has anyone tried the new Dometic fresh jet 2200?
Mike and Carol replied to Roadlotus's topic in Ollie Modifications
This is an interesting product from Dometic. From their literature it seems that they understand their current AC’s have issues! I’d be interested in pricing. Mike -
Cricket noises from the lights
Mike and Carol replied to Going Coastal's topic in Mechanical & Technical Tips
Your lights are 12v and run off the batteries, even when you are on shore power. The inverter changes 12v from your batteries to 110v for your 110v outlets, it does not power your lights. Solar charges your batteries and doesn’t directly run anything. I don’t know what could be causing your issue, I’m not sure I hear it in your video. I’m sure someone will have an idea. Mike -
It was a good rally. Time to learn stuff and time to socialize and meet new friends. See you next year!

Enclosed Aluminum Box Front Mount
Mike and Carol replied to Tim and Christie's topic in Ollie Modifications
I was too! There may other, more elegant ways to mount it. I figured it wasn’t coming off and if it did I’d replace it with something so the holes won’t show. -
Enclosed Aluminum Box Front Mount
Mike and Carol replied to Tim and Christie's topic in Ollie Modifications
I posted some pictures years ago when I installed my box but I can’t find the thread. Part of my box is on the fiberglass and part is over the aluminum tongue. I used a piece of a workout mat (square puzzle like pieces) on top of the aluminum to make the mounting surface even. Then, I simply drilled three holes through the box and through the fiberglass and used some stainless steel bolts to secure the box. I have a piece of yoga mat on the bottom of the box to cover the bolt heads. I’ll try to find some pictures. Here’s a shot of the bolts, the placement was determined by the configuration of the tongue underneath. A blurry shot from underneath the tongue. It doesn’t look like much but it has been very stable over the last 5 years or so. -

You’d have been welcomed to do more than ogle! I’ve been surprised at how durable it’s been, especially considering the price. Will be interested in what you do. Mike -
Great rally this year! Thanks to Scott Oliver and his staff and the great folks at Lake Guntersville State Park. If you have pictures this is the place to post them! Here’s the sunset from the lodge after Wednesday’s dinner. One of the best rally activities, sitting around talking! Right to left - Scott Oliver, Ken Cvacho, Lee Slusher and Terry Slusher. This group grew as the evening progressed! Trailers with a view of the lake.

Mileage seems about the same, but it sure does feel slick. I’m sure washing will be easier too.

We’ve been through several hail storms. No damage. Even the solar panels withstood the crashing balls of ice. Mike

Enclosed Aluminum Box Front Mount
Mike and Carol replied to Tim and Christie's topic in Ollie Modifications
Yep, that looks like what I have. Thin aluminum and lightweight. You can lock it, but I never do since I don’t carry anything of value in it. I’ve had it longer than I thought, just checked my Amazon orders and I got it in October 2017. It still works fine, no dents or damage, does exactly what I got it for. Mike -
Enclosed Aluminum Box Front Mount
Mike and Carol replied to Tim and Christie's topic in Ollie Modifications
I’ve had this on my tongue for 4 or 5 years. Holds all my chocks, blocks, gloves, some tools and 20 big yellow legos. I got it on Amazon, there were several to choose from. It was a little over $100 then. -
We didn’t see any other Ollies, so it must have been us!

We’ve been using the AB Lifestyles Oliver sheets for 5 or 6 years now. They have held up very well. They do get softer the more we wash them. We consider it a good investment. Mike

On our way to the rally. We stopped overnight at Rocky Creek COE Campground near Burton, TX. It’s on Somerville Lake, typical COE campground. Sites are nicely spaced. It seems to be popular with boaters, there is a ramp and parking at most sites for a boat and trailer.

A Thread for OTT Owners of "New-to-Them" Ollivers...

Yes it does. -
Same here. I do my thing, Carol does her thing then we check each other.

Big Cat, if you could provide a little more information you would get a lot more help! There are a lot of Olivers with a rear hitch. You indicate you want to carry a generator on the back of your Oliver. What size, what weight? I had an inverter generator that weighed 95lbs, I now have one that weighs 37lbs. Big difference. I’m sure you’ve followed travel trailers with a load on the back - if the road isn’t smooth there’s lots of bouncing around. Keeping the right amount of tongue weight is also important, what is it that you want to carry on the tongue, will it counter balance the weight in the rear? You’ll get lots of good help here if you could be a little more informative on what you want to do. Mike

I’ve used a clay bar on cars, but not sure I’d want to tackle our trailer. Lots of surface area.

Hi Eric, there are several Elite II’s in the SATX area. We are in Fair Oaks Ranch near Boerne. Our trailer is in the driveway prepping to leave for the rally next week. If you want to come up and see it, shoot me a PM. Ours is 7 years old, so most of the components/applicances are now different but the feel of seeing the outside and hanging out inside is exactly the same. Maybe someone with a newer trailer in the area will chime in. Mike

She has two - both are excellent!

When I added one in 2017, it was also too strong. I moved the magnet from the outside of the dinette seat to inside and it works perfect, plus you can’t see anything on the side of the seat, just the white magnet on the bottom of the door. RV Door Magnet on Amazon Mike

Rear Jacks Rocker Switches Mounted on Dog House
Mike and Carol replied to MAX Burner's topic in General Discussion
Our switches work fine. I haven’t done anything to them. They should be easy to replace if you get some new ones. Mike -
My spare is a different size.
