I agree with the point of this article! The size of an Oliver is an advantage, not only is it easier to handle in traffic and gas stations but its size allows for some good flexibility with smaller camp sites or last minute overnight stopping spots. Mike

Arkansas has a number of very nice state parks. We haven’t been to Bull Shoals but will add it to our list! Mike

We’re right in the path, it was pretty interesting to see. I didn’t get very dark, stood out in the driveway with our neighbors taking turns with the eclipse glasses. Definitely a ring of fire. Mike

Good choice on the truck. I towed with two different Ram 1500s, both with the 5.7 V8. It would be helpful if you told us what kind of camping/traveling you think you’ll be doing, if you know. We had never camped when we ordered our trailer. I didn’t think we’d do much boondocking but went ahead and ordered solar. Lithium wasn’t an option then. As it turns out many National Parks have campgrounds with no hookups. Many other desirable camping locations are also no hookups. We’ve utilized Harvest Host locations and they are mostly no hookups. So, I would recommend thinking about where you will go and how you’ll camp before going without solar. Mike

Black Canyon is pretty amazing. The National Park side gives the best views. You can also access it from the other side near Crawford State Park. Enjoy! Mike

John, as others have said, the monitor stays on when plugged in. You can only turn it off when unplugged. I’ve never used a booster, when I ordered mine 7 or 8 years ago a booster wasn’t even mentioned. We’ve never had any connection or interference issues. Mike

Check with Oliver service. These are unique to Oliver. I lost one and Oliver service sent me a replacement. Mike

Does your microwave or refrigerator work on 110? Did you check to see if there are any lose connections?

As long as the Dill will alarm even if the app isn’t being displayed on your phone. I have the separate TST monitor but don’t look at it much after we’re under way. If something is wrong it will alarm, otherwise I pretty much ignore it. The Dill sounds pretty nice, will be interested in how you like it. Mike

Our batteries last quite a while, much more than a year. I have replaced each of them a couple of times over the years but not more than that. It’s always been while camping! I don’t think there’s any drain on them if we’re not moving or if the display is off. We’ve been traveling around East Tennessee and Kentucky the last few weeks, beautiful time of the year here. Hopefully when we get home to Texas the cooler October weather will be there. Mike

Interesting concept. Looks like a nice trailer, the weight will be something that people with smaller TV’s will appreciate. The price isn’t bad either. I had to raise an eyebrow at the standard “electric fireplace”. Mike

My 2020 Ram 6.7 Diesel has exhaust brake, I think it was standard or maybe it came with the tow package. Either way, like Patriot and others I use it a lot. Mike

Welcome! Hopefully it won’t be too much longer than SomeDaySoon. Hanging around here will help prepare you for whenever your Oliver adventures begin. We’d like to do some parks in Canada, it’s nice to know we have someone familiar with them. Mike

Drive across the park to the Grand Lake side, it’s quite a drive. The area around Grand Lake is nice, not as built up as Estes Park. Have fun! Mike
