  1. Pancho Villa SP... Saturday 10FEB24: Headed to Old Mexico later this morning....
  2. Our security includes: The hitch lock, not the BS or the pizza oven... The wheel boot (makes it more difficult for them to drag it up on a flatbed - this one is our's on our friend's AS... Cheers, from Columbus NM - entering into Old Mexico after breakfast for some "shopping"... OBTW: A squadron of quail running by Casa Blanca as viewed by the forward dinette seat... Cheers, amigos! A & D
  3. Layer 8: ... a well placed 220gr .45ACP round where it belongs
  4. That would be interesting to know the back story, @topgun2... In the decades we've been camping, the only theft we've experienced was perpetrated by bears and, believe it or not, monkeys - that wasn't a funny story, however!
  5. Your solar charge controller should handle that charging profile for you. Depending on the type of controller you have, MPPTs probably use a better AGM charging profile than the PWM type controller. Either way, the controllers should be configured to their specific AGM setting. We had AGMs in our previous camper and used a Blue Sky MPPT solar charge controller wired with 10AWG wires from the controller to the battery bank. Our solar modules would provide enough energy for a 13.6vDC bulk charge to the bank on a good sunny day then drop to a about 13.2v for a float charge after 13.6v was reached. But all charging profiles and systems are not the same... Suggest you contact the battery manufacturer and inform them of the type of controller you have and ask them for their recommendation.
  6. Great post, @dewdev! Thanks for sharing - we've got this mod listed on our spreadsheet as a priority... I'll be calling Ryder this morning! Thanks again!
  7. This is an interesting topic. Good article, as well. Many thanks for sharing with the group, @Patriot... FYI, We've been with USAA for over 45 years - and started carrying Roadside Assistance Coverage soon after our son was born in '88 when a pop-up tent trailer was added to the stable. Never claimed a "RAC" incident until after many years and 4 RV's later when, in the middle of the Oklahoma Panhandle, we loose the alternator and the TV (a Suburban) is a roadside DOA. We had Verizon cells phones at the time, with a marginal signal, called USAA and they had a tow truck to us in less than an hour from a local town. Rigged up the "Sub" on the truck, and pulled it and the AS back to a Chevy dealer in nearby Guymon, OK. I'm certain there's similar experiences among OTT Owners out there - but, although a "claim", our premiums were not affected. Whether covered as a rider with your primary insurance carrier or from a secondary standalone RAC provider, we think it's worth it. We're glad we had it back then and we still have it today... My $0.02
  8. He'll be sorely missed by many, many, many....
  9. Concur 100% with the crowd allergy! That's one of the really cool aspects about Q - one can b'dock after a 5 min drive from the big white tents and be alone on a LTVA and completely enjoy the winter conditions of the Sonoran and lose that allergy...
  10. I'm thinking a 4" Valterra vent between the forward dinette seat through the bathroom bulkhead near the toilet would be just as efficient, IMO.
  11. Nice looking set up JD!
  12. Thanks for giving us the idea! 😎
  13. Hey, Gerry; Congrats on finding a new rig that meets your style of camping/adventuring! Everyone's style of RV'ing is different, for sure. It will be good to hear about what you've learned with your new rig in the challenging single-digit camping environment. Who knows, sharing those experiences with these forums may help Oliver owners also! Keep in touch and stay safe down the road... Best, A & D

    Leak

Don't discount the fact that one or more of the rear LED could be the culprit - and the water is passing along between the hulls to the Oliver sign cut away area. Just think'n... In either case, could be a good time to pop out the LEDs and the Oliver sign and re-seal the whole kit-'n-kabootle. Cheers!
  15. ...getting in late on this: Here you go - thanks! TOYOTA Tundra SR5 2022 2WD GAS 3.4L twin-turbo V6 3.31 AirLift Suspension LEII 226 Crew MAX/5.5' bed 10-Speed 1,400# payload 8,300# Tow Cap.
  16. OMG! We totally love that movie! Thanks for posting, @Wandering Sagebrush!!! D's enjoying a sunrise soak next to the "Big River"...:
  17. @Mark and Lorraine Nice set-up, brother! FYI: We just converted our SL to a dedicated "OTT 12vDC system" from their original 120vAC router - in fact, this message is being shot out ATM with the "new" config. You'll love it when you get to use it in a few weeks on travel - for us, because D's working from "home", SL has been a total game changer. Enjoy yours! Here's our mast config and ethernet wire connection - on this, quick 1-nighter, trip we're using the flagpole at the lowest height setting (6-foot) just to get Dishy off the ground: Cheers! A & D
  18. Just checking in.... Casablanca on the road, yet again... Cheers!
  19. ...just some random snaps of the knuckleheads: It's exhausting traveling so much with dad... Magnus spotting a couple Olivers out in the Sonoran Desert... More to come down the road... Cheers, All!
  20. The Plexiglas insert on the lower panel of the screen door has proven a success... The two knuckleheads take turns sniffing through the screen door... HA! Great traveling buddies they are!
  21. Headed out to one of our favs for a short 1-nighter. It's a very cool hot springs resort about 2.5hrs south of our place that accommodates up to 6 RVs. We've been visiting Riverbend with our various campers for over 10 years. It's a cold and windy day here and perfect for this type of OTT "little getaway" adventure... Pix to follow... Cheers
  22. I'm liking the re-purposing of the bike water bottle racks! SMART! 😎
  23. After routing wires and an Ethernet cable under the vanity into the closet for the Starlink system, it was time to finish up the “Cubby Mod”. Used some available 3/16” plywood from another project to fashion a shelf and bulkhead to help organize storage. Rattle-canned a white enamel coating and - poof! One and done: Added 2 extra layers of insulation while in there. Cheers!
