  1. So when ordering springs from Alcan, we should request bolt under for our replacements, so it matches the current spring install? I'm definitely not a mechanically minded personšŸ™ƒ
  2. I must be blind, but I can't find contact info for Alcan. Can you share that?
  3. Oliver spotted at Galveston Island State Park. Nice opportunity to meet and chat with Ed Skigator. Coffee in the morning.
  4. Thanks for sharing this. I wonder if a USA made 4-leaf spring would solve the issue. Less stiff than the 5-leaf and USA made, or whether USA made 5-leaf is the safest way to go. If the USA 4-leaf is possibly better than the Chinese 5-leaf. Looking forward to hearing more when you get the USA springs installed.
  5. Always a treat to spot one or be spotted and see a post about being spotted. We were at Galveston Island State Park and an Owner with their Oliver drove by and posted seeing our Oliver. We saw the post and replied back😊 The best was having a phone conversation with Steve Landrum while we were both on I-20, Steve East bound and we were West bound. We all waved passing each other in a blur.
  6. We use the Truma hand held unit. As previously mentioned you need to take the housing cover off. I have been happy with the results. Depending on amount of use (i.e. stove, furnace, grill, fridge, fire pit) I will periodically or every couple of days. I may consider switching down the road. I paid around $75 for the unit.
  7. In my opinion placing a warm object in the 3-way fridge freezer will cause the temp to sky rocket. This comes from testing I did. Why not have that frozen in the freezer and use frozen water bottles for sandwiches, or just make a stop and get the sandwiches out of the fridge. We have a truck fridge and have been using it on fridge only and a small cooler to hold traveling drinks. We try not to put anything warm in the trailer fridge. We give our dog pure pumpkin and placed a new can in the truck fridge to get it cold before placing it in the trailer. Lots of trial and error.
  8. Awesome Build. Brings back memories of our Four Wheel Camper (FWC) Pop-Up truck camper. Those were fun days in the back country
  9. Awesome. Wonder when that photo was taken. Was there Monday for service work.
  10. You definitely want to submit a service ticket to Oliver, and provide everything you have shared. support@olivertraveltrailers.com You will get an immediate response back with a ticket. Oliver will follow up pretty quickly on Monday.
  11. 2 days after picking up our 2022, Hull #1045, while camped at David Crockett State Park, we were plugged into shore power. I pulled up the phone app for Lithonics to check our batteries. They were down to 70%+/-. We were plugged into shore power at Oliver and at David Crockett. We confirmed there was shore power. Call Oliver and they had me check the inverter breaker located on the front wall, street side. It is right next to the actual inverter, which should be off. The breaker had tripped and there was no charging of the batteries. I reset the breaker and we were good. This happened twice more on another trip, and a new breaker was awaiting our arrival home. So with the breaker tripped, there was no charging of the batteries. Check your inverter breaker.
  12. Thanks This actually gives me some options when and if we need to move to the compressor fridge. I actually asked Phil back in October, 2021 if we could get a compressor fridge in our 2022 and the answer was no. Funny how that changed for the 2023 models.
  13. I get it now, and actually think your thought process is spot on. Totally reverses my previous comment.šŸ‘
  14. How are you venting the backside of your compressor fridge. While you don't need two vents with the compressor fridge like you did with the Absorbtion fridge, you still need to vent the backside of the fridge. Every truck camper I have owned, with a compressor fridge needed to vent the backside. I had to add a computer fan on the backside to pull hot air out of the space behind the fridge, especially during hot whether. IMO you are going to make that fridge work overtime. I think you are making a mistake. Curious to your reasoning. The only thing I can think of is venting warm air into the trailer in cold weather. In warmer weather I would want the heat venting outside.
  15. Both our phones have the Lithonics phone app and we have checked the batteries from both phones, not at the same time.
  16. As far as our tow vehicle 2013 F250, back in 2014 I had a Ravelco anti-theft system installed. As of a year ago they had never had a vehicle stolen. They can't hot wire, or start the truck unless the Ravelco FOB is plugged in. Back then I paid around $400. They are headquartered in Houston and have install dealers across the country. They would have to pull the truck onto a flatbed. Our 2019 Ford Edge is a different story. We keep our keys in the house on the table or on my wife's purse, and may get a metal box, or just wrap them in foil. As far as push button starts, not sure whether Ravelco can install in these late model vehicles. I will be following this.
  17. Wow! Very interesting since we have had AAA for 50+ years. When I switched to Plus RV I was assured AAA would have 2 tow trucks dispatched. Need to reavaluate.
  18. I was a member of Good Sam, but didn't have the travel coverage. I dropped my membership, because I got tired of having their travel coverage slammed down my throat to the tune of emails to join every 2-3 days. The shopping discounts stopped being worth it. The reviews turned me off. I have been a long time AAA member so we shall see.
  19. Mark, the one major thing that is the most critical with AGM batteries is that you never allow them to go below 12.2. All it takes is one time to damage or ruin them. Solar is a big help, and you should get A battery charging via the truck alternator when driving. It would also be good to have a generator, if you are boondocking. I got 5 years out of my AGM's on my Truck Camper and did things by the book. When I stored the truck camper it was covered and the battery cut-off turned off. There are parasitic draws, so I eliminated that. Every 6 weeks I took a portable solar panel over and plugged it in. 6 weeks later, batteries were at 12.6. If boondocking in cold weather and you let your batteries get too low, your furnace will shut down. AGM's aren't forgiving, so never let them get below 50%. I used 12.3 as my safety bottom line. Hope this helps.
  20. We carry AAA Hoosier Motor Club "Plus RV". We have been very lucky, knock on wood, and never had to use either USAA (when we had that coverage) or now. I'm sure it will catch up with me down the road.

  22. Nice. With our 8' bed I rarely need extra space. The only time I get cramped for space is when we camp somewhere longer than 5-6 days and don't want to hook up and go to the dump. We load the turd wagon in the bed for the trip. Our turd wagon takes up more space than I like.
  23. Chris Neuhaus, Stephen Cobb, and Marla King all have lockable boxes on the rear. Still need to remain under 150lbs.
