He is not wrong. If the trees were gone, this place would be a swamp. I would much prefer to live in the mountains and in a dryer climate, but this is where the job is. I hate heat and despise humidity just a little more than I hate flat lands.

More DC to DC charger installation tidbits
Jason Foster replied to Snackchaser's topic in Ollie Modifications
Don’t forget, the new diesels, if not deleted, will delete themselves if you idle too long. My 6.7 is deleted and will idle for extended periods of time without harm but the new ones will clog up all the EPA garbage. -
Not a bad idea since the humidity here is often higher than the temperatures and they are almost always above 80.

2" 1UP hitch post doesn't fit 2" Oliver bike receiver 😵
Jason Foster replied to GlacierGirl's topic in General Discussion
The flip side to this approach is 1) assuming the aluminum reciever is sturdy enough as it looks like it was designed for additional interior pieces. 2) grinding the bike rack hitch to fit will make it useful only for your current Oliver and will be way too loose in a standard hitch receiver. If you were to grind down the hitch to fit and it later broke the aluminum receiver, a replacement receiver would be too big requiring you to get a new hitch from 1up. There are positives and negatives to both routes. -
I’ve noticed the same thing and will be purchasing a small dehumidifier similar to what @Rolind posted above.

Replaced Leaking Truma. - copy of my FB post
Jason Foster replied to QuestionMark's topic in Mechanical & Technical Tips
Im surprised Truma sent you one directly. I assumed they only ship them to Truma authorized installers. -
I drove an EV once. Looked like the attached picture. Batteries were good for a while, no real way to tell how much “gas” was in the tank. Would leave me stranded hauling my own clubs. Then the batteries started losing their maximum capacity. Once they were down to about 50%, I went to replace the batteries, found out the cost and sold it for a gas powered one which lasted a long time and never left me stranded. I can even keep a gas can on board to extend my journey. I once saw a Tesla Cybertruck sitting on the side of the road hooked up to a gas generator. I expected a bunch of solar panels, but I guess gas was faster and more reliable.

What you have there is an incomplete receiver. Remove it and install the one @Steve Morrisrecommended. That is what I am going to do. -
2" 1UP hitch post doesn't fit 2" Oliver bike receiver 😵
Jason Foster replied to GlacierGirl's topic in General Discussion
Yes. They add a bit of clearance because the hitch is 2 inches. If both the receiver and hitch were 2 inches with no variance, you would have difficulty getting the hetch in place. Kind of like you are having now. -
2" 1UP hitch post doesn't fit 2" Oliver bike receiver 😵
Jason Foster replied to GlacierGirl's topic in General Discussion
That is the new style 1 1/4 inch that is missing the interior. Someone tried to make it work but a true 2 inch reciever is 2 1/6 inches. -

Wardrobe Shelving - A simplified approach
Jason Foster replied to Geronimo John's topic in Ollie Modifications
That looks nice. I’ve been contemplating the weirdness of the wardrobe as well but it hasn’t gone much farther than that. By itself, that space is nothing kore than a throw all. Shelves in the back allows for more vertical space usage and less piling. -

Gorilla compact 25’ hose for marine and RV use

I’m with you on this. One day when I actually get more than a day and a half to do some camping, I could see how far I can go with what water I have. -

Gorilla compact 25’ hose for marine and RV use
Jason Foster replied to Patriot's topic in Mechanical & Technical Tips
That is more boondocking than I have had time for, unfortunately. If I could get away from my job long enough to need that much water, I would absolutely love to carry extra hoses with me. My boondocking experience so far has been two days near a water supply I couldn’t quite reach with my abundance of hoses. -

I wonder if these support poles are made specifically for Girard or a MacGyver option sans previously chewed gum.
