  1. Hiking/walking is our main exercise supplemented with body weight exercises (push-ups, squats, lunges, etc.). Last year I bought a water-fillable plastic kettlebell for swings, squats, and a variety of arm exercises. Mike
  2. I’m interested in options too. It might be a good safety upgrade. I’ve never had a back up camera on our trailer since I never camp alone and Carol is a highly proficient backer-upper guide for me. Mike
  3. Our son was born in Hawaii back when we lived there in the 80s. Good memories. Mike
  4. Your combination wrench is a good solution for some folks. The switch I installed weighs very little even with the extra short cable. My batteries are now always off when in storage except when I stop by to do something - once or twice a week. I appreciate the convenience of opening the door a little and turning the switch without opening it all the way, sliding the tray out, getting the wrench out of my tool box, etc. We’re all different! Mike
  5. Zach and Margaret, welcome! I follow Technomadia still today. Interesting couple… Glad to hear you are joining the group. July will get here before you know it. Lots of smart folks here to answer questions and give opinions! Mike
  6. We store spare toilet paper and paper towels there….boring. I bet a compact wine rack might be better. Lift the seat, get a drink! Mike
  7. I second the vote for vinyl gutters. They do help. Mike
  8. We didn’t use one for the first couple of years. We’ve had a couple over the last few years. I left one laying on the tongue and drove off, I’m sure someone found it somewhere. Over time I think the sun will fade the plastic parts of the jack. I also like to keep it dry. Ours is one we found on Amazon, it’s fairly thick and has an elastic draw string and a Velcro strap to make sure it stays on. I also have a 7 pin cord holder zip tied on the jack and the cover goes over it as well keeping it dry when we’re camping. Haven‘ had any issues with moisture forming under the cover. Mike
  9. You wouldn’t look as deranged flashing the lights in your truck? 🤣
  10. I’m assuming you’re talking about the window weep holes. Ours drain fine. We just spent the last couple of months in the north east and had plenty of rain, no issues. It’s important to keep them clean, something I do after every trip. Some put pipe cleaners in theirs with part of the cleaner hanging out to provide a wicking effect. I haven’t had the need to try that. I wouldn’t consider it a big issue. Mike
  11. Yum!
  12. We have a microfiber towel hanging in the bath that we use to wipe down after showering. When we travel, we roll it and put it in the handle to keep it closed when driving. It works well. Mike
  13. We found that satellite TV for the trailer would be a bit expensive for how much we watch. When we have a good cell signal or wifi we stream some TV that we want to watch through an iPhone. Several years ago I installed a Sirius/XM receiver and connected it to the Furrion so we get the sound from all the speakers. It gives us all the news/weather/sports that we would watch at home, just with no picture. When tied in with the truck Sirius/XM contract it is much more affordable. Actually, we haven’t watched TV in the trailer in well over a year, so our solution may not be for everyone. Mike
  14. To me, it should be a “recall” issue that gets corrected during a service. When the issue and solution was discussed a few years ago it didn’t seem to me to be a complicated fix, at least not $400 worth. Mike
  15. Agree. It should be done for all trailers that need it. Mike
  16. We don’t have the lagun table or Overlands extension. We find there is adequate counter space for what we want to do. We do use the space on top of the fridge and the dinette table for big projects. I’ve often thought about doing Overlands extension project, it would be nice…. Mike
  17. No! Not sure what could be causing that. Our fridge always stays on AC when plugged in and propane when not. No switching between the two. Does the fridge switching match the inverter relay? Maybe one of our electrically smart owners will weigh in. Mike
  18. When we purchased our Elite II we had a Tacoma. It was our first RV and we weren’t sure how it was going to work out. Most of our “new” Oliver friends were towing with half tons and advised me to upgrade to a larger truck. Sure enough, my range was very limited (150-200 miles max) and payload capacity was limiting. I traded the Tacoma after 6 months for a Ram 1500. Night and day difference. Then, most of our now “old” Oliver friends upgraded to 3/4 ton diesels. After 5+ years and over 60K towing miles on the 1500 I traded in for a Ram 2500 with the big Cummins diesel. Towing is stress free, no Andersen, great range and we can load just about anything in the truck we need. It is definitely not overkill. Mike
  19. Would a case of Lone Star be acceptable? 🤪
  20. See Bill for the beer.🍺 Unfortunately, we have a family wedding that weekend so we won’t be there. You’ll be welcomed warmly by a bunch of Oliver owners. Mike
  21. Yes, it would!! If you can I would definitely stop by. I’m sure you’ll find folks willing to give you a tour, sales pitch and a cold beer. Mike
  22. Whenever we run our AC we set the fan on low. No cycling issues. Mike
  23. I was beginning to wonder if there were any fish involved with this trip….
  24. Good idea to check with your manufacturer. You should be in great shape with the Lithium Pro Package. I installed two Battle Borns with a total of 200aH. I was ready to get a third if two weren’t enough. We’ve been out about 75 days since the install (January) and the two batteries have been plenty, even with all the boondocking we did! Mike
