence for the new model year. The past two years have been doozies for inflation related price increases.
  16. The Nordic Tug series has always been a favorite of mine. Also like the Corsair Tri for a sporty sailboat.
  17. Since you already own the car I would drive it to the nearest weigh station loaded up with everything you would normally camp with and a full tank of gas. My guess is your available payload remaining will be a lot lower than you think. IMO you are asking a lot of a vehicle that is more oriented towards off road driving vs hauling heavy loads long distances. However, as long as you’re a few lbs under the legal limit that should put your mind as ease. Here is an example of a truck company that tricks the owners into thinking they have 1600 lbs of payload. You need to find this sticker, it will look very similar…
  18. So the empty weight of the truck is 4.5k lbs? Regular cab? What brand/model are you looking at?
  19. We have a diamondback cover as well. Current plan is to permanently mount 4 - 24 inch long 8020 black anodized sections to the four corners. This will be the foundation for multiple different rack systems which I’ll probably build out of the cheaper non coated 8020. For a solar setup I have 3 100w 20x40inch panels that I’ll connect on the long side making a 60x40 array reinforced with angle aluminum. This array will be suspended from 8020 crossmembers mounted to the above mounts. Hopefully, I’ll have time to put everything together in a few weeks.
  20. You will find some very helpful people on this forum. Some may come from backgrounds where they need extreme attention to detail and problem solving skills in order to keep their customers happy and alive. Use this time to act like a sponge and pull in as much helpful information as possible.
  21. Anderson - WD hitch that works well with the Oliver. Bulldog - Coupler that is currently installed on the trailer. You can upgrade both components to work with 2 5/16. You will end up with a more desirable result if you go with just a ball hitch or use the anderson system you received with the trailer.
  22. With a diesel you need to get the weight off the front wheels not add it back. If you want to use a 2 1/2 inch fixed ball mount you’ll probably need a 2 inch ball with a 1 1/4 shaft like this .
  23. Probably the only fair way to do this is to have the production line change over when the 2023’s are being built. How would a September delivery buyer feel if the October deliveries had a bonus included or available? IMO the AC could help sales on the ‘23 models even with a predicted bump in base pricing. At the same time Oliver could offer a new ‘22 buyer the upgrade option that would be installed at the service center. The upgrade might be double the price of a factory assembly line upgrade but many would pay it.
  24. You might want to purchase your used tow vehicle soon after you put your deposit down. Put 5-10k on it to get used to how it rides, blind spots, and take care of any squawks it might have before you hook up to the Oliver.
  25. You can set the inverter/charger to limit the incoming shore/genset amp draw when charging. I’m also pretty sure the lithium batteries that Oliver uses have built-in protection for charging outside the temperature range.
