A good thing about frozen burgers is that you can grill them without thawing. We usually thaw, but there have been times when we weren’t able to and we just threw the frozen burgers on the Weber or the Blackstone and they cook fine. Mike

We’ve used TST for over 5 years. Works well. Tireminder is also good. There are others. Just get one and use it! Mike

Welcome, Steve. You probably have questions. Lots of answers here, so ask away. Mike

We camped at Two Medicine Campground. Loved it. It’s a bit of a drive up to the main entrance to Glacier, but not bad.

We keep our Coopers at 50. We have the AT3 not the HT3. Mike

For me, saving money on fuel is not a reason to choose one type engine over another. I get a little over 14 mpg normal towing. Lower in the mountains, higher on flat lands. 20 mpg around town not towing. I’ve towed with a supercharged I-6 gas, two gas V-8s and now a I-6 turbo diesel. Ease of towing and ample cargo capacity are what led me to get a 2500 diesel. Mike

If you are going to camp without hookups the majority of the time, go composting. If you will have hookups the majority of the time go with a conventional toilet. We have a regular toilet since that was all that was available back then, we do boondock and can go 4 or 5 days before we need to dump. We’re usually ready to move anyway. I like things to be simple. When my hot water tank gives up I will replace it with another tank, not a Truma. I don’t want a composting toilet because the flush and dump of the regular toilet is easy with very little to go wrong. That’s just me. Mike

We just ordered an Elite ll for pick up in April 2023
Mike and Carol replied to KetchikanKid's topic in Introduce Yourself
We’ve been to Catalina a bunch of times. Gilbert Ray and the other Maricopa County Parks are great as well. We also like Lost Dutchman, Dead Horse, Kartchner and others. Mike -

Mike and Carol replied to KetchikanKid's topic in Introduce Yourself
We usually go to Arizona for the month of January. We’ve got reservations at Catalina State Park starting January 2, then more around the state. If there’s ice in southern Texas it usually doesn’t last long. Mike -
Bathroom Vanity Cubby Modification
Mike and Carol replied to Frank C's topic in Mechanical & Technical Tips
That’s some great work! Now on my to-do list. Mike -
They’ve been catching grief over on Fiberglass Forums for a couple of years. Mike

We keep it simple when camping. One of my favorites is burgers. Fire up the Blackstone grill, throw on some bacon, then add sliced onions. Put the burgers on. The aroma never fails to arouse hunger in neighboring campers. Put bacon on the burger, add some cheddar cheese, onions on top. A glass of red wine tops it off. Now I need to go camping. Mike

Welcome and congratulations on your future Oliver! It sounds like it will meet your camping needs in fine fashion. If you have any questions, ask away! Mike -
Opportunity for a FREE ZARCOR door window upgrade!
Mike and Carol replied to hobo's topic in General Discussion
It’s a worthwhile upgrade. We’ve had ours for years and it still works like new. Mike -
I guess I need to take the cover off and inspect to see if there are any loose bolts or screws. We did lose one of the four screws that hold the shroud on. I’d sure like to replace my Dometic with a new Truma or Houghton! Mike

Congratulations on your order and welcome to the forum. It’s all about owners helping owners here. We’ve been to plenty of campgrounds that were tight and we’ve been able to get into them every time, especially some National Parks campgrounds. Let us know how we can help! Mike

Clear coat or not on the hitch
Mike and Carol replied to Wayfinder's topic in Mechanical & Technical Tips
I just use Rustoleum black after cleaning the rust. Clear coat may cause the paint to last longer. Let us know if you try it. Mike -
I agree with John here. When I went from a half ton to a 3/4 ton the Andersen came off. Not really needed for a truck like yours. Mike

Electric Blankets; Anyone Use 'Em in an Oliver?
Mike and Carol replied to Rivernerd's topic in General Discussion
We don’t use electric blankets. If dry camping the furnace does a fine job of keeping things warm. If we have electric our little Vornado keeps things warm. Like JD, we keep a window cracked and a roof vent open. Sheets and blankets work well for us. We also have a couple of LL Bean fleece sleeping bag liners that are nice under the covers when it gets really cold. Mike -
50K in 2020 seems low to me…

Agree 100%. The Olivers are not trying to take advantage of anybody. They are making a quality product and selling at a fair price. I know small business owners here in south Texas that are having a very challenging time hiring reliable employees and are often operating with fewer employees than they should have. I’m sure Hohenwald is no different. Mike

I would also like to see a “basic” trailer that would allow a more affordable Oliver. As long as they are selling everything they can make with all the bells and whistles I don’t see that happening. Mike
