Active-controls soft start for generator use

@SeaDawg: YES! 100%... The microwave (which we really never use anyway) will not operate when the Dometic A/C unit is running off the EU2000i. The ground bonding plug was the key to making this a game-changer for us! -
We really like the StarLink mount you've placed on the leading forward section of the street-side awning... Very clean, nicely done!

No way, @Shawna and Scott: You can't fool us! Those are Santa's reindeer looking for the North Pole = in fact, that looks remarkably like, "Blitzen"!

Awesome snap, brother! Enjoy the fiberglass squadron of campers out there! "RAVEL-ON!" Regardless... Cheers, from Marina del Ray... -

We used an edging material (available from Amazon that "edges" the doghouse exposed fiberglass edge and the spare tire cover edge) on the bed frame lip and around the edges of the upper cabinets - no more bloody fingers after making the beds or grabbing the plates stored in the overhead! Cheers! "Ravel-ON!" regardless... -

We used to freeze duck and chicken in half-gallon milk cartons back in the day - perfect for stacking frozen in the freezer; saves space! -

Boondocking? A 35-50 gallon trackbed badder is a must, IMO... Water is the new GOLD, especially boondocking. -
AMEN! to that, brother! "Tire Blow-out on the Road" - been there, done that, but didn't get the T-shirt for it. But did get another set of 5 tires after that drill!

So... we recently bought the bonding ground plug for our well used Honda EU2000 genset so we can run our Dometic Penguin --- all good, when needed. The game changer in the ActiveStart SoftStarter upgrade is definitely the energy consumption analysis feature of the app, IMO. Those that have the Victron energy monitoring system get an even better energy analysis because of the GUI feature of that unit... but at a higher cost, right? However, $485 for the ActiveStart unit buys us a ton of cold ones... just say'n. -
Brake drum temps mystery
MAX Burner replied to Steph and Dud B's topic in Mechanical & Technical Tips
We both definitely like the more "See Through" Sendel wheels and the nicely painted drums w/o the Ollie hubcap - much cleaner look. We're actually considering the "Centramatics" modification.... -

Blinds
MAX Burner replied to Mary Rutherford's topic in How to Join and Use Oliver Travel Trailer Forums
FYI: We bought 20 clips for Casablanca from Ryder Cogdill at the OTT Parts team... We replaced them all and now have several extras in my spares kit. They're running about $2/clip as I recall... Bottom line: Prior to buying new clips --- we had at least one blind fall after a routine towing run, you can carefully spread the clips, but we actually broke a couple doing that. With new clips installed and 2k+ miles later - no fallen blinds, (knocking on wood). -

Happy 4th to ALL! (We're doing ribs on the Big Green Egg this afternoon, too!) Cheers!

Our previous SOB TT had a TPMS with sensors that required shipping back to the factory for battery replacement (2003 vintage). Not a cheap date!. After going through that drill a couple times, we opted for a new style TPMS that comes with its own battery replacement tool kit, spare O-rings, and valve stem-mounted dust caps. Its a cool set-up, albeit a bit of a small read-out screen, but its solar powered - so far, so good.

We bought these same caps in April from Amazon as well - peace of mind! Old caps: New cap installed after cleaning up brake drums and applying high-temp paint: -
Battery compartment door lock replacement
MAX Burner replied to StillGame's topic in Ollie Modifications
With the $'s invested in our kit inside the battery compartment (i.e.; numerous LAs, AGMs, or LiFePo's, solar charge controllers, etc,), the hatch is begging for a more secure locking mechanism other than the Southco M1 25 Series Compression Latch with the easily obtainable and punny M1-546 key. Wondering if it would be worth the effort to have a large number of forum members approach Oliver with a collective request to upgrade the battery compartment compression latch? The same thieves stealing catalytic converters could easily change their focus on ripping off RV battery compartment components and probably increase their effort/profit margin by doing so. -
A couple OTT spotting... Two Thursdays ago, 22JUN, we were I-25 northbound, right lane, 65mph, near Trinidad, CO - and a silver Tundra TV blows by in the left lane with their OTT in tow - it was looking like we were looking at us going by! Then yesterday in Amarillo, TX - we pull into the Route 66 RV Park right in front of a TX Ollie! Small world, the Oliver Family!

Adding Water Accumulator to pre 2018 Elite II
MAX Burner replied to bradbev's topic in Ollie Modifications
OK... y'all talked us into it! We're ordering the accumulator and hoses today from Amazon... This compartment (as others) is begging for more insulation... -
