  1. A red letter day. Where are you?
  2. We were trying to get off the freeway and got on a highway in Massachusetts that had height restriction below our Ollie height. It was a restricted access road and we did not see the sign until it was too late to turn around. We got off as soon as we could.
  3. The 890 is old. It had I think the new one is RV 895
  4. Has anyone purchased a new Garmin? I got the Garmin DriveSmart 66 a few months back. Very disappointed. It only has two navigation calculation modes. The old Garmins had The new ones only have A person would never use straight line in a vehicle. All the new ones want to get you on the interstate as fast as they can. I am told all new Garmin only offer these two calculation modes. Very disappointed.
  5. I have watched that guy before. He is pretty fair. I will watch this video later today.
  6. We got 15.6 on our 3,000 mile trip to upstate NY and back down the eastern seaboard to Virginia beach then due west back home. 2015 2500 Duramax.
  7. Welcome, and roll on!
  8. I bet that was us. We were in campground 1, but circled through 2 when we came in. You guys had left when we walked over there.
  9. We saw two Oliver Elite II's at Table Rock Lake campground in Missouri. Driving there, we talked about the fact we had only seen one since we bought ours in August of 2023. BTW - If you are around TRL or Branson you have to eat at College of the Ozarks. The food is fantastic and the service was great. Kids work at a number of different things there to pay for tuition, room and board. https://www.keetercenter.edu/Dine/Dining/Menu
  10. You got exactly what I was trying to say. The lower hull in another color, or another shade of white would look very good.
  11. The bright moon this morning cast a shadow perfectly at the line of the bottom hull making it look dark. It looked good. I don't know anything about fiberglass. How hard is it to make it a different color? I wonder if a color, especially at the water line, would attract more buyers?
  12. This story needs to be the next ad OTT runs
  13. I got you. That was my problem. They key was locked in the truck and the truck key was locked in the Ollie. I had two things happen that broke my routine. My driver door auto lock on my truck just stopped working. Then, the battery on the Ollie keypad went low. Being on autopilot, like I sometime do, I messed up. We are on a 3,000+ mile trip and my head is not quite on straight.
  14. Oliver Service, named Jason, came to our rescue. I called and left a message with service at 8:30 Eastern. Jason called me back within a few minutes. He suggested the basement route. Lucky my son was here to crawl where no man has crawled before, and hopefully never again. It appears the default code would not work because the lock battery is low. LESSON LEARNED, and a huge shout out of appreciation to @JEssary at the mothership. BTW - What is "the override key"?
  15. Help! What is the default code? I am locked out.
  16. I am planning to start dosing screws with red loctite going forward thanks all
  17. I forgot to mention the set screw on the black tank blade valve was missing on our first stop after leaving the factory.
  18. So far I have had the screws rattle out of the microwave mounting frame (I am questioning if the were installed), the Xantrex faceplate, the outside flip up table and the Dometic cooktop. We have about 6,000 miles on our Ollie. Normal highway miles, very few gravel roads. Is this normal? I am wondering what less obvious screw, nut or bolt might be waiting to make its absence known.
  19. I was struck by the fact that none of Vermont's state parks had hookups. I was querying the group if there were other states like that. Obviously I do check their websites. That is how I found out Vermont's situation.
  20. I only put water in my fresh tank when I know I need it. I don't want the extra weight.
  21. I prefer to have water and electric on the site. Having sewer is nice too. Oddly the cost of a site does not seem to depend on the amenities it offers. I have nothing against boondocking, but I want to pick my time and place.
  22. I just swapped a site in Freeport ME at Winslow Park for Camden Hill State Park in Maine to get electric and water on the site.
  23. We have been at RV camping a few days short of a year. We have yet to stay at a "for profit" campsite. By that I mean we stay at state parks, COE parks and national parks. We have camped maybe 40 days in 7 states. Like I said, we are newbies in all respects. We have our first "big" trip planned. It is 25 days. It appears that Vermont state parks do not offer any amenities on the sites. They have community water and a dump station. https://www.vtstateparks.com/camping.html Are there other states' parks that do not have sites with water and electric?
