  1. We’ve been carrying them around for years hoping to never need them. So far, so good! It’s better to have them and not need them than to be stuck with the hand crank... Mike
  2. That’s a good idea. We keep the bathroom door open as much as possible, especially during cold weather.
  3. Yes, it stays on. We’ve been through some pretty gusty winds in west Texas. It has a drawstring and a Velcro strap below that.
  4. Congratulations on your adoption! Our #135 is our first RV too. After four years and 50K miles we feel like we’re pretty seasoned. You will too. See you at the rally! Mike
  5. Congratulations!! We’ll see you at the rally! Mike
  6. Ditto. It sounds like it was a terrible storm and I hope none of our Hohenwald friends were affected by the losses. Mike
  7. It’s not that difficult. I did it with no instructions, just paid attention to how it fits together as I took it apart. If I had not chopped up a bunch of beetles with I would not have needed to remove it.
  8. John, nice write up. I wish I had this when I removed my fan! Mike
  9. I found them on Amazon. There are several different sizes. Click on the 5.5” size and then you’ll have a choice to select the 6”. They are pricey, about $30 each on Amazon. Since I am always using legos and wooden blocks I’m not sure what these would do for me. Maybe provide a better grip on the wood blocks and look cool?
  10. Nice job on the graphics! It’s an Oliver but it’s YOUR Oliver! Mike
  11. Those look nice. Nice job on the video, too! Mike
  12. I’ve got CarPlay on my new truck and I really like it. I’m going to check out GAIA. Thanks.
  13. Could be a bad switch? Maybe move the wires to the good side and see if that switch makes any difference.
  14. You could bring it to the rally and charge $10 a weigh in and pay for the scale!
  15. Prices will never come down? How about that larger Ollie? You know the one that is a little wider a little longer with a walk around queen bed and dry bath? 😳 Legacy Elite III? 😁
  16. I agree with Bill. I notice on the rally schedule that there is time for “table top discussions”. Not sure what the subjects will be, but we did that at the second rally that was in Tennessee and would also be a good time to gather with new owners for discussions about questions or whatever comes up.
  17. Welcome! It’s good to see so many new owners going to the rally. You’ll run into lots of experts eager to help and share knowledge and experiences. See you there! Mike
  18. Spent about 3 hours restringing my wounded window shade this afternoon. I used 1mm shade cord, ordered 30’ which was about right to restring the top (screen). It looked a bit overwhelming at first, strings going everywhere... The diagrams and photos in this post were helpful. I also took pictures as I disassembled to help with the reassembly. Once you have it apart it’s interesting to see how it works.
  19. I use a Primo XL at home to smoke with and grill. It’s a ceramic like the BGE but made in USA. They make a small one that I’ve thought about getting for camping. It would still be heavy but would be an outstanding smoker when on the road. My brother has a Traeger and likes it a lot.
  20. That’s how it works on mine as well.
  21. ...or the Rebel.😎
  22. I’ve removed the fan blade assembly a dozen times or so for cleaning. I remove and clean the screen even more frequently. A couple of years ago a flock of beetles took up residence between the screen and the fan. I thought that if I turned on the fan at a low speed it might suck them out. WRONG! It was a mess... beetle guts everywhere. When we got home I removed the entire assembly from the trailer. I completely disassembled the fan, cleaned everything, put it back together, climbed back up on top of the trailer and reinstalled it. What I didn’t do was lube anything. I’ll do that this weekend before we go down to the coast next week (Rockport TX).
  23. We all love talking about trucks so we’ll just let these threads go. In a couple of months someone else will ask again and we can all jump in. The more miles (50K+) I put in towing my Ollie the more I move to the bigger is better group. I almost went with a 2500 this time, but alas, I had have a Rebel....
  24. Same here. Same sound and time.
  25. Ours is noisy when opening and closing. I think it’s normal.
